Even the team photo looks amateur, not quite up there with Santa's Grotto but not far off. P.S Anybody know how to make the image larger and insert it? Insert it where?

What struck me more anything was the way every player showed massive commitment to the cause. It may not have been pretty but it was a joy to see.

And a great avatar it is too, inee. However, the prize for best avatar has to go to curlywurly's pic of a dead robin. Pure genius.

My mate Dave was really impressed with the amount of time DC spent talking to supporters. He seemed genuinely interested in what everyone had to say too, apparently.

It's a shame for Higgins but it sounds like Leadbitter's the real deal. However, I'm sure that the rave reviews won't have gone unnoticed by other clubs and DC is sure to give a good reference. Will probably sign for a competitor and score a hat trick against us.

When it came to signing a reserve keeper, DC said that, with his limited funds, his priorities lie elsewhere. This is probably also true of right back/wing back as he has Lockyer and others that can provide cover if required.

I just found this a more cheerful bunch of characters . Dont get me wrong I know that we have had a rough time lately but I really dont need it rammed down my throat every 5 minutes. There just seemed less doom and gloom merchants on this forum. We're doomed! Doomed I tell ye!

We have never met to my knowledge but thank you for your update via twitter which enabled me to check in as on holiday. I recognise your sentiments and get at least as frustrated with the attitude of so called supporters as events on the pitch. I note already barbed comments aimed at DC for failings in recruitment or on the pitch for what are utterly meaningless games. God help him and the team if this club fails to unite by 9th Aug. I didnt always like how he came accross at the meeting he was quite unproffessional and i felt he tried to hard to say things we wanted to hear. I liked his passion and optimism though. As a coach he is well respected at this level and he is trying to play football the right way which is really positive. Im more worried about the quantity then quality at this stage as cant claim to know a lot of his signings. I do believe we need an experienced striker and at least two more creative midfielders. We have a gret keeper and defence for this level but im not sure withtje reat of the side yet. I wish him good luck and hope he is as good as he keeps telling us. He's probably just young enough to have received the "come out with meaningless platitudes and kiss the shirt at every opportunity" media training that all players seem to get these days.

Dins , i really wouldnt worry what other people say or type on a fotum/twitter people will always have different opionions to each other ... some found last night a positive experience, personally i was glad they held and it and appriciate that they did but i found some of the answers to SOME questions ranged from bewildering to just not good enough and there was too little depth to some answers , however i was hugely impressed by DC and also very pleased with Chris Jelf and would love to see him offered the Chairman role as he is a much more assured operator when public speaking and has a much more positive manner. I thought despite his claims Nick Higgs was very defensive and often bordering on very angry at the fact some people dared to question his answers. I thought Barry Bradshaw spoke very well and at least offered some changes , I thought Toni Watola bumbled his way through with no real conviction and hasnt lifted any fears i have about the clubs finances both presently and in the UWE led future. BSS had no real role to play did a speech saying how important fans are and that was it really no actual input beyond that (not a criticism as such there just wasnt anything for him to add too) Ken masters had a tricky job of controlling the meeting but he caused issues with his manner and attitude at times, im sure Ken is lovely bloke but last night i saw a person who was not prepared to let some people have there say (when it suited him!) and he's comment early in the meeting to a chap at the back of the room was a disgraceful way to spaek to a supporter (claiming the chap had been scowling at him since 7pm) the poor bloke was only trying to finish asking his question, he also replied to a question about future support and proceeded rambled on for ages about the work in the community and the study programme (a great thing by the way but totally irrelevent to the question asked) all we wanted was to know why the quid a kid scheme wasnt perminent and what other/NEW methods were being used to find the next generation of gasheads!! This is my Biggest issue with Rovers , The cheap Kids ST with an adult is great but withat least 3000 empty spaces at the ground every week IMO under 12's at least should be FREE! we may lose a small amount ion that in short term but in 5-10 years you will have a young fan base hooked on the gas and will earn the club more than its moneys worth when then turn 13/16/18... but thats prob best for another thread on its own!! Great post. Really useful for those of us who couldn't be there.

I would imagine the BOD will be less tense and defensive too the more of these we have. Sounds at the least like a good start. You're probably right there, Hugo. Mr Higgs probably felt like he was about to be thrown to the lions, bearing in mind some of the bile and vitreol directed at him of late (so hats off to him for turning up). Perhaps now we can develop a more constructive dialogue going forwards.

I have to strongly disagree with this statement... It's a different strike force scoring nowt.

That's a very attacking formation but is it allowed within the rules of the game?

Maybe Mr Clarke cannot get an "OK" from the top at the moment................ DC claims he hasn't signed anyone because they either dont want to sign for us or want too much money. Maybe its as simple as that ? A sensible answer like that won't satisfy the conspiracy theorists.
