Too many promotion references here. A second rate signing triggers promotion talk in January? How far off midtable are we?

I wonder whether DC has been clever and took advantage of Micky Mellon's uncertain position as Shrewsbury manager?

If this record is 2nd rate, I can't wait for us to sign a 1st rate player "Won promotion from L2 with Shrews last season and has already made 23 appearances for them in L1 this year. Has won 5 promotions over his career and can play CM or on the wing" If somebody had posted yesterday he was going to sign today they'd have been laugh off the forum. You do wonder the calibre of the striker (and goalie?) DC's now going to sign, hopefully this doesn't mean TL's on his way to pay for them??

What harm will it do having promotion experience in the squad? We're 5th in the league, if we can't talk about players to bolster our potential push for the play-offs/promotion when we're 12 points away from the bottom half of the table, we may as well pack up and go home. Lawrence was a very big part of Shrewbury's team this year, and has been this year. A regular L1 player signing for us would be a good addition on paper.

Too many promotion references here. A second rate signing triggers promotion talk in January? How far off midtable are we? I know where you're coming - from i'm a cynic myself Si. But DC is proving to be good at these things and it appears to me this is a "Horses for Courses" signing and i think the race we're now entering is for those top 3 places which appeared unlikely at seasons start - we're still a long shot (imo) but sometimes the winner comes from off the pace and we are travelling well! UTG!

I remember Liam Lawrence and Disley tearing us to shreds for Mansfield in what I still reckon was the best away performance from a side I've seen at The Mem Good signing, a player with loads of experience, who's played at a higher level and with good ability. Let's hope for a few more Remember the game well - who was the striker up front who scored 2 goals ??

That's a name I haven't heard in ages, I always hated his stupid earrings but he was a good lower prem front man, I think he was aging back then tho wasn't he? God knows how old he is now lol edit: Ok he's 36 and playing for Oldham, sign him up! Lol

If this one comes off I would be quite happy, good experienced player and experience of what is needed to get out of this league from last year, also comes across as a good honest pro in that BBC interview, exactly the same as Manse now and Monky last season, very much the type of leader that you need in these situations and clearly something that DC likes to have in the squad.
Now if we could get Gaffers back as well, and a 'keeper then I would be over the moon and really fancy our chances of getting in those top 3 places.

Nathan Blisset won promotion last year aswell, that doesn't make him a good signing for a conference club. We have signed more wingers this year than I can remember and have hardly used them. Our midfield has a champ player who was our marquee signing, sitting on the bench. He is old-motivation? Why is he leaving? I welcome new signings and have faith in the manager. My issue is with our supporters who prematurely ejaculate. It is January.

The question is if Matty T's agent has indicated he won't be signing a new contract then the club may have decided to cash in now rather than let him leave for nothing in the summer. If we're paying a fee for a 34-year-old I'm presuming we've got money coming in from somewhere.

They have just loaned their top scorer to Northampton and looks like their captain is coming to us. Also Wimbledon are in for 1 of their players.
