Many of these part time sides have players more than capable of playing for a full time Conference and even L2 side but when they are being paid X amount per game for their club plus their regular full time job, it will take a very decent contract offer to tempt them into the full time game. Something which many clubs cannot afford.
Yes it is frustrating losing/drawing to part time sides, but very often the calibre of players is just as good as others at this level.

Quite frankly I am both shocked and disgusted by this. This team and manager has done nothing but put in 100% effort and commitment this season and have made a solid start that we can now push on from. All of this under very diffucult circumstamces with budget restrictions and the pressure of being the Rovers side playing in the Conference for the first time despite most of them not being the ones that have put us there.
Yes there have been some frustrating moments, the same as there would be following any side in the world but for some of our so called fans to try and board the team bus, get into the changing room or put up posters calling for a good young manager to be sacked is awful.
I hope both DC and the players realise that these people are in the minority but the negative voices and criticsm are the ones that will always appear loudest. i hope that somehow both DC and the players get the message that the majority of fans are behind them but it cannot be easy to be associated with this club at the moment. The only way we are going to get out of this is together and lets hope these brainless morons relaise this before it is too late.
Rant over.

Official overall attendance - 880. Official away attendance - 315. Thanks everyone for taking part. The closest to the official overall attendance of 880 was GasHeadBlues who was only 5 out with a guess of 885. Well done! Runner up was Gringo with a guess of 911. Another very close guess to the Gas attendance with nolongernonleaguegas being only 2 out with a guess of 317. Congratulations! theroversram was runner up with a guess of 277.

If he is off to the England set up then that goes to prove he was most definitely doing a decent job for us. Shame to see him go but good luck Tom!

He was so frustrating to watch. He showed during his loan spell with us that he clearly has talent. He can score a goal, pick a pass and put a tackle in and generally control a lower league game from midfield but he was dire last season except for his goals and it seems a similair story at Northampton.
Perhaps he is another Kuffour who only shines when he wants to put himself in the shop window then coasts when he has been awarded his lucrative permanent contract.

Official overall attendance - 3559. Official away attendance - TBC. Thanks everyone for taking part. Looks like everyone overestimated the crowd for this one with the closest guess still being 852 out! But that guess was still the closest and it was made by nolongernonleaguegas who predicted 4411. Runner up was Staffordshire Gas with a guess of 4544. No offical Rovers attendance figure that I have seen yet but I will update as and when I get one.

Would love a tie at one of the nicest/most iconic grounds in the country. Probably Man Utd, Arsenal or Liverpool away for me. nolongernonleaguegas 's dream sounds good to me. YNWA vs Goodnight Irene and a great day out.

I'd prefer a fit Allan Gow (where is he now?) Apart from his "I can't play at such a crap level" statement - half hoping he is without a club and regretting his lack of loyalty. Gow is indeed still without a club.

Call me a hideously reactionary, dyed-in the-wool historical anachronism, but for me the only point of having a say in the kit design would be to STOP commercial interests from constantly faffing about with it. If I had my way, Newcastle would wear black and white stripes, Arsenal would wear red with white sleeves and Rovers would wear blue and white quarters until some point after the Sun implodes. I don't mind what happens with away kit though. (But preferably quarters in some other colours.) If we're going retro, look at the front cover of the new Official History. Geoff Bradford's shirt looks ideal to me. Am I weird? You are a hideously ractionary, dyed-in-the-wool historical anachronism. But in all seriousnes, I agree. It is part of a clubs identity. Why change it.

Oh dear. What have Burton done to deserve that? Although he may have improved in his time in the States..?
I am not a mad fan of Virgo but did anyone hear what he said in one of his latest pieces? "I had Buckle as manager at Rovers and thought "if he can earn a living as a manager it can't be that hard"".

FGR? Are you kidding me? Every single post on here you seem to wine and moan - always so negative. I don't wish to be disloyal to our beloved club, but are you saying that Bristol Rovers are the same size outfit as Swansea City, who can afford wonderful players? I'm not sure how you define size: they play in the Premiership, they sell out their 20,000 stadium every game and they won the League Cup last year! Perhaps you mean that we could be like them one day? Possibly.... I suppose we we could be like Real Madrid one day. Not anymore but in recent years we have been of a similar size to Swansea. It was only 6 years ago we were playing them in the league and a few years before that we were also getting similar crowds to them whilst we were both in Division 3 so many "older" fans see them as a similar size of club to us. it shows what a new stadium and a bit of clever investment can do!

I suspect Preston, Leadbitter, McChrystal, Balanta, Sinclair, White and Brunt might get some game time for various reasons.
