Great decision. Knows the club inside out, bleeds blue and white and would run through a brick wall for the cause. I disagree about him lacking creativity. He can definitely spot a pass. He delivered some very good through balls last year which were more often than not, chances squandered. When fit and firing he’s a good all-round midfielder. I agree. He has already been here for years, played 200 plus games for us,won two promotions and was apart of that mansfield game.He is the last one of our golden era from DC's time.He is a Bristol boy,and a gashead and loves the club. Not a knock at his game but Ollie is still only 27 but I dont think he has the talent to play in the premier so I guess wont be pushing for a move away like others have.I think he could develop into a championship player tho.So he could be our club captain if he does not get injured for the next 5-10 years like in the old days which makes this appointment special itself. Well done to OC.

Its a right hander as you can tell my the watch sun tan marks on his left hand..A rightie would put a watch on his left arm surely?
The back of his head looks like TC tho.
Or the club just hired a model for this press release. 😂😂 and is keeping this forum with things to talk about!

Reilly & Nichols up front = bottom 4 im afraid. Agreed, with Reilly but scoring 10-15 goals and Nichols maybe 2/3? Reilly could score that many in a decent side in L1 as he is a finisher and shown it.TN is anything but.

I think DC tried his best here but after 2 seasons in L1 he knew that signing players on hardwork and there personality was only going to take us and him so far and he needed talent at this level and beyond.I believe DC thought that when the owners took over that he was in charge of a club that was going to get a top stadium, training ground and push for the championship and someday the premier by money being spent.Thats why he turned down Leeds. But he soon saw that was the case and he needed to take a chance on the likes of Payne,KB and TN. Thats when things when wrong here. He get's to reboot his career at Walsall and I will to bet he wouldnt turn down a big job like leeds again. Did DC actually get offered the job at Leeds or did they even interview him for the position Wish him all the best at Walsall unless they play us
I cant remember which interview it was but Ive watched a DC being interviewed since he left here where he said he did turn down the Leeds job.Im not sure if it was during his first Walsall press conference,it think it was another one but he said it.
I agree but whats sad is DC brought him to the club.I remember Payne was everything in a player and person that DC tried getting away from when we dropped into Non league.Over paid, bad attitude, lazy etc... I guess you could tell things had go wrong here for him once the likes of Payne and to a degree KB were signed. That day he signed I remember his awful body language and thought this could go wrong very quickly ... it was a bit like Grannie putting her purse in the fridge ... it didn’t feel right and the likely outcome pretty inevitable and so it proved. Part of the bigger issue that Cost a very good man his job in the end. I think you also need to include Tom Nichols in your last sentence. But I totally agree with what you’re saying though. Will go down as one of the worst players in our history. Utterly shocking excuse for a professional footballer - but worse - without question one of the worst attitudes I've ever seen from a "professional". Good riddance to bad rubbish. Genuinely feel for Tranmere. Because of course all those current Championship / Premiership centre halfs have fantastic passing ability....TL was quality for us, and this constant dig at his passing ability is pathetic, lets just accept him for what he was.......a brilliant defender for us. I accept him for what he was , I don’t think I’m being pathetic I’m merely giving my opinion on a football forum about a player I’ve supported and watched hundreds of times. I agree, if Tom doesnt improve his passing game he will remain a L1/L2 player during his career after Chalton.I think he can play at a higher level, but this part of his play will make or break him.

I wish Tom the best as he is a nice lad,and played a huge part in saving our club.Think he needs to improve areas of his game alot to go higher then he is today tho.
Dont blame him for wanting a chance to progress, left at bad taste in my mouth that its on a free tho when his market value a year ago would most likely been over a million.
Wish him all the best.

I think Payne could be a quality L1/L2 player as he was at Shewsbury if he mind was right but was a poor player for us,awlful in fact, but he is a better goalscorer than TN.
To me Payne looked like he was depressed with us,and as someone that has had depression myself before I hope thats not the case for him.
Or maybe he was just trying to be gansta!

