If wages are a stumbling block, you wonder why he's so set on getting a championship goalkeeper.
Why not try and go for the best in this league (excluding sides who are obviously bigger than us) or the most talented goalkeeper in L2?
Surely there's not much difference between a goalkeeper not deemed good enough to start in the championship and a goalkeeper clearly too good for L2 or even proven to be quality in L1.

I'd guess there's a good deal of parity in the wage structure of the current squad and I think DC would rather not bring in a Championship keeper on top money and not upset the balance in the dressing room. If that's his thinking then it's commendable but that does surely mean we need to spend a few to get someone like Olejnik in from Exeter.

Clubs don't tend to want to get rid of their first choice keeper in Jan, unless there's a silly transfer fee involved. You'd imagine our targets would be deemed surplus at other clubs from a higher level i.e. the Championship.

As that's championship player may be out of contract in the summer so that could help. Also, imagine the uproar on here if we got a L2 keeper! People saying 'we don't need L2 keepers we need L1/champ experience or we've got enough L2 players' etc etc haha

But wasn't that what DC said he wanted,a keeper with championship experience, not denigrating the new lad but what is the point of having a youth set up if we are going to bring in untried keepers to replace our own untried keeper, doesnt give our kids much motivation or encourage any prospects to join us

Same all over again, anyone else remember we did this before, some 21 year old kiddy called Fraser Forster, will we never learn? Yeah, but to be fair FF was crap for us... Uh?? Seemed good to me, and 2 clean sheets in 4 games. Stolen by Norwich to win the league.

We're bigger than Walsall. Haha perhaps if you ignore the fact Walsall have had recent Championship experience and we've had recent Non-League experience! Wigan and Bournemouth have had more recent PL experience than Leeds. Doesn't make them bigger!

Why have we now got a tall keeper that does not come for crosses if he had come off his line and cleared the ball on the first goal things would have been different although he had no chance with the other 2goals

Any person who knows anything at all about football would know he couldnt possibly come that far off his line from the free kick? Look again just in case you were hasty?

Another clueless signing by the clueless one. Absolutely. Lumley has been a disaster. Just bumping this thread to say how good he has been!! Think he deserves a bit of recognition. Really hope he keeps it up till May.

Really hope he keeps it up till May. Yep, both Lumley and DC deserve credit. It's interesting looking back at these knee-jerk reactions to signings. Comments like 'when will DC ever learn?' Have to admit that I was dubious too, having seen him make a bad error in highlights of a game he played at a previous loan.

Same token- it's only a handful of games- were sometimes too quick to decide everything.

The probability that QPR won't let us sign him permanently??
