Just heard some guy’s getting fired next week. Hamer or the Plymouth guy?

I just don’t understand the Avon and Somerset Police. They made this game a Cat A because of potential trouble,as there usually is with Oxford, yet let them stroll out of the away end early and mob up in the Tinto on Gloucester Road waiting for Rovers to stroll by. It’s not as tho these supporters were your average looking fan! Unbelievable policing which led to the trouble which could’ve been avoided. A&S Police acting shambolic while charging the football club a fortune. Who'd have thought it?

Shame it's out at Yate. Would have been nice to switch it to the Creek or the Mem.

Wages as a percentage of Income being 83% isn't healthy for any business. The highest paid director being on £72k stands out too. What worries me is that if match day revenue decreases as attendances drop due to us being in the lower half of the table, we could be in real trouble. A cup run or a dramatic rise up the table this season could be the only thing that stops us going in to even more debt. No pressure Darrell! Assuming the director on £72k is Hamer?

Not shooting any messenger.....and fine in theory.... but where does PP sit in all this wheeling and dealing? Surely no one is going to splash the cash without some sort of way ahead with that side of things? Guess with houses all around it shouldn't be an issue but you can never take these things for granted I should think. So.. The construction company gets the Mem and develops it for housing after having paid off the Jersey mob and clearing the charge. They therefore need to generate what, £6m from the land before they start making any money ? Even a dinky little stadium with nothing happening inside will cost about £1.5m per thousand seats so these samaritans will spend about £30m of their hard earned cash and will hand it over to Rovers ? Oh and of course the stadium land will cost..?? Hope this is all correct, but from the outside looking in, what on earth is in it for the suggested new owners, who operate in such a volatile industry.. This sums up my thoughts. Seems to make sense at first glance then when you look a little closer it appears to be unviable. Sounds like a far fetched rumour. While something is clearly going on, I don't feel like what is being discussed is accurate.

Evening started well with some Northern Soul classics, then the 'excitement' of a camera falling from the top of the West Stand onto the walkway at the front of the terracing. No joke, on a league matchday someone could have been killed. A bright and energetic performance. Jakubiak took his goal well and was a threat throughout the match. Kelly is still a bit raw but looks a proper LB, rather than someone just filling in. Payne looked livelier than in recent performances. After a shaky start to the season Ollie Clarke is close to back to his best and, I think, would be a much better and influential captain. Sinclair got rid of the cobwebs and could be in contention for a place Saturday. Russe impressed again when he came on. Matthews has class and should start every game. Lots for DC to think about. Last night's team showed hunger and played as a team. No sign of the new Family Stand. The electronic scoreboard is now beyond a joke. Each time it's used more parts of it don't work....a flip chart would be better! Can't think that there were the 1,500 the club was expecting. Not that many more than a DS game. Attendance was 1,021 apparently. Took me a while to find it on the OS.

MOTM? Solid defensively but some woeful distribution especially when he was in his own half. Not a man of the match performance imo. First league start for a young lad. Didn't disgrace himself at all. I didn't think the distribution was that bad as some have made out. I don't think he did badly and hope he gets plenty of opportunities this season. However, it wasn't a man of the match performance by any means.

Kelly would have been my MOTM but Ollie Clarke and Sam Matthews had fantastic games also. MOTM? Solid defensively but some woeful distribution especially when he was in his own half. Not a man of the match performance imo.

One answer would be to limit the number of young players the Prem clubs can sign. Last season, Chelsea had 38 players out on loan, and they still kept enough for their Youth Squad and their Development Squad. If their numbers were limited, maybe those 38 players would be available to other clubs? Does anyone know how a club like Chelsea views the players it retains in their Youth/Dev squads, rather than sends on loan? Are these the players that no one else wants to loan, or are they their better "for age" players, which they want their coaching team to work with more closely?

I can remember him playing extremely well when we were on tv (against Gateshead I think) early in our conference season. I think he played in that role that night and he scored and got motm. I can remember the pundits that night raving about him. IIRC we started the Gateshead game very poorly and were one down...DC then changed things by pushing SS further forward, following which he nabbed a goal and we got all three points. Was a great game.

Interesting article regarding what loaning player from a Premier League club often involves these days... link

Under Atkins, the 2-2 at home to Yeovil with 9 men was quality. The Agogo second half show. Some say you can't create an atmosphere at the Mem but it was buzzing that night! I also remember the Torquay game, 2-0 down and everyone going crazy calling for Atkins head only for us to turn it around and win 3-2! His first game away at Mansfield was also a great away day, but apart from those three Atkins games, I can barely remember any of the others! That's Mansfield away game was fantastic, probably the best start to the season I can remember.

One memory from the Atkins years:
Lincoln away 05/06. Agogo was our main man that season and scored a good equaliser in the second half. His celebration was to point towards the Rovers duggout and give a w@ nker sign to Atkins. For which he then got a straight red card.

Personally I rate the lad.
Be interesting to see how much he improves with a full season in the team and playing more often than not. I think there's still a lot more to come from him.

Only a one week emergency loan so I imagine Andre will be on the bench tonight and we won’t be looking for a replacement. From the BBC: "The loan is for an initial seven days but can be extended if required."

Not a good prospect, the thought of Smith having no real competition, erratic is an understatement and he's never too far away from a howler. If Slocombe leaves I imagine will be bringing in a replacement.
