The problem is that society now is becoming more of a collective by the day. Anyone who tries to be an individual within this system will quickly become a focus for derision and abuse. The individuals path is never the one that will come easy but in my opinion it pays the biggest dividends. I've never ever believed in the wisdom of the crowd and was always encouraged to try and think for myself. Coming from the family I do, it's kind of been the done thing but not to stand out or try to get attention. Unfortunately the herd mentality is ruining this country and many others too. Many just fear being apart from the crowd and I actually feel sorry for them. Unless the crowd is right. Then its good to be part of the crowd. Fair shout mate and I agree but I know your having a giggle.

Not sure I've seen quite so much division here since the Brexit and Ellis Harrison threads earlier this year. The problem with non attendance is that it becomes a statistic and statistics can be manipulated to suit. The villains here are the FA not fellow fans, as we can't boycott the FA directly then we have to target their source of income. For this competition it's Checkatrade. What I am proposing is a mass emailing of Checkatrade with a brief explanation, something along the lines of "Dear Sir, I am sending you this email as a sign of my disapproval of the way the Under 23 teams have been parachuted into a competition that now bears your name. This in contrary to the spirit and ethos of the game and I regret that until these teams are removed I will not be using your services and will be advising my friends and family to do the same." Their contact details are contact@checkatrade.com Keep it simple and respectful. The number of fans of the lower leagues must be measured in several hundred thousands. Imagine a mass emailing, say 8pm on Thursday and Checkatrade having 10,000 emails on Friday morning. It will slow them down and make them put pressure on the FA. I know, wishful thinking, but surely better than us turning on ourselves. That's not going to happen. The best way is for zero attendance. Unfortunately, too many people don't get it. If there was zero attendance across all games last night, the EFL would have been forced to rethink the competition. Alas, this is England and people will do what they wish no matter what. Perhaps these cowards thought better go home safe and sound then act the man and have a couple of nights free B and B at Swindon general. Perhaps. I'd prefer to act rather than watch. Like I said, where do you draw the line? My conscience is clearer if I do the right thing (imo) standing and witnessing an injustice is not the right thing. I'm out. Totally agree with you mate and I know a good few in their 50's that I wouldn't want to come up against and I'm in my late 30's and pretty big, fit and can deal with my own stuff. I would certainly have not stayed quiet and I have helped out others before. It needs more to make it plain that it won't be tolerated

So, with the addition of Roos and Roberts, 3 of our 5 signings thus far are loan signings. Disappointing for me but probably a financial reason. I thought DC said once that he didn't really like long-term loan signings - might be wrong about this. I'm much more in favour of permanent signings as we are obviously developing our own players. Roos seems determined to make it at Derby after his loan although his contract might be up at the end of the season ?? In my view, younger players on loan might be the better options as you would expect them to be really hungry to get in the side and play as many games as possible rather than more-seasoned pros. Get the feeling we are gonna get 2 more in on loan too, What's everyone's views ? How many can you put on the pitch in any one game ? I bet DC has had to move this way due to the changes in the loan system though. I do know where you're coming from as loans are not good long term if they don't intend to fight to stay but in saying that I would love one like Abrahams who has won 9 points at least for the 82. He is not going to stay with then though. We have a stadium, training facility and much more to pay for. I will stick with it right now. We nearly all wanted Gaffney but he's not confident right now though I do believe he will come good.

Absolutely soaked through! Blessing in disguise perhaps as we were f**king awful !!!! Agreed. First half, we were abysmal. Second half looked a little better, but I was still relieved when it was called off. It does seem we are being very slow to get going. I don't know if this is the players maybe not liking a particular way of playing but we seem to get better in every game so far. Maybe DC needs to knock a few heads together ? Every person I've talked to or had text from habe said we were 5h1te

Honestly ? These se are mostly young and supremely fit men who should be able to play 2 games a week with ease as I see it. If they can't concentrate and fulfill that then something is wrong but that's just my opinion. I really don't get the excuses made and especially for young, fit and healthy men. How many of us would love to play as our jobs eh. Gutted for our fans. Hoping a refund for rearrang d fixture is sorted. UTG It's all relative. They are perfectly capable of playing 2 games in a week, but you can't expect them to be as fresh as a team that only played one. Why do you think that athletes taper off their training in the week or 2 before a race? Cos they are girly men who need to man up innit lol. Blood n guts training and good food will sort it. A days rest to drop lactic acid is enough really but I can't really expect em to not have a beer. I guess it's down to each player but we do have good back up now so no excuses to be made, not really. A winning team will be confident and want to play as often as possible. A lot of it is down to confidence & attitude, no doubt of that

He could quite easily have said 'put me down,it wasnt my achievement it was DC and I will help to carry him down Gloucester road' couldnt he ? He could have done yes. He didn't though he enjoyed the moment and he had a drink with the fans and every time I've heard him speak all he talks about is Darrell and the boys. Have you met him ? He seems like a very down to earth bloke who's from a very rich family and who loves football and he's bought our club and genuinely seems to have grown a love for Bristol Rovers much in the way most of us have. I'd take that over most billionaire chairman with their talk of champions league and five year projects any day. Mate, I don't know you but your posts, the ones I'VE read are spot on and I fully agree with all you say. We have a lot going on in the background and we have a club that is not now fighting for its survival from the crippling court cases and wonga loans. We have had our 1st ever back 2 back promotions yet some people, I won't mention names, still aren't happy. We have a forum manager who thinks he's better than DC and many specialist analysts who feel they know formation better than DC too. I am bloody overjoyed we are not battling court cases, have a stable and classy owner who engages with the fans and who doesn't hide away like the fat bloke before. We got banned fans back and yes, more than one ! I do not get the bloody sniping and people who still REALLY believe that we can spend our way up. We got a team who fight for the shirt, have pride in their souls and are proper gas. Whats not to love ffs ? I can get wound up at times & it's why I don't post that much in honesty. We got our rovers back. Debt is internal and we were told not to expect the marquee signings. DC would not have signed for 3 more years if he was not happy with terms and having final call on team affairs plus we have kept our top scorer for the first time I can remember anyway. Thanks for your posts mate. I think a few need their heads banging together innit. Up the Dam gas

