Okay. As I said before: I'm not saying that the stand shouldn't be built, only that Bristol Rovers applied for planning permission way too late to get it in time, and apparently have decided to just say screw it and build the stand without planning permission, in the assumption that they will get retroactive permission. So I have no idea what you're providing evidence for. btw, afaik, councillors are meant to consider the application in isolation and aren't meant to look at the behaviour of the club. So this looks like a fait accompli. Yes, people living next to a stadium should expect crowd noise and improvements in the ground, but I don't think any of the neighbours was expecting this level of disrespect of planning process laws from Bristol Rovers. That is interesting, so effectively the local residents are more concerned around process than the work itself. I see that as a real positive and something that is easily solved, if the club apologises to the locals for not following due process do you think they would remove their objections and encourage the local agreement councillor to back the works? That would be a positive outcome for all parties and everyone can move on with their lives👌 That nails it for me scottleroc, problem is as I see it , if the club had engaged in consultation with neighbours etc, we all know, though can't prove we would be exactly where we are now with spurious objections !

Or BCC have just got around to uploading them? Some of them have referred to being told about the build today..... Most are repeating the same theme though to do with increased capacity/more traffic (someone seemed to think 2000 extra seats meant 2000 extra cars......) and light issues for those in Downend Road. Difficult to see how the increase in attendance is a strong argument given i t's just going back to where it was and it's pretty likely most complainants moved to the area knowing there was a stadium with rovers always looking at options to increase capacity. Some genius has even suggested making the stadium car park bigger - not sure how that would be possible without knocking down a few houses...... Not sure the light argument stands either for those on Downend Rd when you look at how far from the stand their back gardens actually are. On a sunny day I can't see any shadows from the stand reaching that far especially given they are south of the site. Just a thought and a genuine question. Is /was the mem licensed by the council to hold sporting events with a maximum capacity ? If so ,surely that would negate that objection ?

Don’t know about everyone else, but that’s 3 really good football signings. Regardless of the baggage, I think this shows some real intent in the first time in a long time…. Personally i would say 4 adding Grant Ward

I had a quick look but got bored with the endless deluded twaddle. Apparently we a typical Barton side, a sort of downmarket Wycombe. The sort that sit near the top of the table, not propping it up. For a supposedly established league 1 side who are usually challenging for play off spot I thought Oxford looked pretty ordinary & didn’t even know Bodin was on the pitch until he got substituted. Genuine question, i can't make my mind up whether they were ordinary or our performance made them look ordinary !

UTG, Performances continuing like this I worry how long we can keep hold of JB, a revelation this guy. Great stuff, a joy to watch. I agree totally, but I feel JB will stay tbh, he has an agenda that I feel he will want to see through. Not saying its definite but a feeling if I'm honest hasn't he signed a four year deal ?

Depends on whether someone has a closed mind or not You think? But in any event suggesting we all read a book written by this man on the basis of some amateur hour theories expressed within it, without any supporting evidence, is...equally nonsensical. As i qualified therapist i can tell you there is a lot of case study evidence , thankyou for answering the question

On a different note, the comments about JB promising promotion, if anyone has access to his book read the bit about his conversation with Peter Schnichael and the psychologists amongst us will understand. Couldn't you just explain it to us? copyright dear chap Basically its a kind of self hypnosis,.

For me the biggest thing i took away from yesterday was that last season we would have lost that game by a wide margin, this group of players left nothing out there and i truly believe they played to keep their shirt.
No one could be accused of giving less than 100% and any critisism of any individual would be unfair, that in my book makes us fair and worthy winners.
Evans i thought grew into the game and got better as the game progressed and i think when fully up to speed will be a very important player for us, we now have clarke and pitman who could play a half each with players with pace around them. Finlay is the heart beat and good to watch plus we always seem to have a strong bench.
I think the future is bright but still a little way in the distance.

It's obvious Barton is struggling to attract a decent striker here. Struggling to "attract" pirate or just aren't the right ones available ?

He never had to sign the contract and could have left for a cut price fee, he didn’t he signed it so Rovers would get good money if someone were to come in for him Didn't Barry Hayles do something similar, or am I mistaken? I seem to recall another player doing something similar anyway. Junior aggogo definately did

When was the last time we had a creative midfielder? Someone who could pick a pass, pick up a stray ball and go with it, find a run by a striker, bang in a 20 yrd free kick, take the pressure off the defence by holding it? David Williams? alonside Wayne Jones would be a pairing !

Clearly, some are more equal than others and these people keep using the reference "family club" Well it is clear that Rovers are not a family club surely you mean not "your family club"

I was going to start bringing my grand children along, their very young and won't watch a match for 90mins so thought it would be somewhere to take them when they get restless, won't be able to now, so that is two lost at a time when we need to start bringing more youngsters in, so it is important that supporters are treated properly and kids encouraged to go to games. I probably won't bother myself either. So where was everyone else supposed to take their young grandchildren? Clearly, some are more equal than others and these people keep using the reference "family club"

Agreed, makes sense for both parties. I have a funny feeling that both Westbrooke and Hanlan will leave and be a success elsewhere, leaving us scratching our heads as to why they couldn't perform to the same level for us. I have a frightening feeling that if no one is willing to match their salary they will stay !
