Fine if some people want to stand. But don't forget some people find it difficult to stand for any length of time and need to sit down. There are others who are also short in stature. If you have someone who stands up continually in front of them then it can be frustrating. 100% agree, my wife is only 5'3" tall and will struggle to see if everyone is stood up and the Father-in-law is 85 and cannot stand unaided for long periods.

People should sit where there seat number tells them too. we have filled our allocation. If people sit in the seat that there tickets tell them too, it prevents families and groups that have booked together from being split up.

Let's hope we have 4000 tickets spread over say 6000 seats so everyone has room to stand/sit where they like.Problem at Port Vale was they penned away fans into the corner in just over 750 seats when they had sold 750 tickets in advance and had pay on the day too. don't think that will happen. I suspect they will ask us to sit in allocated seats, which most of the earlier people will happily do, and if people come in late and want to sit together they simply won;t be able to because only their seats will be left available. ON THIS OCCASION letting people sit where they like will cause more harm than good. If we were allowed in the entire south stand it would also mean both ends of 'our section' are near home fans, which won;t be the best from a stewarding /policing point of view. Also if people don't at least go in the block on their tkt / block entrance it could get very messy with people trying to get in the entrance that is 'easiest' for them.

There will be no cash sales on the day and supporters who travel without a ticket will not be able to gain admittance to the Ricoh Arena. Tickets for the match are still available from the Club Shop at the Memorial Stadium, which will remain open until 6.00pm this yesterday evening and until, 11.00am tomorrow. today Tickets purchased by phone today will be posted out this afternoon, purchases made after that will be taken to the Coventry City ticket office for collection on Saturday. Our supporters are asked to take note of the following information. Bars at the ground will be open pre-match and, depending on behaviour, they will reopen at half time. Stewards will only permit supporters to sit in their allocated seats.
Supporters are asked to be seated in good time for kick off to minimise disruption to fellow supporters. A no standing policy will be enforced as it obstructs the view of fellow supporters. Supporters are asked to arrive at gates early as there will be a strict search regime for everyone's safety. All coaches carrying Bristol Rovers supporters will be parked in Car Park C, which is a short distance from the stadium. The coaches will be transferred closer to the stadium at half-time so that supporters can exit the stadium after the game and straight into their respective coaches. We are advised that Car Parking is available at the ground and can be reserved by clicking HERE. Please be aware that there is strictly NO parking available in side streets near to the Ricoh Arena. A strict residents' parking scheme is enforced on event days as part of the Ricoh Arena’s green travel plan. This enforcement lies within two kilometres of the venue. Looks like the poll has decided it then. Are we actually gonna follow it or be like the Scottish Parliament and decide to ignore it because it hasn't gone in our favour? The poll has "decided it" for the users of this forum, but the users of this forum are a tiny minority of the number of Gasheads who will be at Coventry tomorrow (and a tiny minority of our fanbase in general). If I remember correctly, a recent poll on here showed that most people who use this forum are aged 50+. The majority of our younger fans don't use this forum, and I'm guessing will most likely have voted for the losing option. Should be fun!

I like a good singalong as much as the next supporter and will be turning up with 3 generations of Gasheads, both male and female, from my father-in-law at 85 to my nephew at 31. there is 2 car loads of us and we have made a point of making sure we bought tickets all at the same time so we have a block of seat together. The last thing i want is a conflict with a fellow Gashead over seating (Ala Plymouth last year, got very nasty for a minute or two) because they couldn't get themselves organised or don't like the seat they have been allocated. It leaves a bad taste and spoils the enjoyment of a good day out. So please sit in your allocated seat and don't be an arse if you have need a few too many. 4000+ Gas in full voice cheering the lads on to 3 points, that's what we all want isn't it? Not confrontation with the authorities or each other? See you all on Saturday, and yes i will be having a pint before the game and i fully intend to be very loud in the stadium, but with consideration for my fellow supporters. UTG Really well put, I hope you all enjoy the game! As someone who grew up on the Tote end in the 60's & 70's I still prefer to stand at games, and I think if there was safe standing areas at stadiums, we wouldn't have these issues. However, I think the attitude of some of our fans, at home as well as away, leaves a nasty taste sometimes. Some here have mentioned that Stewards & Police should respect the fans more, but do the fans respect the Club or their fellow fans? Majority I would say yes, but as ever the minority are just an embarrassment & a pain in the arse. Were Bristol Rovers, were loud & proud & if we are asked by our Club to sit in our seats & respect our fellow fans we will!

I went to Chelsea with my 6 yr old son, in front was a watered up lad ( 20 ish ?) who was obviously coked up as well . Constantly standing up despite my many initial polite requests for him to sit as my lad couldn't see. Eventually I was a little more direct....... It worked but could of easily escalated . He kept telling me " I always stand up" .... Making out I was a part timer etc . I could understand his point of view as I was young once..... But his point of view doesn't come above my sons actually point of view. Totally agree, Oxford was an absolute farce, my son (8) was forced to stand on a seat (which tips ) so he could see as the entire away section stood the whole game we are ST holders and have done about 8 away games also , so hardly part timers just a bit of consideration for the small and the older wouldn't go amiss

I'd be interested to know how the fans of the likes of Leeds, Manchester United etc. work it when they play away.
They take thousands to every game and the whole away following stands from the first to the last minute in every game.
I wonder if they all stand in front of their allocated seats or there's an understanding at those clubs that you stand where you want because everyone is going to stand anyway?

I'd happily sit in my allotted seat, but equally if that's taken by a big hard man, I'll sit cross legged on the floor. Enjoy the game💪🏻

They stand in front of their allocated seats. It's a pretty standard thing to do for all football clubs so don't know why half our fan base feel the need to be different.

According to the Rovers SLO Twitter account we have sold 4069 tickets so there might be a few spare seats anyway. UTG!

If/when we ever do reach the dizzy heights of the Championship and one day the promised land this scenario will be commonplace... We've been spoiled by having the option to stand through our gas supporting years! Can't wait for tomorrow, have a good feeling, hopefully we score 9 thus eradicating the need for anyone to be sat down for too long.

To be fair it is a problem for me as I have to sit down. IMO there should be areas where people can stand and where they definitely cant.

Give Coventry 20000 seats, us 10000.Sorted. Whilst that would be great, the Ricoh has a restricted capacity and there is also the issue of Coventry's season ticket seats. Maybe a beamback for the 75,000 locked outside would be good

I will attempt to sit in allocated seats with my 10 and 11 year old, but, if it's not safe or is uncomfortable for them or they aren't going to be able to see we'll sit somewhere else - I want them to have a great experience and remember the day they saw Rovers at coventry - that isn't going to be the case if they sit next to a foul mouthed guy who's had too much to drink, or end up on the edge of the section nearest coventry fans, or if they can't see the game!
There is as much onus on the stewards and police as on the fans, the number of times I've seen them make it worse is really frustrating,I just hope they don't kettle us in.