Always likely to be a tough one ,after the high of the chelsea game the energy and concentration levels are probably pretty low at the moment. Still 0-0 at halftime away from home at a higher level than last year is quite satisfactory. BRFC need to get the strikers involved more ( on the attack not in the rovers box ! ) to give swindle something to worry about. Honestly ? These se are mostly young and supremely fit men who should be able to play 2 games a week with ease as I see it. I think if we had certainty on the new stadium, the lack of 'big name' signings wouldn't be much of an issue for people. It's the lack of both that makes things feel a little less than satisfactory (given all the hype/excitement following the takeover). Absolutely, forget all this evolution not revolution nonsense, that's just code for not spending any money. We are in a two club city, and if we aren't in the championship within three years in a new stadium our chance will disappear. We are signing the same sort of players we did under higgs, and have silence on the stadium. It's like groundhog day! Dear god. What utter drivel

Why have we given them 3 goals? Why are we standing so far off them. Too much respect given. Have watched on periscope and you're right. Push up. Don't allow them time. They really will knock a load in. Get into em

I reckon the honours must go to Tottongham but the records show the 82 were a good side in the old 1st division and they did a number on us in the old Gloster cup ?? Did a number on us in the Anglo Scottish cup 6-1,but the 82ers have never been in the top flight, that was the old club that went bust. That's true. Fair shout

Looking at Chelsea fans comments on forums and Twitter, its makes me feel great to support rover's, I could never support a club like Chelsea. Most of their fans don't know there r 2 teams in Bristol, or even that we exist at all. I guess if ur a home grown, life long Chelsea fan you would find it annoying as well. I'm in a Chelsea end tmrw, app the only thing I have to worry about is my view being obscured by Chinese cameras Most of their fans probably do know that there are 2 teams in Bristol... Chelsea are similar to the other commercial clubs in that they have a lot of non local support generated by success/cred. I am assuming that you are supporting your local club and aren't in fact from Uzbekistan. I go to Liverpool a fair few times each year and have good friends who go to Chelsea. Be assured they know there are 2 teams and they hate the sh**e. If you look on YouTube then we get a few nice words, if that the way I understand them anyway. They certainly remember the tote.

Are you sure you're not confusing us with the 82ers as I'm sure they played at Elland Rd in the 70's? You'm a new kid on the block innit Topper? Rovers lost 4-1 to the (then) mighty Leeds on 15th January 1972. www.ozwhitelufc.net.au/15-01-1972%20LUFC%20v%20Bristol%20Rovers. The Leeds team were supreme at getting away with niggling the opposition players and getting away with what are now termed professional fouls: Leeds players I had thought skilful were shown to be nothing more than niggling barstewards, Madeley, Reaney, and Eddie Gray come to mind. Having said that, I do not agree with HollyhillGas' view: Terry Cooper and Norman Hunter were in a different class, extremely hard but also fair in the tackle. Regarding the poo playing against Leeds in the 70s. That was also in the FA Cup. It was a replay, during the miners' strike, so was played during daytime, as there was a limit on power usage, i.e the 3 day week. I was actually employed by a company in Ashton Vale and was therefore surrounded by sheds (one being Harry Bamford's cousin). My manager was a shed but also pontificated on the mighty Leeds. So when he came storming through into my office shouting out that "We" had scored, I was genuinely confused and none the wiser for who "We" were (a point I voiced in no uncertain terms). It transpired that it was Donnie Gillies, later to become a Rovers player, who had won the game for them. I reckon the honours must go to Tottongham but the records show the 82 were a good side in the old 1st division and they did a number on us in the old Gloster cup ??

My thoughts exactly! Once stadium porn, those UWE pictures do nothing for me anymore. I demand some new stadium designs, and make them bigger than the new sh1t pit or else I'm not interested! (Just a thought, IF we ever build one of these designs, what will there be to get excited about every 5yrs?!) Extensions 👍 So. Is UWE dead to you ?

The OP said there was good news imminent about the UWE, it was somebody else who posted something about a 55,000 seat stadium, which sounds total BS to me as that would be almost as big as Chelsea's new stadium. To build a training ground, buy land and to build a 35,000 stadium, with potential to expand upto a 55,000 capacity, would probably cost the club nearly £100m, I just can't see that happening. Sorry, you're right - not the OP. I don't think it would cost "the club" anything/very little. From the outset, Wael has said he's looking for it to be financed via investors. If the investors believed in Wael's plans regarding the hotel and leisure complex (bowling, cinema etc) and could see earning potential then why wouldn't they invest? If the people in question are say, billionaire's, circa £100m between them wouldn't actually be that much; and if they thought they could see a profit on any investment then why wouldn't they be up for it? As I say, I can certainly see this being at least feasible. I've never known truly wealthy people use their own money. There once was a time when people did but the banks weren't so thoroughly imbedded into society. some people tell me they used to get paid in cash too mind !
