Anyone know when the 2nd round fixtures are due to be played? Had a look but couldn't find.

Although they feature Rovers heavily most of the shots are based in South Bristol. I've seen a few of my favourite spots in there: - Georges on East Street - The Argus - Clarks Pies on North Street Lovely stuff! But they obviously couldn't stomach setting foot in the gate. Top lads.

At least he will have Mensah to help him fit in...
From Wiki "After impressing in Watford's Under-18 side, Jakubiak was loaned to Conference side Braintree Town on 1 January 2014. His Watford teammate Bernard Mensah joined him at Cressing Road shortly afterward.[10] In total, Jakubiak made 11 appearances during his loan spell, including two starts, and scored one goal against Wrexham.[11]"
What's the betting these guys have the same agent?

I can't believe I'm saying this... but for once in my life I'm in the know, I know something you all don't! Man this feels good, knowall and gasincider never said it felt this good. Friend of mine from Uni's best mate got to know him very well from his time at barnsley and still keep in touch today, obviously I've asked what's the craic and although Shrewsbury have accepted a bid because we've triggered a clause.... the man himself is not keen because it means moving his young family again, having already moved them around from Dover > barnsley > Shrewsbury, now potentially Bristol. Payne wants to stay in the north as he's made friends and settled in South Yorkshire. Be very surprised if he joins knowing that. Do I win some kind of prize for knowing this? Or do I get called a sh**head from now on 😅 Here it is. Guessing the "family down south" refers to his non-immediate family.

Looks as if the Payne signing is complete, but we are waiting on the potential 2nd striker for a double announcement later this afternoon. You reckon the club are on the wind up and going to announce two signings just before the deadline? To be fair, its been quite fun watching everyone loose their sh*t this week, why not drag it out a little longer! Just came on to pose the same question!

The club continues to wade through treacle in its transfer dealings for strikers , I suggests the the manager gives the owner his transfer list and owner give the manager the funds received for Rory and Ellis to get the targets. The owner needs to understand that the season ticket holders who have already invested their hard earned cash in the club need strikers in at least equal in value to those that have been sold. I also seriously ask why the club needs both a Chairman and a CEO, it should be one or the other. Seems we couldn't close the deal on a striker last Friday because we couldn't get the medical done on that day, so we we have senior white collar staff but nobody to turn the handle to complete the transfer process quickly. From the season ticket holders perspective the situation is not good enough Not sure any of us really expected the full £1m to be reinvested but £400K to £500K surely wouldn't have broke the club, what I don't really understand is what would have happened if we hadn't sold Harrison & Gaffney as the owners would be around £1M down. Now you have to fear if somebody comes in late with an offer of £5OOK for Locks he'll be off as well w/o a decent replacement being brought in. As far as the medical we don't really know where the blame lies, did the player just pull a "sicky" to give his agent more time to sound out Coventry about a better offer? Wait, how do you know that £400k to £500k wasn't made available to DC?

The Chimp has stated we have bid for Tyrese Campbell on Loan from Stoke. 4 Premier League appearances last season.
Aware that the sources strike rate is less than consistent but he's often right.

Did we lose 4-1 at Peterborough at the start of the 2006/07 season?
Got promoted that year...

From the Bristol post.. “BristolLive understand Rovers were close to completing a deal for a League One striker today, however the formalities could not be completed despite a price being agreed between the clubs involved. The signing is expected to be completed and announced early next week.” A league one striker? I had heard we were trying to sign Amadou Bakayoko from Walsall for between £150-200k. Would fit the bill if true.

The latest from the gumps forum: "Bristol Rovers are just another lower league West Country side and as last Saturday showed we’ve easily got a better squad than them. Do i think any of them are bigger than us? No i honestly don’t. Doidgey would be a fool to leave the new lawn." The same person reckons that the clubs that are interested in Doidge being Rovers, Sunderland and Aberdeen that;- ‘none of those teams are massively bigger than us to lure him away, so I think he’ll stay. Vince needs to hand him a 5 year contract asap’ WTF? Sunderland (let alone us) aren’t massively bigger than FGR! Really? How deluded is it possible to be? Is there some sort of world championship that this cretin can enter? Surely that's someone on the wind up?!?!

I think we will sign a left back. As recently as 2 or 3 weeks ago dc said he likes to have full backs that can bomb forward. Well right now we dont have any full backs that can do that. Michael Kelly can, but obviously he's inexperienced at the moment. Lee Brown wasn't much more experienced when we signed him. I think DC will give MK a shot at left back next season.

Brilliant stuff. Hopefully makes his mark in pre-season.
Ollie Clarke showed a similar attitude when returning from a difficult injury at a young age.

Not sure that he's been replaced. DC certainly cut a lone figure in the dugout at Charlton. I consider SY played an important match day role in passing on instructions to players during the game, allowing DC to take a step back and analyse the match.
Not sure if Marcus is the guy who will take this on now during match days although I don't think this will be the case.

Announced today he is going out on loan again to Norwich. Maybe he is close to finding his level and prove to doubters at rovers how good he really is That performance on the final day of season against Millwall was up there with some of the worst I've ever seen. Not doubting his ability, I've seen him have a few decent games (Oldham away in particular) but I can't see him having a top career in English football the way he got bullied a few times last year. Chalk and cheese with Sweeney really.
