As I said last week on here it's not being broadcast internationally so it's a waste of time anyone looking. I guess someone will stream it via a phone. Someone did that for the sarfend game via periscope but it was like having 13 pints.

It's ok to joke about it now.. Let's hope we don't find ourselves in a relegation scrap otherwise there will be tears. That being said, it seems as though we are so numb towards sh1teness that we could probably bounce down to the conference again and some would still see the positives! I think the Sh1!heads are doing a right number in our lot. Steve Hamer said there was more to deal with and its only been 6-7 months.

Trouble is that after 2 promotions DC's budget doesnt seem to have increased. 'Evolution not revolution' sounds like a clever way of saying 'no funds are available' ? . Not really we have already appointed specialists to the board, who will be on good money. We have given a 3 year deal to Dc, which he wouldn't have signed if he thought we wouldn't invest any money. DC is giving players a chance to prove themselves, if they are not up to it, he will replace them and funds will be made available. I was expecting us to lose Lockyer and Taylor, but we managed to sign them both to new deals. Why does everyone want things to happen instantly? No patience, what we have been doing has been working and now we have funds, when needed. That does not mean that we should waste money and stop doing the things that have worked. Spot on geezer

To be fair I don't remember any of us being overwhelmed by the early performances of the likes of Mansel, Taylor, Sinclair or Easter but they've all gone on to become important players in two successive promotions. Montano took longer than most to start putting in good performances but I really rate him now too. Hartley hasn't done anything wrong in fact I'd say him and Mc Crystal have probably been our best two centre halves in the three games I've seen. DC won't get every signing right no manager does but I'm willing to give every signing at least 10 - 20 games before I decide whether I think they're right for this team. Also good enough for league 1 doesn't necessarily mean right for Rovers, some players just fit some clubs but perform worse elsewhere and I think DC is bloody good at calling those shots much in the same way Gerry Francis did in the late 80s early 90s for us. Other examples but at a higher level of that knack are Brian clough at Forest and the team Raniari built at Leicester last season. I wonder if the "special one " could build a team full of cast offs on a small budget in the way those great managers have. I think Ranieri inherited a decent squad from Pearson tbh. Pearson was sh** on big time IMO

I feel like sticking to our guns is better. Start spending and end up where we did last time no thanks. We've hardly done badly on a small budget. But and we were having this chat last night, the 3rd tier is now a fair bit different to when we were a part of it as our true standing. We have the money that goes with being promoted to championship clubs being a big part of the teams who were relegated from that league and that does make a difference. As much as I'd like to say that we should stick to building from within we do need to bring in some quality and speculate to accumulate as I see it. We have decent players and maybe 3-4 that can really hack it at this level but this is not Twerton and things have changed massively since those days. Having said all of that mind, look at Burton Albion...... They stuck to most of their l2 squad so it can be done but it will be the ex person to the rule. The money that the championship clubs who got relegated will make a difference and the style and shear speed of play will make this an interesting season. I do trust DC but I also think that he has to sometimes stay with a team that has performed well before. I still play when I can and knkw that confidence is a big thing. A winning team is a confident team and I just worry that DC will often change this just to experiment and we can't afford to experiment so much this season, I

Does it really matter whether he's a freebie or cost £100K if he's an improvement on what we have already? Although you do wonder why Wael's spent millions buying the club if he's not going to invest anything in the playing squad. Although perhaps this season is going to one of consolidation anyway. If DC went to Wael and said I want to spend x amount on a player and it was reasonable enough, I'd think Wael would have no problem with this. The thing is DC doesn't want to or doesn't think he needs to go out a spent a load on players. I think you and many other underestimate Steve Hamers role. Wael maybe the owner but this is Hamers gig, from what I've seen so far

