Nah, i just remember certain names and kind of hoped I'd see more of them. One was Royal Mail has I think, he was a good poster too. I am KP's Nephew mate. My name is Rob. I tend to lurk more than post but saying that I've posted a fair bit the last day or two. KP as in KingswoodPolack? That's him. The bearded wonder himself

In all honesty Chelsea will loan their players where they will get highest standard of football, so I would have thought any championship team would get a player over a league 1 team. Fair comment that

The point about Martyn & Parkin was that they were good & reliable. That gave confidence. There must be 2016 versions out there somewhere..... Very true, my point was that neither arrived with that reputation, they had to earn it first and any new keeper would also have to as well (both fans and teammates). They also played behind a very solid defence that included central midfield and Devon White coming back for set pieces. Parkin's distribution was better than Martyn's when he first arrived, but quickly 'learnt' to stop throwing the ball to players and punt it forward instead. We called him Brian "the Lion". He was a great keeper and we did very well in the deal with Nigel Martyn. He had big boots to follow in and made it his own. The back pass comment is nonsense IMO

There is no Chelsea connection - well not yet anyway. There has been a rumour of Wael sorting it so we can loan their younger players. I am hoping it's true but then I saw the young Chelsea player go to the 82 & it put pay to it as far as I am concerned

Martin from Southmead, stands behind the dug out, likes a good moan..........I think I know him ! Short ar*e I am now thinking Juanker is actually the bloke himself, might be well off the mark but some of his comments have been not dis-similar to historic anecdotes Nah, i just remember certain names and kind of hoped I'd see more of them. ^I started it sorry mate. Wouldn't want to get you angry would I? haha you're considerably larger than me mate so perhaps I should tone it down I do like how open minded you are, willing to do things that many wouldn't i.e. Show your face down the 3 Lions when potentially could be spotted/singled out as a gashead, and willing to come out and meet someone from the forum, it's good Mixing all friendly & jolly with a bunch of sh!t eds is a stretch for me though! UTG The lions ain't so bad. I've been in there a fair few times and am known to be gas. Shep is a regular. You'll find it just fine just as long as you don't take the water.

Mildenhall brings a lot to the table he might not be the quickest at getting down these days but he has still has a lot to offer, if he did have a all round game in terms of distribution, reactions, commanding area etc he would be in the premier league playing. I'm sure most goalkeepers outside the top division have there faults. Hes got my support and I am confident about him being between the sticks. But.... You Gotta get up to get down. Lol

or time for Gasheads to stop needlessly kncoking players on the forum/FB etc and actually support them, fans talk about the Twerton spirit has being great but did we single out players then as a target for criticism? Yes. Never been any different just wasn't done from behind a screen and away from the games.

The actual words used in communication is a small percentage of the message itself, something less than 10%. The rest is body language and tone of voice, neither of which is used on a written forum, so understanding the meaning behind a post is not always easy. How many proof read their posts or read one they are replying to more than once? I've misread posts only to realise that my initial interpretation was actually wrong and context is also important as isolated posts can be misunderstood. I suspect we almost all agree that we need certain things, such as certain a new player, but the nuances are lost so we end up in a circular argument, arguing about something we actually don't disagree on. That is so spot on and also very good to read as advisory. Nice one geezer

Pretty much sums up how I see it. There have been posters in the past that I've been 90% sure they must be Sh1!heads on the wind up with some of their comments though. There's some new ones around this season who seem determined that what we've got is a crap side that is going to struggle. I personally don't see it that way but I do respect the other posters on here no matter how rediculous their posts might seem because we've all got an opinion and are entitled to it. Our squad was the third best squad last season behind Northampton and Oxford and we did ok against both of those sides. In the second half of the season we were pretty much unbeatable and we gained momentum as it drew on very much like the season before. We are 1 down 45 to go. I'm feeling very positive that the squad will push on again, keep getting better with the odd addition here and there and we'll keep improving. That opinion is based in what's happened gradually over these last two years. History tends to repeat itself in most walks of life and footballs no different. For years we flirted with relegation and it was only a matter of time before we dropped out of the football league if big changes weren't made. We lose our first game of this season and there's lots of people calling for big changes. We are on a roll and we've got momentum on the pitch and off it. Big changes aren't needed, just a gradual improvement like we've been doing, and that's happening. People need to chill. Well put. But it's not just this forum. In this instant world something is either great now or needs complete change! No time is taken to reflect upon and improve, no looking at the bigger picture. Fortunately I think DC and Wael do reflect upon things, and seek to improve gradually so I think our club is in good hands. That the players over the last few years have improved show the quality of the managerial team at Rovers and I feel quite confident. I was sat in the Scunthorpe main stand and saw DC with MS and Steve Y during the match and felt that it showed a good, calm approach to things. Forums on the other hand....! Being an old git who has followed Rovers for over 50 years I feel I have seen most things and our current position with the personnel we have is the best overall in that time. Long may it continue. Better than Megson, Francis, David Williams ? I started going to games when Williams was manager and that was the best football I've ever seen us play. Such a gutting thing that he left.

"We still have larger attendances than the majority in this league" Unfortunately we don't get extra goals/points for having those but you'd hope that would allow DC a decent budget. As far as the FFP, personally I'd sooner we ran the ship living within our means not byond them. But surely it would make sense to take advantage of anything we are able to, if it allows us to push on and consolidate our position

Thanks for the replies. Yes he surely knew how to wind people up but he stuck to his own opinions and I reckon he was proved right on with McGhee & Wardy. I used to enjoy reading thread where he was involved as they often got heated ! I think he's a Patchway or Filton gashead if memory serves me ?

I agree with that. If the Prem teams want less games, than they should withdrawal from the league Cup and leave it for the Championship, League One and Two and then the Trophy can be scrapped as you say.
The Prem then get the extra European place on the league automatically
Football League Cup for Football League teams. I'd also like one of the European Champions League places to go to the FA Cup winners, something David Sheepshanks (of Ipswich fame) many years ago also thought as it would show how seriously we as a nation took that competition. Can't see it happening though. There used to be the cup winners cup though. What happened to that ? Maybe turned into Europa cup, Lee Johnson knows about that lol

Having recently come to this forum I wonder if anyone knows what became of Keith ? I think he used that as his forum bit his name was Martin ?name. I remember him being called a 82 er and taking some stick but then he turned up in the clubhouse and I think it shocked a few. Pretty sure he used to stand in the east terrace and was always calling for managers to be sacked. I used to enjoy reading his stuff as he was always straight as a die and never gave an inch. is he on here guys ?

No one gives a flying feck about your 'bit of balance' go and tell your own lot, the ones that can read that is. I know it's 'attack the post and not the poster' but surely we can make exceptions for them lot, really is so, so bloody sad that one of the first things you do on a Monday morning is go on your non rivals forum to see what's going on! I wish I had the time to forensically study and police every post made on this forum. There must be help out there for sad bastard ted ocd syndrome. We've got plenty of our own who are no different. Whatever anyone says, we have always had the rivalry and I reckon it makes things a bit more interesting. I do enjoy listening to the 82 at work and the conspiracy theories on Wael buying the club as a land grab and in him being skint pmsl. I've not seen them this animated in a very long time, well, never before really. They have to be gutted we didn't go bust but then the cherry on the cake is having an owner who has shown more passion and involvement with ordinary fans than anyone could have believed.
