I can't see any bitter or unhappy posts on OTIB..... We're just very happy to have a ridiculously rich, Bristolian owner But won't it be the case that our owner may well spend more time in Bristol than yours?! Probably! But he will never be a Bristolian...moving away doesn't alter your birthplace...

"but I probably should expect some abuse...." - That sounds like a typical Saturday family night in a Ted's house! I'd love to come along to your comedy show sometime soon.... To be fair, nothing can match your very own Comedy Club

I can't see any bitter or unhappy posts on OTIB..... We're just very happy to have a ridiculously rich, Bristolian owner Strange that. He gets slagged off every week on your forum. Hopefully we can use our money a lot better than yours has, eh? You are right. I can't believe Mr Lansdown gets criticised so much. He can't have done much more for our club. Some managerial appointments have been disastrous but the guy has put his heart, soul and wallet into the club. He doesn't deserve the slagging. But, if you don't get instant results and success from today's news I'd wager there will be simmerings of discontent on here too...

Which part of Bristol is Guernsey in? It's not in Bristol, but when someone moves away from our City it doesn't alter their birthplace...he's Bristolian... And it doesn't alter the fact that when he was young he was a Rovers fan and used to go regully to Eastville with his mates.

Plus, we will get to own our own ground, and not rent it from Bristol Sport.
Happy days.

He also owns Bristol rugby, Bristol flyers basketball, Bristol city women fc & some racing driver , as the saying goes too many eggs in one basket.

Actually that is a worry. At least the seats are still red! I'm on here because my Dad, my Grandad and my great Grandad were all proud gasheads, I love the banter and being in a two club City. I've got mates in Newcastle and Portsmouth and as much as they hate Sunderland and Saints they admit it ain't quite the same as what we've got...

To be fair, nothing can match your very own Comedy Club Please expand! Why is Bristol City a comedy club? Championship club, new stadium, billionaire owner, not sure I understand? Billionaire owner, yet yo-yo between the Championship and League One. Could be a important message for us, but as proven by you lot, all the money in the world doesn't guarantee success. We've been Ragass Rovers forever but now we finally have a chance of moving forward as a club. I think that scares a lot of City fans as you probably haven't progressed as well as you thought you would with your billions.

We've already been in the Conference with a Chairman who apparently was a genuine fan! Although I share your concern at the moment as everything is a but wooly, it's OK saying our debts are being written off but is that like Pantsdown has done and cleared them with his own money or is the loan simply being switched to the Jordanian Bank? we need a bit more info but I doubt we'll get it with none of the old BoD's hanging around and "Keith" doing the interviews. I don't understand why the court case is holding up the stadium as if it's going to be built regardless of the outcome then surely the £30m would just be a windfall if we win the case, not that now even seems a possibility. These are the questions that need answering. If they are clearing the debts, what are they getting out of it? We had this when Gaydamak "invested" money which turned out to be all loans with a massive interest attached. Again I'm not just being on a downer for the sake of it, I genuinely don't want our Support Trust to be in any last minute "save our club" "return the club to the fans" meetings like we have done with Bolton. We have learnt the hard way, even if its great news for your club and long sustainability for it, you still should know more Writing off debts is different to underwriting a loan. The latter would still be a debt on the club. On face value we will be debt free.

We thought we'd kick on a lot more than we have done. It's quite soul destroying really. We'd have preferred a sh** hot team on the pitch rather than a mediocre team playing in a sh** hot stadium....

Can't blame me for trying... Paddy Power got back to me with odds of 5/1 for us to be a Prem side by the start of 2025 - 2026. Seems extremely low in my opinion, so I've asked for odds on other League 2 teams just to see if it's because we're minted now.

Your Chairman wont invest in the team/manager I hope ours does, only time will tell. Yep, good shout. What I've realised quite quickly is that very, very successful businessmen don't really have a clue when it comes to running a football club. You can't knock Lansdown at all for his business acumen, he started a business at home with his mate and they built it into in a FTSE100 entity worth over £2 billion - you just can't knock that and fair play to them. But, rich guys don't always know what they are doing when they buy a football club. We have progressed massively, hugely, unbelievably off the pitch. But we are still a lower championship club and could well be a league one club next season. It's so frustrating, but hey, it's the football rollercoaster, and don't we just love it?! For what it's worth, relative to our league positions and history, I think the Bristol clubs can claim to have bloody loyal fans and we should both be proud of that...

I like the fact that we could be on similar footings and this will hopefully lead to closer league positions. Then the colour in the shape of rivalry will once again be a daily occurrence as it used to be. A future local derby with 35,000? Mouth watering. I really hope future generations of Bristolian's will not have to leave their city to see top flight football.

I just believe in Bristol football so much, it's just incredible that we haven't ever disturbed the top flight for bloody ages except our four seasons of excitement in the late 70s...
