WHat a bunch of absolute tits. Quality of life? Some blokes kicking a ball and running around a field? p**s off you absolute belters! Really, if you were worried about the space around your house being developed, you couldn't really wish for something better than a sports training ground. At least then you know there will be green fields there for the foreseeable future.

Who's surprised? When does any public planning go unchallenged these days? It's the world we live in.

What we want is a building company to make it known that should Rovers application fail then they would be interested in building a few hundred houses there. Rumours have a good effect sometimes

It is thought to be Highly unlikely to make a difference I think you mean Almondsbury Parish Council - think they have been a thorn in the side of quite a few Sports Clubs over the years including Almondsbury FC & Hallen FC/CC

Their whole objection consists of one sentence.
"APC feel the removal of conditions 7 and 13 will affect the local residents and object to the removal of these conditions, APC want these original conditions to remain."
To claim that allowing a different organisation to perform the same activity as allowed in the existing planning permission can affect local residents is just laughable. The other condition allows use during the day when most residents will be out. It was put there because of the poor junction with the A38 which has since been changed totally with the installation of crossings and traffic lights. There is already no restriction on using it flood lit at night. The lack of effort that has gone into their objection suggests to me even they don't believe they a have a case. You can imagine them at the parish council meeting agreeing to object as it will keep the locals happy.
Bottom line is this site already has planning permission for what rovers want to do and it is only a few details that need rubber stamping.

I like the other residents objection:
Comment: Distraction for the M5/M4 motorway users particularly during the hours of darkness or inclement weather when the site will be using flood lights
It's not like the GFA pitches don't have flood lights right on the M5!!

Personally, I've always felt that more light when driving is safer than no light, as long as its not actually pointed at my windscreen

So we got people who dont want us to bulldoze a football pitch and people who dont want us to make some football pitches. Said it before but will say it again. NIMBY's like this are the reason Ill never move back to Bristol. I value Bristol City fans more than I do these idiots. At least they are Bristolians. Unlike the people intent on keeping our great city in the dark ages.

It is thought to be Highly unlikely to make a difference They haven't given any explanation of why they think it it will reduce quality of life for residents, so presumably will be ignored.

Just read the objection, weird one as he appears to be objecting to the planning permission that has already been granted, rather the removal of conditions.

The local people and the district council on their behalf have the right to object. If they feel a change will have a significant impact on their quality of life the laws have been made to allow people to voice this. These are things we shouldn't get angry about they are there for our protection. What is to be understood is that change happens and that we do not own the views or land around us. If BRFC demonstrate the project is reasonable and measures are put in place to minimise disruption to peoples lives I see no problem. It may be the locals see the site as being inappropriate ,it would therefore make sense for them to investigate and suggest other sites in the area. Football clubs will always get problems because the media make a big thing out of everything they do , other businesses would hardly get a mention on a new development.
