One of taylor's biggest fans however this is dragging on too long, you either want to stay or you don't simple really. Mattee if you love this club then either say yes or no, but do it now as every day we kinda lose a bit of respect for you What with Moore, James, Gaffney, Bodin already in place, has he over played his cards? Took too long Matty, adios.

With clubs back at training and preseason games on the near horizon .Mt must realise if he isn't with a squad next week he will hamper his chances for the coming season ,whatever club he is at. The new lad at rovers has replaced mcburnie and Fallon ,so he must realise rovers will sign a striker this week (?) And it's either going to be him or someone else . If it's someone else his option to stay at rovers is gone.

If he bangs in 15 goals before Christmas Peterborough are not going to let him go cheap.

As long as we've learnt our lessons from Gaffney and Cambridge!

I am sure Marcus will bring the best out in a good, long term prospect hopefully!

MT had scored 7 in 7 or so games at Chester though so clearly was in a bit of form, LJ's hasn't scored goals regularly for years, replacing a regualr goal scorer like MT with LJ is a big risk in my view.

Luke James is 21 When Matty Taylor was 21 he was scoring loads for North Leigh in god knows what league

It's gonna be a risk and hard whoever we replace Matty T with. I'd personally rather a young hungry striker though than a player on the way down.

Do you have a link to his stats? 2 in 20 doesn't sound great for a striker but it depends on how he was employed and the rest of his stats. Apparently Ronaldo has had 36 free kick attempts for Portugal and failed to score...

Possibly - just possibly - DC is backing his & his coaching staffs' ability to get the best out of a player.

He is only 21 though!
I think as a league one side we have to expect players going through rough patches, loss of form, returning from injury etc, otherwise they would be out of our reach anyway.
Although he was in a poor side, he looked a threat last season for Hartlepool at the Mem, if he can replicate that more often than not i'll be happy.

I know. I was arguing in favour of signing him not against. He obviously has talent. It couldn't have been easy moving from Hartlepool to a club with big ambitions like Peterborough at such a young age especially for such a high fee. Time and time again you see players struggle to live up to such high fees. I would have faith in our coaching team getting the best out of him.

Yes when they are that young there is a fine line between success and failure.
I remember when he first burst onto the scene at 17-18 and he couldn't stop scoring, Jeff Stelling was raving about him on Soccer Saturday. Maybe it has taken a lot out of him to move so far away at an early age, hopefully that has improved and he will feel more settled here with a kid on the way.

Correct it is a risk if LJ is MTs replacement but I get the impression that DC never worries about risks. I guess we won't know if Luke J is a replacement or is additional until Matt T makes up his mind or the transfer window shuts at end of August. 6/8 weeks to go to bring others in. UTG!
