“A new stadium has to be built. We cannot be sustainable if we stay at the Memorial,” Qadi says. “But we inherited this situation and we did find some issues which we had to address, and it takes time because UWE are a public institution; it’s not a private company where the CEO can say: ‘Let’s get rid of this condition.’ We hired Ernst & Young, they’re doing the feasibility study and they should be done very soon, so it’s a gradual process. But if we want to succeed, a new stadium has to happen.” June 1st... 'Today Hamer has spoken out in an interview with the club confirming that discussions are still very much in progress.' He assured fans that there was nothing to suggest that the stadium won’t happen. He said: “I have been very honest about that we are still talking and negotiations are taking place as we speak now. “So until one side or the other says we can’t do it or we don’t want to do it, we keep going on and we keep trying to achieve it." Today... Professor West said: “It is disappointing and very surprising. We felt we had made fantastic progress. We are disappointed that we haven’t been able to give Bristol Rovers and the local community a high quality stadium.” The Vice Chancellor claims he has had no contact from Dwane Sports despite sending emails. There are no meetings between the club and the university currently in the diary. Professor West said: “We are working off the assumption that there has been a pull out by Dwane Sports who have announced that they are closing discussions." I haven't heard this statement from UWE and if true and I have no reason to doubt it - shows a complete lack of professionalism by our leaders, announcing what their intentions are publicly rather than informing the other party formally in writing beforehand that they no longer wish to continue with the negotiations. Frankly disgraceful. I'm not sure I can trust this lot anymore. Just for clarification, why do you have no reason to doubt UWE spokesman you've never heard of before and not our club?

It's not a 'development' it's a fake account spouting as much sh** as he can to say I told you so. He also said in February that the deal between UWE is done. He's a fraud Meaning that gives you every reason to put me on the same level as him - a "joke." I'm exactly in the same position as you - A fan who wants the best for their club & no literally nothing about the situation. Stop being a b*tch - it's time for things like these to stop creating "disputes" between fans, when really we only know what everyone else knows. I retract my comment about you. But you know and have been told many times on here that those accounts are rubbish yet continue to post them.

Tw*t. It's not a 'development' it's a fake account spouting as much sh** as he can to say I told you so. He also said in February that the deal between UWE is done. He's a fraud

Seems strange to stop advance ticket sells on the Wednesday before the game. I would think the only reason for this is that sales of advance tickets have virtually dried up. It would had been nice of the club to tell us exactly how many advance tickets we have sold. if we knew, it would tell us how many fans actually pay on the day! But typical Rovers, they like keeping things secret! They did say how many sold? 1729

Would like to think Smith would be number 1 Northampton fans were gutted he left and thought he be going to championship. Where as Blackpool didn't offer slocombe an extension to stay But watching slocombe pre season he's looked very good and calm. I'd be happy with either at the moment!

I don't know what we're worried about? I thought we held our own against them last year. 😂 We'll still finish above them even if they do dick us twice again. It was strange that they did that to us last year and then lost so many games to teams that we had already beaten. Tbf, our home game I'm sure they only had 5 shots all game? Nichols just didn't want to save anything during that period of time. And away from home we played our reserves.

We signed the lad Bola, on Loan from Arsenal Yes i know and he played very well against WBA, but do you think he could replace Brown ?? I'm hoping so as I too feel brown is becoming a weak spot! I think Bola made more challenges in the 2nd half against West Brom than Brown did last season.

If this is it it's been a very disappointing summer recruitment campaign. Yes we've spent a bit of cash but that's just the Chelsea cup tie and Taylor transfer money, no evidence of hamer's claim we have a top six budget and certainly no evidence the al quadis are investing any money any time soon in the playing side. As it stands mid table at best. I'm glad you've commented on something other than wael's money input..... oh wait

[br We were going for broke trying to score and left sinclair to mark their striker which was a no win situation if it came to one on one.JCS was quite a way forward and had no chance of cathing the striker and looked very heavy legged and way out of fitness That's not true. He had every chance of catching the striker, but he didn't try. No,no,no,no,no. That's highlights. How could you possibly tell. You're wrong and I'm right. Just because you don't understand football like I do, he's not lazy.

Judging by the traffic chaos around Downend and Frenchay this morning some work has begun on tne ring road viaduct on Bromley Heath Road. So anyone hoping to make it in time for the first home game better leave now. I know it needs doing and mods feel free to move but thought worth a post in case anyone doesn't know or wants to make alternative travel arrangements, car shares etc That's why I'm glad I live in the leafy suburbs of Lawrence Weston!! Nothing wrong with LW. Grew up there and I've turned out almost okay.

Oh here is again. Disappears from the forum for months and then pops up with another "I told you so" thread. Careful not to disagree with any of his opinions mind; not sure if he's mentioned it before, but he's a scout don't you know? Also Harrison is better than we think and it's definitely leaving us don't you know? So we can be proved wrong once again by chief scout

That's my point, at the same age as Nichols, Matty Taylor had never even played at league level. Before signing for Rovers, the most Taylor had scored at Conference level in a season was 10. I remember the stick Taylor got when he first signed, he's nowhere near good enough, why are we signing Forest Green cast offs? We'll never get out The Conference if we're signing players like this. Taylor wasn't great in the air, wasnt a brute, and didn't have blistering pace either. He improved immensely and within 2 years he was the most prolific striker we've had in 20 odd years. With this in mind, Nichols could also improve and get 20+ a season at this level. I can't see it myself with Nichols, but hope you're right and I'm wrong. But could you see it wIth taylor?? He couldn't hit a barn door to start with. That's his point

Just because you have one view and other posters have another view doesn't mean your view is right and theirs wrong, after all forums are all about posters having opinions. Perhaps you should bear that in mind before posting.what's the adate pot.kettle.black Keep coming on here telling people your right and we're wrong. We get it, you've done a bit a scouting doesn't mean others opinions are wrong.

Perhaps if I was a mind reader it would help as I how was I supposed to know the flight was delayed? Regardless flying home one day/playing the next is hardly the best of planning neither does playing Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. It's a bout fitness not results. So Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday is fine by me. Silly comment

DC seems to be a fan of the 4-2-3-1 formation atm. Is that because he doesn't want to throw Tom Nichols in straight away or do you reckon we'll be seeing that formation a lot this season? I thought it was more of a 4-3-3?

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40593280Blackpool boss Gary Bowyer says high wage demands are making it more difficult to sign players in the summer transfer window. The Tangerines have brought in seven new faces so far this summer, with Jimmy Ryan the latest addition. But Bowyer, 46, says recruiting has become harder since they were promoted back to League One. "It's all part and parcel of the chase and we're doing okay at the moment," he told BBC Radio Lancashire. "We do realise that we're competing in a league now where the salaries have gone up a hell of a lot from League Two. "You get excited because you've been offered the chance to sign a player but you get deflated very quickly when you hear his wage demands." Being unable to pay players high wages has forced Bowyer to look at taking players on trial. He continued: "You've got to keep your options open. Competition for players at this moment in time is frantic, and if players are available on trial, it's something I'm not opposed to doing. "It gives you the chance to look at them at close quarters before you actually commit to a contract." And they have brought in 7 players, i would have been content at this stage to have brought that many in if we were looking at 10 signings No you wouldn't. You'd probably be moaning that they're all on the cheap and that's you'd rather we brought in more quality over quantity. We can never win