You're just picking outliers with small sample sizes (populations) and ignoring the rest. Look at that top 10.
There's what looks like a more recent table on Wikipedia. That shows that an average person is more than 7 time more likely to commit suicide in Guyana than the UK. 4 times more likely in Suriname, Mozambique, Tanzania or Nepal.
You're talking bunkum.
Were all these people weak-willed, mollycoddled no-marks as you suggest: Abraham Lincoln, Tennessee Williams, Samuel Johnson, Sir Winston Churchill, John Stewart Mill, Buzz Aldrin, Marlon Brando, Frank Bruno, Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens, Graham Greene, Tony Hancock, Earnest Hemmingway, Frankie Howerd, John Lennon, Spike Milligan, Mozart, Michaelangelo, Van Gogh, Isaac Newton, John D. Rockefeller, Bruce Springsteen, Leo Tolostoy, Marcus Trescothick, Mike Tyson, Boris Yeltsin?
From 'How the other half dies', a study on the causes of death in the developing world:
"...all the major psychiatric problems of the developed countries - the depressive disorders, the anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, suicide, and substance abuse - seem to be prevalent in the developing world."
"...Alcohol abuse appears to be on the rise throughout the developing world. In addition to alcohol, certain countries have specific substance abuse problems - cannabis in Nigeria, heroin in Pakistan, toxic inhalant abuse among children and adolescents in Mexico and Brazil."
Depression is not voluntary. You do not choose depression, anyone can suffer from it, and it certainly is not a judgement on a person's character.
I wouldn't waste your time in replying to his / her posts to be honest,as his / her views on mental illness are shallow , uneducated , and down right insensitive bordering on sounding like a wum. I read both main forums and this guy seems to enjoy upsetting people or just arguing for the hell of it

We are playing most of the players from vanarama and we will lose a few more. Don't panic guys. I'm not surprised and think mid table will be respectable but we have gone from lowering our expectations to thinking we have to win all. Fair play to the optimists but this is a bit different to when we were here last and we didn't do great then. Let's see what WAQ and DC do with these 3-4 players and don't get bent up when we do get beaten. Saying that we ain't lost yet

Good post, Roadman. And yes, he had a good game tonight. Well done, Ollie! Roadman is clearly being sarcastic here, which pretty much sums up this whole thread, and the manner of some of our supporters. If we wind back 3-4 years, our policy was to sign known players, which back fired as, of course, many simply did not give a sh*t. Thankfully this policy changed with DC, and it is incredible to think that 16 months ago, the majority of the team from last night, were playing Alfreton in the conference. We now have a team that actually care, and work their b*llocks off for the cause, and the net effect of that has been the successive promotions. You would think that everyone would be fully behind the whole squad, and give them all the praise and support that they deserve as a group, but no, there are a number on here who are simply never satisfied and look to find fault. Ollie Clarke may never make it to the premiership, but I for one am grateful for his efforts, his dedication, and the fact that he now trying to adapt to another level up. Will he make it...possibly not, but I think he deserves absolute respect for how he has helped the club, and our total support in trying to step up to this level. Ultimately, DC will decide if OC is good enough (and he certainly held his own last night) but in the meantime would it not be great if we could all just be grateful that we have a squad of players who are 100% committed, and enjoy our current relative success without calling for the heads of some blokes who have played a massive part in this, and who continue to do all that they can for this club. I reckon the commentators were on a bet to see how many times they could mention us being in the conference. I heard it at least 7 times by the time I started counting. My boys said it was more

Sky. I'm pretty sure I read something the other day that foreign clubs will charge so much for their players, but if an English club comes in the value usually doubles because of how much money we get from TV deals etc compared to them. Is it right that United let him go on a free

It appears to me that DC will sign the first player(s) very soon and they will be available for selection for the Bolton game but maybe joining the squad on this weekend. His intentions appear clear, the club must take advantage of the last two seasons forward momentum, and a season where the squad think they can muddle by and hopefully stay up isn't in the plans. The new 3-4 players will be good enough for first team inclusion...not players with potential or numbers to make up a bigger squad. The message to the current squad is very clear , they also have 2 games to try to persuade DC its not them that needs to drop down the pecking order. It will be interesting to see the positions he chooses to strengthen and the players that come in . Also whether they are loans or permanent deals. I think you summed that up well mate. I think a lot more thought and work has gone into this than many of us would have expected and because we have been used to the old way of us doing business and muddling our way from pillar to post. The King is dead, long live the King !

The amount of money being spent is just madness. Pogba is worth a small hospital! How many lives would be saved if his transfer fee went to the health service/medical research etc?? Just me getting old I guess. (I was stunned at £70k for Carl Saunders!) With the greatly over inflated values now being spent by the Prem clubs, there should be a little trickle down effect (Barnsley/Stones), City/Bolasie? etc). On this basis how much would our best players be worth? Two words. Obscene and vulgar. This is why we are fcuked as a race. How can anyone rationalise paying that but not just that, man united borrow the money and then just service the debt. It is so fcuked up that I can't even put into words
