Thing is Stan (at least seemingly) appears to be repentent. If you listen to him, he acknowledges his wrong doings and doesnt pretend it never happened. He also happens to be one of the better pundit/commentators/journalist on not just football but depression and how it affected him and effects other people. There is a place for people to get second chances and use their experiences for the better. Stan seems like one of those
He is a bit like Jason Roberts though (on Twitter at least) and uses racism quite a lot in situations where that isn't the real issue.
Well, it's lucky that you're here to put them right.

How on earth does Stan Colkymore get work at the BBC when he hit a woman? I still have no idea how he gets a second chance. Thing is Stan (at least seemingly) appears to be repentent. Possibly. I follow Stan but he gets abuse by morons becuase we all have the power of the internet. Twitter whilst great isnt constructive to debate. Collymore at least tries to spark intelligent discussion but many people cant handle that

Well thats the beauty of opinion isnt it. Stan has stood up for the fans and advocated 20 quid tickets and the like I find he at least shows chsracter unlike so many bland pundits or commentators

He should just stick to radio, callers can be vetted and wont cause a fuss. The trouble is I thin Stan is on Twitter purely to get further recognition and stir interest in himself and his show, a marketing tool possibly.

I remember many moons ago, on a very wet Tuesday night (might be wrong about the day, but it was wet) and going to watch Rovers play (I think) Southend at Twerton. Rovers got beat, and Southend had this amazing striker. Big lad, but we just couldn't get the ball off him. Checked the programme, and it was a certain Stanley Collymore. He looked (as was proven later) a cut above any other player on the pitch.

All the trouble is very media driven.
The trouble out here in Lille centres around one pub immediately outside the station. Two or three hundred English and Welsh singing, admittedly some of it a bit confrontational, but they are completely surrounded by normal police, riot police, plain clothes police, 10-20 tv film crews in vans, and the world and his wife taking photos and videos. All are wanting things to kick off.
No mention of all the bars around the squares, 'places', cobbled streets where every single bar has English and Welsh together.
I suppose that bit doesn't make good news.

That was when the away end was a thin slither of open terrace the opposite end to where fans go now.

Jamie theakston
Ron Atkinson
Andy Grey
Martin Tyler
Jeremy Clarkson
All did far less than hit a woman, careers are over.
How come Stan gets a free pass? Because he was depressed? Is that a valid court defence for assault and battery?
i don't understand why saying "I'd smash it" is worse than actually smashing it.
Why?

Stan Collymore think he's Ross Kemp or something. Seems to be getting a lot of sh** on twitter for this vid, but gives an insight into whats going on over there. Russian fan getting taken down by the cops around 9 mins... www.periscope.tv/w/1djGXwbMNXVKZ How on earth does Stan Colkymore get work at the BBC when he hit a woman? I still have no idea how he gets a second chance. Chill peeps, it wasn't that long ago wifebeating was perfectly exceptable behaviour. Probably still is up north. Being a thoroughly modern man i would never do such a thing. I mean who the fck's going to cook my diner, tidy the house and do the laundry if she was in A&E.
