OK, so for once in my life I can confidently claim to be ITK. The following isn't speculation, educated guesswork or pure Bullsh1t.
when the match was over my lad and I made our way to the station via the chippie just outside the stadium. We joined the several hundred other fans, us and Charlton, on the crowded platform. There was absolutely no bother, just having a good chat.
There was a South Eastern trains guy on the platform and I asked him the size of the train and he advised us to make our way further along the platform as there was considerable bunching at the platform entrance. We walked some distance down the platform just as the train was pulling into the station. As luck would have it we were right by one of the doors and were among the first people to get into the carriage. My lad said There's Wael sitting there, and sitting on a 3 seat bench was Wael and opposite him was an older grey haired man wearing specs. The 2 seats next to him were empty. Wael shook my hand and invited us the sit with them.
I had a look to my left and realised the other man was Steve Hamer. Sitting next to Wael was one of his older brothers. We had a good chat about the game, and Wael confirmed the Italian keeper is coming over for a weeks trial later in the week. They then confirmed we will be having another pre-season friendly at FC Sabadell! The Chairman got his diary out and said it would be either 26 th or 27th July.
I decided I was on a it of a roll so I said to Mr Hamer, "I suppose discussing the UWE stadium is off limits"? He replied "Not at all, it's all going well and there should hopefully be something announced in the next couple of weeks"
So there you go. What were the chances of getting to sit with the owner and his Chief Exec on a crowded train? On this occasion it was an 8 carriage made up of two 4 car sets which are not linked with a gangway. Therefore, not only did we get the correct portion of the train, but also the correct carriage, entrance and set of seats.
Make of of this what you will guys, but I promise everything I have written is 100% true.

Fantastic, love how you capture the moment too, via the chippy, crowded platform, type of train, the chance of getting a seat next to them, even more amazing is that a Southern train was actually running! Fair play for having the balls to ask the big question too, thanks for posting.

Thanks for the update Old Gas. That is great news, but I guess if we haven't heard any news by the end of the month it will be because difficulties have not been resolved. Did you get any info on why it's been dragging on?

I can picture the scene when you got off the train, Wael with his matchday programme rolled up in his hand, thrashing Hamer over the head with it saying "first that landing lights bullshit and now this, I told you to keep your mouth shut Steve!"

Im pretty sure the club know how to arrange a pre season game? As for any of the extras and the trips John Keyes organised. I am sure there is nothing stopping him doing that

Pardon my ignorance. Who is John Keyes? The guy who organised the last trip for the supporters, having previously built up the relationship with Sabadell's fans.

What did Wael think about the team's performance? I talked to him briefly on the tube after getting off the train. He thought that the marking was poor for the goals and that we gave away to many unnecessary free kicks in dangerous positions. But, he was very positive about 6 points from 9 over the festive period (no argument from me over that one).
