Funny how fans see things differently, I thought Coutts was head and shoulders above any player on that pitch. Always offered himself for the easy ball, lots of interceptions, tackles, always involved. Anderson looked much more comfortable at left back rather than left of 3 man defence. Carlisle definitely not a poor side, got decent players we will play much worse sides. We scored 3 very good goals, brilliant bit of skill by evans for the first and a brilliant pass and finish for the third. Still a bit shaky at the back at times, but to be expected with a young back line and will improve. I thought the same. His legs aren't gone and if he keeps that up he will become a important player for us.Whelan looks f**ked tho.Legs completely gone, no pace..nothing, just like pitman.

Well done to Squiffy for getting our best result for a long time! I thought it was two poor sides but we were the better out of the two. They offered nothing. We are Punchless but we do have 5 or six players that are a base of a decent team.

Two things I noticed in last two days with the Youth of Bristol.
First was yesterday, I've got to get bus to and from work at the moment.Anyway, I'm on the 17 home to Kingswood.I get on the bus at fishponds road and sit in front of about 10 Rovers youth team members.
All kitted out in gas kit and holding official BRFC documents.
I hear two kids (16-17 years old talking about past games and yesterdays events.Anyway, I got off at the stop in staple hill as one boy that was talking got off also, and I was shocked at how out of shape he was when he walked in front of me.
He looked about 16 years old, about 5,9 inch tall and must had been 14 plus stone.I know he is a kid and it's not a water take but he walked with a clubbed foot and did not look like he belonged to a professional football club outfit even at youth level.
I get he could he the next Ronaldo or at least a L2 future player for us, but it shocked me how out of shape he was.
So how good is our youth set up currently given what I saw?
....
And 2nd, today also after work I walked home thru a park near my house in Kingswood and saw a full side game going on between teen kids after school.
I watched about 10mins of it, decent standard tbf - but I was shocked at how many boys were wearing Sh1!heads shirts...on both teams.
In deep Gas land, I see as many Gas shirts as City now .
Now that's an Issue.

Say if Mangotsfield,Bristol Manor farm, Yate... ever got big financial backing like Forest green/ Salford have do you think either of them could build a fanbase that could support a L2 club or above?
I think both Bath City and Weston super Mare could if they had the stadium and finance.

I think the whole “your lucky to have a club” thing is downright patronising bullshit. There was a Bristol Rovers for 130 odd years before you Mr Al Qaedi and there will be one long after you have gone. Our club is more than a legal entity it is a community. The ownership is a massive part of the problem, in refusing to accept responsibility for the problems he has created I cannot see how he can possibly rectify them Wael Out Is that what he said as I didn't see it?

Board has full support of Joey He has risen from these situations of difficulty (allegedly). He thinks that will happen at Rovers. That was it. Then a load of gasheads sharing their opinions. Not worth turning the TV on for. If that's the case then we are truly f**ked. A guy that has been supported 100% for this level and in L1. He blames everyone but himself for last season ( I somewhat agree..) then this,is his squad and he has already raised the white flag.... Wael, I know his heart is in the right place and has put the cash in, but this has gone beyond a joke and is pointing towards non league again. £24 written off for ending up at level five again.... I'm sorry, there will be no DC to save us this time... This really could be the end of our club if the right action is not taken in the next few weeks.

This is Bristol reporting that he said to wael if you want me to go I'll leave without compensation, but Wael is fully behind him. Your thoughts? Basically he is saying he is giving up and not good enough. That's a Awlful sign. Wael now is as much to blame for what happens in the future as Barton given not excepting JB offer.

Loads of goals in that line up, not sure we will score many... Only two of those starters are not JB signings. Harris was sh** last year and AK is gas. No excuse today. His team. His pre - Season, his tactics.Everything. We lose today he has to go.Simple.

If the Players were to come good as a Team the signs would be there for all to see and I see no evidence of that happening. Bristol Rovers under Barton with the season barely 8 games old already have one foot in the National League. Normally I would say it's too early to believe such a catastrophe was likely but we are being led by someone whose head is engaged elsewhere, distracted by upcoming events. He is clearly not in the right place to be in charge of the Team and the longer Wael dithers over Barton the more serious damage will be inflicted upon us. Waiting for the result of a trial in December should not be an option when the future of the Club is at stake. Waiting for his Team to come good under his command is fools gold. Sack him now and put Hargreaves in charge for a trial period. Best post I've seen on here in years. My thoughts 100%.🤝👏 I was pro Barton with his appointment, and didn't blame him at the time for our relegation given how bad the players were under BG and PT.They were no doubt Dam useless but JB still should ( looking back on it) got much more out of them in a effort to survive. In hindsight his words in the press about how bad there were and wanting to get rid of them all was totally embarrassing. He gave up and blamed all but himself. This is now his squad, and they are worse than last year's simple fact. 8 games is enough time to begin to create a season of battling relegation. He knows he is not here for the long term, and his shocking signings of his OAP mates suggests he didn't have the interest or knowledge to attract any other players to a club with one of the top budgets in the league. He needs to go now. See this is now about us getting someone in that can generate enough points for us to remain in L2 simple. Its not negative, just logical. Forget us being a big club in L2, or our fanbase and budget. We should be challenging at the top end of this league, but we are not and nor will we this season with JB in charge. If we don't get ANYTHING other than 6 points from our next two games he MUST GO!!! And anyone that is still supporting this fool today and not seeing what is happening after what happened in 2014 to us are clowns as well and just as much to blame as JB is right now.

Like it or not, this thread proves that we are better off pursuing with Barton. The sensible move from the board would be to sit tight until the court outcome os known, compared to paying him off. No it's not... This guy is putting the foundations for our 2nd exit from the football league. That could kill us as a club this time.He will be gone by then anyway and it would mean nothing to him anyway. He knows if you listen to his interview yesterday that he is a gonna, be it by being fired or his court cases. We could be f**ked by the time November comes which might not be able to be reversed. He has not proved, or has he improved anything here and now needs to be let go.

I listened to his post match interview. His voice sounded shaky and I think I was detecting concerns for his job and his ability. Things are not going well for him, on and off of the pitch. I got the feeling he can't recover from this. He has reduced our wage bill by£800,000?, and recruited a disjointed bunch of players who are struggling to have any attacking ideas. He still talks the talk, but can't walk the walk.... Not sure what new manager can do with this squad. Which is quite depressing! Best we can hope for when that happens, not if -is to keep the position we have right now.Just stay up. This is about survival as a league club even at this early stage. Damage was done with BG, and JB has now had his chance and failed and made things million times worse.

Appoint from within maybe? Joey sacked Manse so reducing the risk of that happening. Not heard anything from Chris Hargreaves recently. I would get rid of our worst manager ever ( he now takes over from BG that started this madness) And appoint either CH or LM. We now are in a dog fight to stay up,get anyone else but JB in.

Really hoping it turns nasty and fans spill on to the pitch and force Wael's hand. The worst manager in our history needs to be forced out. I wouldn't be against that if in a no violet way.

I'm sorry.....If we are in the bottom two/or lost at 5pm JB MUST be gone tonight! We are sleep walking into 2014 again!! If Wael can't see this after Barton from last season, and the start of this then I'm sorry Wael ( as much as I respect him and the money he has put into us) must f**k off also as this club will be distroyed if we go non league again.