Thought it was interesting to see Kyle in the team photos today being briefed by GC. Doesn’t look like a player about to sign for another club. If we are talking about the same picture then the guy looks like a twat by the way he is just slumped down in his chair at the back of the room like a child at school that isn't interested in what his teacher is doing which pretty much sums up his career to date! KB has plenty of talent but no end product, no work rate and seems like a bad attitude. Where is Payne btw ? Is he back with us for Pre season.

I hate...and I mean hate everything the premiership has become today, and it will make it worse when the "non Bristoians" of this city start becoming Bristol City fans overnight when BCFC reach the top flight. (I hate the bastards, but they are set up for the top level and it will happen for them in the next 5 years.Fair play to the loyal City fans that are like you or I tho when it happens for them.
15 years ago I would have said premiership.I would still like that, but paying the money that is at that level and being apart of a souless worldwide boring brand is nothing that interests me.Give me a new 20/25k ground and us being able to show our potential and being well run is all I care about. And if thats done there is no reason why we couldnt be a top Championship/mid premiership side one day given our Cities and potential fanbase size.

Agreed..its because its full of lefties/students.. The Sportsman - while not on Glos rd was for years my local, I grew up just off Lockleaze rd - lived in Knowle of 2 years, 👎😭 Patchway, Filton and for last 4 years Kingswood.Until 3 years ago me and my mates would still meet at the Sportsman for a big TV footy game,or just a few beers. There was a vibe and energy there (and the totty working behind the bar were hot as fook! ) now its dead and always full of student wankers and hippies! And is a shillong fest Only been there 2 times in the last 18 months. Are you sure you just haven't got older, and now younger people are in the pubs just like you and your mates were? Nope... Ive got no problem with young people going out having fun drinking there, but as I stated. The sportsman as an example, has changed from what it once was. There was always young un's in there, not problem with that, but its become a very boring, hippy student place now and thats down a good deal to the managerment of the place as well as the amount of students living in the Glos rd area.

It's all good saying we need better but in a team lacking creativity, is it really the best idea to be getting rid of the player with the most assists from last season? I'm not saying he should be starting week in week out, just that there are other players who I'd be looking to move on first. Im not a Tom hater, but if he starts next season as the main guy with JHC then we will finished no higher than 12th and may as well write the season off.Im not against him staying as a squad player, but lets be honest the 2 years he has been here as one of our main strikers his return has been truely shocking. Its proven that he is not a goalscorer, which is the job he is paid to do.But there is something there in him as a squad player and playmaker for us.

Lots of the pubs on that part of the road have gone downhill last few years, hopefully won’t effect any of the good pubs/bars further down. Agreed..its because its full of lefties/students.. We never hit the ground running, in fact, when was the last time we did? Got to be a few seasons ago now? I think I read somewhere yesterday that GC wants to get 3 attacking players in before the start, 2 of them being big names. The last time I remember us having a strong start to a season was under Holloway in our nearly season 20 years ago! I think we had a decent start in one of our first ever seasons in L2 as well....might had been under Atkins or Francis? I remember us playing Hull at home on a friday night with a near full house at the mem.Apart from that we alway start slow.

Hull, Swansea , Brighton all getting gates of 6,000 before they got a new stadium . Were similar sized clubs to us. Add to that Huddersfield, Reading, Wigan, Doncaster and Rotherham all those clubs averages have increased and continued to be a lot bigger since they'ved moved into bigger and better stadiums. I think thats enough evidence to base it on. And Cardiff...there are others also, and those clubs are from places far smaller then Bristol.

Apology accepted. Difficult for attendees to get news out as mobiles had to be handed in at the door. Why? 😁😂 Everything said will be reported and shared anyway. Thats a very scary bit of info regards our club to be fair.

To be fair if he doesn't show then we are in more dodo then I believed we were..
The actions of our board by keeping us in the dark over the past 2 years (at least) has been shocking over things.
This rise debt needs to be addressed.
