Saturday we really need to be the third man...just watched DC's post Exeter interview and he said exactly what I have felt..that we need to behind the lads from the start and be patient but keep the singing going all game as this is the biggest game of the season now... Like he said those who don't normally sing please do so and make it an inspiring atmosphere...come on gasheads...lets do this... we need to put away one of our early chances tomorrow to settle the nerves If we don't we have to be patient and sing now matter what...as their feel the nervous atmosphere

Cant say I agree with this fellas in my time watching the Gas I have never seen three sides singing the same song, so it aint gonna just happen unless someone or something makes it happen. Any other ideas? Did you ever go to Twerton?
The terrace in front of the main stand would join in with the open end and Popular Side in a rendition of Gerry Francis Blue & White Army!!! Happy Days!!!
They were great days....

After watching on TV that amazing spectacle of Liverpool fans singing their anthem, do you think Nick can get all three sides singing Irene with scarves aloft just before the kick off? This could be so inspirational for the team to know we are all together as one and may make just enough difference to clinch it? Words on the scoreboard?
Great idea and right behind that...

Of course Lockyer can be compared to Tilson or anyone else who someone sees the similarities in playing styles with. We all know the `divisions` said players played in. And I thought Steve Yates played in the third division and championship with Rovers?!! I know it's always difficult to compare teams and players from different era's, but I do believe that the football of the present is better than in previous years. This is down to the Prem, and to some extent the Championship having a large number of foreign players. This means that home nation players have to compete lower down the league pyramid, so the standard in leagues one and two is now higher than its ever been. I think that's why we've had an opportunity to re- sign Browner and Tom. With goal scorers it's a bit more difficult, everyone wants a 20 goal a season man (except tbone) and in the past MT would be gone. I only hope that a combination of Darrell and the new owners money can persuade him to stay. UTG. Football is better now than in the 90's??? I guess you weren't a regular at twerton then?? The 90's had the best rovers team to me and the fact that yates/Holloway/penrice/Martyn/Bailey all went on to play in the premiership surely proves that...back then we played 44-2 every week and played with out and out wingers which made it very exciting to watch and we never gave the ball away as much as we do these days....Don't get me wrong I love watching every week and we play the best football in l2 apart from Pompey which I think we're on par with football wise and before everyone starts shouting we're better as we are 3rd at the moment I'm just talking about football style...but since the 90's it hasn't changed that much apart from formations and if man Utd 90's team played in the prem now they would win it( I hate Utd so just an example) and for £4K a week if he's not on that he should be...in the conference south I know players who are on £750 a week so 4K is cheap....

So glad for him and glad as all the so called fans in here slagging him off and he's one of the main reasons why we're where we are...born striker and will always score goals, let's hope they pay to keep him as those kinda strikers are hard to come by...UTG

While you were writing that I was looking at the (league) table, wondering how on earth we managed to win 6 out of 7 matches. Yeah and I would like to see if we don't go up why fans think we didn't?? Let's hope we don't have to talk about it...

In the 90's when we won the 3rd division Francis would never drop Holloway cause the opposition had tall midfield players or play a different formation it's all come in from foreign managers and I don't agree with it, normally makes a boring game as the players aren't normally sure where they should be on the pitch and never seems to get the best out of them...

I totally agree leads should be in the line up every week, I don't agree you play a different team to counter act your opponents strengths(well maybe alittle) but I think you should concentrate more on your own strengths and leads would be in there all the time if that's the case and yet again proved it against Cambridge...the lads need to know a starting eleven that is the best out of the bunch and it's all done on merit and their strengths will only get better, it's not premiership standard that players can swap week to week from playing to a different position or not playing at all! Monty was joint m.o.m for me against Cambridge and dragged him off?? You can't do that to a lad who has been very patient all season and leave players on who don't have the legs anymore...at any standard especially after watching England vs Holland it shows it hardly pays to change formation and players positions?? I think I would be very watered off if I waited a while for my chance took it with both hands and proved a point to be dragged off so early...he will lose the players if that Carrys on...you earn your spot you stay..play to our strengths and try not to be too clever trying to cancel there's out....before if a team had a star player you had one or two mark him not change formation..watching rovers at twerton I knew the line up before the game as I knew who played well the week before and everyone had to fight to get in...leads for me every time as long as he played to his best and there's more to come from him as well... I get it, keeping Montano happy was more important than making sure we didn't get a hammering on Monday? Surely that's the type of thinking which led to us being relegated to the Conference? If you read properly what I wrote your see I'm saying having a team that play every week together and to their strenghs is better and more consistent than playing different systems and players every week?? I don't think that's an attitude of someone who wants a team relegated Never mind you don't get it

3 wins from the last six is hardly in form. Apologies just realised its 4 out of last six still not as good as ours 5 out of last six. I wasn't saying it was I just meant their playing better than they were and have the easier run in...I know bottom teams are all fighting for their lives but I think their be there at the end and realistically play offs is something we would all happily taken at the start of the season...

Plymouth might struggle against Exeter as their in form... Accrington in my opinion and to be completely honest has the best run in til the end and are in form...so I can see Northampton/Oxford/Accrington being the top 3 and then argyle/us/Portsmouth/Wycombe...lets hope we get argyle or Wycombe... 3 wins from the last six is hardly in form. It's 4 wins from 6 and with Plymouth being one of those, drawn one and lost to Pompey so their not playing too bad? I'll be happy with play off as we have Northampton/Yeovil/Exeter and Stevenage can be dodgy place to go
