Official overall attendance - 1909. Official away attendance - TBC. The closest to the official overall attendance of 1909 was seanclevedongas with their guess of 1986 being 77 away. Congratulations! Not far behind was Henbury Gas with a guess of 1995. There is no official away attendance figure but the club suggest there was defintley more away than home fans so I will let you fight it out amongst yourselves as to who won!

A very good result. A potential banana skin avoided and hopefully a confidence boost for everyone involved.

Not sure what to make of this. I think a lot of people would like to see White have a run in the side but if Clarke isn't going to do this anytime soon then surely it is better for eveyone involved if Jamie got some minutes (and hopefully goals) under his belt.
Perhaps if we do get someone in soon then Clarke might approve this as if he was to go, that would only leave us with the 3 strikers.

But how many Conference sides are really going to worry about that when his loan spell ends in late November, as I can't see any league sides being interested in signing him. As regards Leadbitter surely he faces at least a 3 match ban with immediate effect? How come Mildy only got a one match game for a red then ? I did wonder at the time as I thought a yellow then a red was a one game ban and a straight red a 3 game ban ? Different red card offences carry different suspensions. Mildy got his for denying an opponent a goal scoring oppertunity which is a 1 match ban, the same as picking up 2 yellows in a game. Leadbitter got his for serious foul play which carries a 3 match ban.

I wouldn't really say we would be short up front if Cunnington can't play. We would still be able to play 2 up top and have another striker on the bench. The left wing would be more of a worry to me. Monkhouse looks like he will be out so if Martin can't play then we may be a little short. Especially if Sinclair is still injured too and can't come in on the right to shift Gosling to the left.

Tinpot system for a tinpot competition. We are where we are. The FA Cup is a tinpot competition?

Either way, it is potentially a milestone is this saga.
To me, it doesn't matter how big Sainsburys are, if it is a legally binding contract and these extra clauses are met, I don't see how they can get out of it.

Is this going to be another Kevin Pietersen style book that causes more controversy than actually answers questions?
Either way, I can't wait for this.

Do you think players read forums too ? I never consider this format to be interactive with players. They read us. Yep I think Virgo also confirmed this in one of his Twitter Q&As. For what it is worth, I think Brown has come across well in this post. He is obviously frustrated by the result and by some fans reactions but he hasn't crossed any line by writing this. What he has said seems completley true about getting really high and really low. When we went on a good run, we were going to get promoted or at least make the play offs. One defeat against a good side in this league when we probably deserved a draw despite playing a 3rd of the game with 10 min and all of a sudden the players are rubbish, Clarke is rubbish and we are going to be stuck in this league for ages. Everyone acknowledges there is room for improvement.

I want to see us do well in the FA Cup and possibly get a televised game if we get a decent draw in a couple of rounds time. Going to be hard to get there though.
Either way, it is time to use some of the squad players for this one to give them a chance to show what they can do. I think we may see White and Harrison starting up front, Puddy in goal and McChyrstal at the back. It is a shame that others are injured/suspended but hopefully Sinclair can get 20 minutes to ease him back into things.

Mildenhall - 5 - At fault for the goal for me. Should have held the initial free kick then not the best punch from the resulting corner that they scored from. Distribution was average but he did still make some crucial stops. Especially from Norwood. Leadbitter - 6 - Still not sure about him as a defender but he looked one of our better attacking players until the red card. Trotman - 6 - Did well against a physical FGR attacking threat and he wins 90% of the aerial challeneges he goes up for. Distrubution still lets him down at times though and he missed a sitter from a corner towards the end. Parkes - 6 - Battled well and made a couple of good runs forward once he got moved to the right side of central defence following Leadbitter's red. Brown - 7 (MOTM) - Can't really remember his man beating him and he supported the attack well. Monkhouse - 2 - I appreciate he picked up a knock very early on but I thought he was awful. Far too often he seemed very central leaving Brown to do the work of 2 men both offensivley and defensivley and his work rate seemed non exsistent, although that may have been to do with the injury. When he did get in a good position to cross, I don't think one found their target. Mansell - 5 - A quiet game from him in the middle where FGR seemed to have a lot more of the ball. Did put a few good tackles in though and a couple of decent set pieces. Clarke - 4 - I know he is a young local lad who is come up through the ranks but this season, I don't think he has been up to scratch. If he is to play in central midfield, I think he needs to be 1 of 3 in there. Still tried to get forward when he could though although I can't remember a meaningful contribution from him. Gosling - 4 - Lot's of effort but doesn't seem to have a right foot on him. Got into lots of good crossing positions but every time he cut back in and the defender seemed to deal with it. Cunnington - 4 - Probably his worst game I have seen him play for us. Okay, the balls up to him weren't great at times but nothing seemed to stick. Probably should have done better with his header at goal (was that his only effort??) Taylor - 4 - Continues to work hard but continues to fail to deliver as a striker. That 1 on 1 that he skied could have changed the game. He seems a really nice guy but his lack of goals is really costing us.
Martin - 4 - I was really pleased when Monkhouse came off and Martin on but he didn't improve us that much. He kept the natural width and led a couple of break outs with his pace but his crossing was not up to scratch and he should have at least got that diving header on target. Harrison - 5 - Offered us something different up front when he came on but wasn't too effective against the big centre backs. Seemed to worry them a couple of times with his pace and running at them but was largely quiet. White - N/A - Not on long enough to get a rating but I seem to remember him having a decent left footed effort that forced a svae and won us a corner.
DC - 6 - Didn't agree with his decision to start Monkhouse or Taylor but was brave when we went down to 10 men and were playing 3-3-3 by the end I think. To be fair, that team seemed well set up for the second half and it isn't the managers fault that players can't tuck away the chances created. Ref(s) - 3 - Probably the worst ones yet. Lot's of bad decisions. Forest Green - 5 - A pyshical side who play to their strengths. Didn't look great in the secnd hald though.

I knew a Saints fan that was there on Saturday and from an impartial view, he seemed to think the red card was fair although I can't say I really agree even after watching the highlights.
How some of the other stuff went unpunished though is a mystery.

Official overall attendance - 7014. Official away attendance - 362. Thanks everyone for taking part. The attendance at Rovers for this game was higher than all League 2 games, 7 League 1 games and all Scottish Premier League games and closest to guessing the total of 7014 was @ms2608 who was 90 out with a guess of 7104. Well done! Shame you didn't switch those first 2 numbers around. The runner up was @ihatefootball with a guess 7135 on their first attempt at prediciting the crowd. It looks like most people thought we would see more FGR fans than we did but the closest to the away attendance of 362 was theroversram who was 15 away with a guess of 377. Congratulations! Not too far behind in second with a guess of 388 was Gasshole, also on their first attempt at predicting the crowd.

Clarke has said that the contract offer he has made is a permanent deal so it can't be a League 2 sub unless their current club is going to release them first.

Hopefully this will get him some good game time and experience but the timing seem a little bit odd to me given that Lockyer is defintley out and possibly Parkes as well ahead of this weekend.
We could be without defensive cover on the bench if both Leadbitter and McChyrstal have to come into the starting XI as Sinclair, who can cover at RB, looks a fairly major doubt as well.
