Sit in the allocated seat, then after 10 minutes or so and when there is a lull in the game feel free to move to a space you prefer. I've done that before when I've found myself on the outside edge of a stand surrounded by people sitting down and there's no atmosphere. Just get up and walk over to where everyone's stood up and chanting and there you go your where you want to be. I suppose those that want to sit down in a quieter area could do the opposite. Personally I find miserable people telling me to be quiet and sit down just as rude and annoying as the watered up pricks that want to cause trouble with stewards and opposing fans. Guess I'm somewhere in the middle. Thing is if you've got 4000 people all crammed in to a small space then your bound to have all kinds of people who want different match day experiences.

The majority of away supporters are great but then you get the asshole's "i'll do and sit where i want" element. These people are a bunch of w*nkers and always let the club down they should ether f*ck off back to the 70's or stay at home and jerk off while watching Green Street for the millionth time. e 😂😂😂

I went to Chelsea with my 6 yr old son, in front was a watered up lad ( 20 ish ?) who was obviously coked up as well . Constantly standing up despite my many initial polite requests for him to sit as my lad couldn't see. Eventually I was a little more direct....... It worked but could of easily escalated . He kept telling me " I always stand up" .... Making out I was a part timer etc . I could understand his point of view as I was young once..... But his point of view doesn't come above my sons actually point of view.

What a thoroughly depressing thread mirroring the F**k you i do whatever i want society we live in. I go to about 5 away matches a season and simply ask the steward if the seatings is allocated or not and follow that instruction after all its not just about me is it?

Some of you are going to be shocked when we move into the UWE. When you buy your season ticket it will be for a block and not for a specific seat so it will be first come first served on the day of the game. The reasoning behind this is if you wish to bring along a family member/friend for odd games they will be able to sit with you and therefore make it easy for you to bring non season ticket holders along. As someone who travels to all away games I prefer the sit where you want rather than be dictated to by the random luck of the order you bought your ticket. Could you tell me the source of your information about rovers season ticket allocation policy when/if we move to uwe?

Any chance the RCA and other private coach water artists can try and consider the majority of Rovers fans may want to travel by car, train or official coach and actually tun up with less than 70 units of alcohol on board (each) and try not to spoil a normal day out for normal people. Yeah have a good time but when you all pile in at 2.59 pm and yah into gaps that aren't there (because you're so die hard gas yeah) and you can do what you want , then maybe the people around you get a bit annoyed and don't forget families and older people might just want to watch an away game at a decent stadium without watching you lot kicking off with stewards and police. There's a common theme here, if you think your behaviour is acceptable then pm me and we can discuss this soon. Thanks UTG

Could you tell me the source of your information about rovers season ticket allocation policy when/if we move to uwe? I didn't know that about the UWE either. Is that true? I was thinking there are going to be a lot of unhappy people when we go to the UWE because it will be an all seater stadium and people will be expected to sit down and I would think it will be allocated seating. I've never understood the problem with allocated seating, any other form of entertainment you buy a ticket and sit in the seat or place you've bought. It's a simple concept that some find difficult to grasp. If it's understood to be unallocated seating then you know and act accordingly, if it's allocated then fans should act accordingly with that as well. Blimey it's not difficult and if we want promotion and want to spend our time in the Championship then we had better get used to the rules of seating in all seated stadiums. People talk about their rights to sit where they want, that's fine if it's not allocated seating but if it is allocated then they don't. But everyone has the responsibility not to act like a knobhead and spoil someone else's pleasure on a Saturday afternoon. The bottom line is we will soon likely have an all seater stadium and we will have to change our seating habits. And if we get to the Championship we will have to abide by the rules of other clubs with all seater stadiums and not expect to do-what-want. Saturday should be a good practice run. Oops, might not go so well! UTG!

Just to reiterate - try not to turn up at Cov (watered) at kick off time and force yourself into seats that are already taken. If you can't sit with your mates then wow f**k it just move to where the stewards tell you. Just for a change.

In a new stadium wouldn't it make sense to have a block(s) of unreserved seating (season ticket + roll ups) for those who like to stand, sing, etc, with other blocks being reserved seating as per normal?
Sit where you like is fine at away games where there plenty of spare seats, but for the busier games I do prefer allocated seating.

Sit where you want is fine if it's not a sell out. But if there are 2000 seats and 2000 tickets sold, it doesn't work. You end up with dozens and dozens of odd single seats dotted all over the place that no-one wants sit in because they are with mate/partner. Exaaactly. And the groups that rock up at 3pm unfortunately don't want to use those seats. So stand in the gangway. And get lairy. And get in the way of people's views. And cause more arguments. And attract stewards. Who block peoples views. And they get lairy. Repeat at 3.50pm. But yeah, sit where you want, it has no knock on effect. TBH, it ain't easy finding your seat when you're absolutely hammered. I spend most of the day waiting patiently in the pub for everyone else to sit down, at 10 past three no lady garden wants to help you. Especially if you've had a little bit of an accident.

Massive over reaction as always. Over zealous stewarding at Port Vale and singing in the concourse at Oxford, hardly Millwall is it?
If arguing about who sits where is all we have to worry about, then we're not doing too badly are we!
God, I've seen worse fracas caused by pensioners in elasticated throusers trying to find their correct seats on the 10.25 to Paddington.

Let's hope we have 4000 tickets spread over say 6000 seats so everyone has room to stand/sit where they like.
Problem at Port Vale was they penned away fans into the corner in just over 750 seats when they had sold 750 tickets in advance and had pay on the day too.

Cov will want the 4000odd gas in the 4300 seats theyve given us and will have sterile areas covered with black sheeting. Wnt be 100s of extra seats free as clubs prefer to keep away fans blockd in together as easier to control

I like a good singalong as much as the next supporter and will be turning up with 3 generations of Gasheads, both male and female, from my father-in-law at 85 to my nephew at 31. there is 2 car loads of us and we have made a point of making sure we bought tickets all at the same time so we have a block of seat together. The last thing i want is a conflict with a fellow Gashead over seating (Ala Plymouth last year, got very nasty for a minute or two) because they couldn't get themselves organised or don't like the seat they have been allocated. It leaves a bad taste and spoils the enjoyment of a good day out. So please sit in your allocated seat and don't be an arse if you have need a few too many.
4000+ Gas in full voice cheering the lads on to 3 points, that's what we all want isn't it? Not confrontation with the authorities or each other?
See you all on Saturday, and yes i will be having a pint before the game and i fully intend to be very loud in the stadium, but with consideration for my fellow supporters. UTG

Looks like the poll has decided it then. Are we actually gonna follow it or be like the Scottish Parliament and decide to ignore it because it hasn't gone in our favour?

Fine if some people want to stand. But don't forget some people find it difficult to stand for any length of time and need to sit down. There are others who are also short in stature. If you have someone who stands up continually in front of them then it can be frustrating.
