There must be some benefits surely? I’d quite like to join a revamped supporters club ( that’s for the greater good ) but I’m not just gonna hand over £10 (?) for nothing . What do we get , incentivise people . Yattongas, That is one helluva challenge because, at this moment in time, I am simply a BRSC member and have no authority to talk on their behalf. Neither do I have any adequate answers to your questions, or those from some of the other members in this thread. I certainly cannot guarantee that you will receive any additional financial benefits by paying your BRSC membership fee. However, in an odd way, you have answered your own question. In recognizing that your membership and your Membership Fee would be “for the greater good”, isn’t that itself a reason for joining. At the moment, all I can say is that: - In joining the revamped BRSC, you will have the opportunity to influence the way in which the BRSC acts in the future, for the benefits of its members, and
- In joining the BRSC, you would be provided with a route by which your views can be made known to the Board of BRFC, via your own nominated Fans Director (s), and
- In joining the BRSC, you would increase the powers that the Fans Director(s) would have in promoting those views to the Board of BRFC.
It is an act of faith, but who knows where that may lead with a new tranche of younger members with new ideas.

I am Steve Lamble, and thanks.
As posted in the AGM Notes, see above, BRSC has a legal undertaking from BRFC to accept 2 Supporters Reps on the Board. There were only two nominees from BRSC and hence the fact that there was no need for a ballot with the Supporters Club. However, having submitted both of those names, BRFC now feel that it is only appropriate to allow one Rep from BRSC onto the Board. I do not know the outcome of those discussions as yet.
However, one thing that I would stress is the importance of joining the Supporters Club if you want to have your views heard properly. In recent weeks, the Supporters Club has made massive strides in repairing the relationship with the Football Club and the fact that we will have at least one Rep on the Board represents progress over the last 2/3 years.
It is very easy to use the anonymity of the forums to post your points of view about the running of the Club. You will very shortly have the opportunity to put those views formally. Please join the Supporters Club and take advantage of that opportunity.
The Supporters Club has openly asked for an influx of ideas from the younger members - please do not ignore this appeal. Bristol Rovers and the Supporters Club can only prosper with your help.

Rather than irresponsible argument between ourselves about the past, isn't it time for people to come up with sensible and constructive ideas of how they would like to see the Supporters Club run for the future good of the club

I was really looking forward to another rendition of "We Are The Champions" at the Mem. Looks like we'll have to wait for May 2022 until that happens!!!

Apologies to all but I just wanted to "bump" this thread so that I could find it to re-read over the next few hours. Preparing for the EGM Steve? Trying to put some things into context before making some decisions

It's 522 days since our last league win over Sunderland JCH 2 goals 10 March 2020 when there were fans in attendance. Thought that was great at the time, but in retrospect wish we'd lost that game 6-0. Then everything would have been different. Welcome back AF

Now I am really confused!!!!!! I renewed my existing season ticket at the beginning of the summer and was definitively advised, at that time, that the existing "Plastic Ticket" would be updated and would now be valid for the 2021/22 season - This is exactly what happened last year and it all worked fine. I was therefore expecting to troll up on saturday with my old season ticket which would get me into the game. I was not expecting to receive one of these e-mails but, lo and behold, a pdf ticket landed in my inbox late yesterday evening. Apparently, this is the only way to get into the game - but I now have no idea whether the old Plastic Ticket is valid!!!! From what I have read it won’t be valid and tickets will be sent until new cards are sorted, that is how I have taken it but I could always be wrong Thanks KP

I am with the OP on this one. I didn't go yesterday and in the main it was for exactly the reasons described by ilysagas. I used to target going to about 7 or 8 away games per season and often tried to extending the trips into weekend breaks. However, I have ben gradually finding these away trips less and less enjoyable over the past few years and, as is the case with the OP, I actually find that the experience of watching the game itself can be quite uncomfortable and that discomfort is created entirely by our own "fans". It has gotten to the extent that I would be too embarrassed to invite a friend to the game and I DEFINITELY wouldn't take a kid. We pride ourselves for being a family club - but the behaviour of some of our fans at away games is severely damaging this reputation. I am not sure why this would be as I still enjoy the atmosphere at the Mem, which is entirely different (despite the standard of football). As an away fan you have little if any options on where you can sit or stand. At the mem there is potential to choose from 10 different areas in the ground for home fans. I accept that there is a problem with "seat Allocation" when buying tickets for an away game, even moreso now that the ticketing is handled by TicketMaster (presumably outside of the control of the Club). For too long there has been no system that is able to segregate our own away fans to accommodate their respective needs to enable them to enjoy the experience of watching the football. Isn't is a travesty that we have to even consider the need to segregate our own fans at an away game - but unless that happens, I am convinced that fewer and fewer supporters will want to go as a "family day out". We need the next generation of Gasheads to ensure that the club can progress and we shouldn't allow a small minority of "fans" to put that in jeopardy.

Is this still about the SC election or who's first up against the wall? don't they amount to the same thing?

I realize this may stoke a fire, but that is not my intention. Genuine question: What happened to the SC chairman elections? I have some recollection that some of the nominees we barred from running or pulled out? I only joined the SC to have a vote in this but have had literally zero communication from the SC since joining. I was/am one of the SC Members and put myself up for election for the SC representative on the BRFC Board of Directors. That was a while ago and the election was due to be held at the AGM of the Supporters Club - however that AGM was subsequently delayed because of the Pandemic and COVID restrictions. The Secretary of the SC has recently contacted me to see if I still want to be put forward and has advised that they are currently trying to re-organise the AGM, when the election will be held, for sometime in the next few weeks. I am awaiting the final details but it seems that things might be sorted soon. BAGGINS will be very pleased to hear that my priority will be to sort the sausage roll situation out
