Right, so it was just a BS rumour then?! Cheers for that.
What do we all want in a new striker though? I have listed a few things I believe our crucial for the new man:
Height - With Bliss gone we need a striker who can be a target man when needed Integrity - This is why I am so keen on a non league striker, as you almost guarantee this quality! Goals - Seems obvious I know, but I think a player with a real poachers instinct is a must, we seem to have a lot of 'build up' type strikers Gambler - MUST be the type of striker who is in the right place at the right time! A player who will 'buy a ticket' as they say Selfish - Not a quality I normally condone, but it was clear on Saturday that our strikers seemed happier passing then shooting! Obscure - This is an odd one, but I personally love it when we unearth an unheard obscure name from the lower leagues, Stuart Sinclair anyone? Unfazed - I guess this one slightly contradicts my last point, but the player coming in must be ready for the challenge! Tough - Could have said strong also, I guess this sort of goes with height, but Bliss was tall but I don't think he was tough.
I know the above is probably unrealistic, but I honestly believe if we can achieve it we will not only improve drastically this season, but I think the future in general will start to look much better.

Whilst Bliss may return surely we initially looking at just a one month loan, or loan period of some kind, if so, I can't see we will sign anything but a young striker from another league club?

We need someone as big and pacey like Bliss but with a nasty side. DC was saying at his forum thing that Bliss has all the attributes but he's just too nice. We need someone that's going to fight for the ball, no nice guy.

Not sure being Mr Nasty would give him the ability he appears to lack to make it at league level? 10 gaols in nearly 60 games for Kidderminster suggests he was never going to be prolific goal scorer even at Conference level.

That's the thing, Bliss was never brought in to be a prolific goalscorer. He needs to be running at defences and scaring the sh*t out of them. But the blokes too nice. A lot of defenders shy away from Akinde / similar because he's a nasty f**ker. If they played against Bliss they'd always shake his hand for a well contested battle but sometimes you need a horrible f**ker up top watering the defenders off - and then Easter, Taylor, Harrison can slip in behind and stick it in the net.
