I'm getting loads of texts from a mate who has a source in rovers that taylor is off to city and it's a done deal!!! I f**king hope not...maybe that's why he was so called injured and James played??? James isn't good enough to fill his boots..... Not good enough yet. Remember how everyone thought Taylor was sh**e for the first year? and he played every game. We have seen some good touches from James in the 2 or 3 periods that he has played. He will get better. Meanwhile City will not buy Taylor. Like MOST clubs they look to buy from the league above. Only Rag Bag Rovers hope to get a player on the cheap from a lower league Hope your right....but have a bad feeling about it...let's hope we get crazy money out the sh*te for him if he does

In my opinion the players leaving should be...manse/James Clarke/Harrison/gosling/Ollie Clarke.... He needs to buy 2 midfield(play maker, work horse)centre back/
A keeper and a striker....
Then play 4-4-2 and keep it simple, with the rest of the Lads there's still enough talent and enough spirit to contend for top 6 Oh and keep taylor as we haven't got enough funds to buy a proven striker and he is.... My fear is we are budgeting to buy everyone's unwanted players rather than their best players...but there's a lot of clubs in our position!!!

So fed up of idiots saying get rid of Taylor...brain dead morons that shouldn't have an opinion...he's a proven goal scorer who will go through quiet spells...he's still scoring( ok penalties) but if he has a quiet game we certain people expect him to score every game or he's a target...Harrison should be a target as he's shocking and not league one standard, selling him now and be done with it,I'm sure taylor wants to go to get a big signing on fee to secure his future but we should keep him as we won't be able to buy a player with a proven record like him... It will be interesting to see how much we will be willing to spend on any players if we do buy any??? I can't see us willing to spend the money clubs will want for their best players and if their not their best then we shouldn't take gambles on anything else as we're in league one now not the conference and it has to be proven...,

The lads we have on loan have made a massive difference to our squad and feel the best is yet to come from them, our squad hasn't looked so healthy since the Francis years. but it makes me think that their in a funny situation in their careers...their getting great experience in a tough league but their along way off premiership first team football but I hope their clubs stick with them and loan them out til their ready to take their chance in their first teams. What I hope doesn't happen but will evidently will happen is their getting the price tag up and then sold to championship teams and the revenue is put towards buying foreign players or wages etc... We should have the limit on foreign players at all levels and all money and time spent on academy football will be repaid in first teams players, I love we have such great identity with our players we have as their playing for each other and show great togetherness compared to a lot of premiership teams that are full of individuals playing for crazy money...

Is it me or is it really obvious that Harrison isn't up to league one's standard? Gaffney on a bad day is a much better rounded player as in hold up play/ effort/skill/making space and runs behind the defence!!! Gaffney was great against the posh last week and can't see why he wouldn't start last night? Harrison was clueless to when and where to run or either lazy to make the effort? I'm going with clueless as surely you would be fighting for your spot in his position...just my thoughts If he was resting gaffney Harrison isn't up to it... What I thought was a shame and I bet Rory must have thought himself was the fact we played 4-4-2 last night all night which would suit him better as he had more service infront of goal as normally he's forced out wide with Darrell's normal formations...

Roos 4 awfull error otherwise not a great deal to do,looked good last week Leadbitter 8 back to his best taking people on and always a threat Lockyer 6 good for the most part, got done for their winner Clarke-Salter 7 looked class at times Brown 8 his best game for a while Sinclair 8 very good again, couple of poor choices when in their box O. Clarke 7 one of his better games Lines 6 passing not so good today, wish he would let fly every now and again Colkett 7 some lovely clever passes Taylor 5 again not at his best but kept going Gaffney 6 ran them ragged at times wish he would stay more central at times Subs: Harrison 4 did nothing Easter 6 kept the ball moving well Crowd 7 Ref 2 can't believe the standard of these refs Peterborough 5 mugged us,nothing special o clarke 7??? I thought he was awful...he's so slow off the mark!! Playing lines and Clarke together to me isn't great at this level as there's far too many holes in midfield when they play together...gaffney was m.o.m for me and do feel sorry for top two as we don't seem to find balls on the deck behind the back four an easy thing to do and most of the time it's at gaffney's head....

I can see where your coming from...I agree That he shouldn't really be captain...(although none of us sees what goes on behind the scenes and he might be the natural leader with the lads), tom's commitment is great and I would say along with sincs it's highest in the team...he's one of the worst in giving the ball away and thumping it up upfront and putting everyone on the back foot after working hard to get hold of it..not a great thing to have as captain...lines should be captain in my eyes. Most experienced and seems to do a lot of the talking anyway...we have to remember the centre forwards and general attacking play has been a lot higher than what everyone has been use too...I don't think he should be dropped, just give captains arm band to linesy and see how he gets on

I personally think gaffney will play out of his skin this season without Taylor as he wont play so deep, he will be confident that he's the number one man upfront and sure to see good things come of it...abit sad if Taylor goes to Oxford as for one the club should have dug alittle more to take another gamble on him to do the same in league one and sad that he's not ambitious enough to stay with us and see it could take him a lot further...now roofe has gone I think Oxford will struggle so good luck to him and come on gaffers...we do need another striker though but unless Swansea do a deal as I know mccburnie is on £20,000 a month we can't afford him for the season

I think a lot of people need to take a reality check and I expect it's the same people who were slagging Matty off during the season even though he was the leagues top goal scorer and if it was for his goals and perfomances we wouldn't have gone up??? Yeah he missed a few one on ones etc but it's easy to forget a lot of other mistakes players make like out of position or missed tackles??? To be fair he's trying to secure his future financially which you can't blame as football is a very short career and could be finished at every chance...me personally I hope he signs for us again and if he doesn't then good luck to him..I just feel people can turn on players far too easily these days.... Turning on players is unfortunately a hobby we've all had at one time or another. Yes I agree but just angers me as some people don't ever take a step back

The difference in salary between the Premier League and lower leagues is very big. In the Championship the average salary is between £4.000 and £5.000 a week. The top players in the Championship earn around £8.000 to £9.000 a week. The average salary in League One is between £1.700 and £2.500, and in League Two it’s between £1.300 and £1.500. Just out of interest where are those figures from? [br www.onaverage.co.uk/money-averages/average-premier-league-salary

Kind of agree with you. It's clear he wants a move and we are his 2nd choice and back up option. The rumoured £7k per week we have offered him is a decent wedge for someone that I'm sure was on little over £500 per week a few season ago. I will always be grateful for Taylor's efforts these past 2 seasons and would love him to stay but this is starting to leave a bad taste in the mouth and shouldn't have dragged on this far. Some Gasheads have been listening to many fairy stories, he has been offered less than half of that. The difference in salary between the Premier League and lower leagues is very big. Great shout...could be his song as gaffney has his and he does terrify them when he's running at them and deserves a good song

Plymouth fan i know rates him, will be great alongside locks, parkes would have been fourth in the pecking order. Great signing. Defence now sorted. Great signing..very committed player that plays with a great passion and his threat on set pieces have to be a big bonus..
