It wasn't on ifollow last night because sky was showing it. It was available on ifollow here in Canada. And was also shown on DAZN which streams EFL games.

I'd be interested to see how he'd fit in with this group.

With the international break, it would be good if the club could invite him back. Would be good PR and give the fans a bit of a buzz if he popped in the hospitality areas pre match, Lance did an interview at half time and he could do the 50/50 draw? Wishful thinking maybe, be would be good for him to get a round of individual applause for what he did for us (and himself in putting himself in the footballing worlds attention). Nice thought, but I'd assume he is in the Scotland U21 squad?

Amazed we have had no one from Newcastle … All that work with EA and there is not another player we can help develop ? Maybe there is no-one that we want from them?

Saw this article yesterday, suggesting banishing a player from the first team squad could fall foul of FIFA regulations and UK employment law... theathletic.com/3549567/2022/08/31/transfers-bomb-squads/ [Paywall] " This transfer window ought to have been different. This is the first summer since FIFA clarified its regulations on the “status and transfer of players” (RSTP) in November. New commentaries of Article 14 (2) found that forcing a player to train on their own may result in a club engaging in “abusive conduct”. Footballers, the rules argue, do not warrant such degradation.
There will be readers who roll their eyes at that. How can a player, often well-remunerated, command sympathy when all they are being asked to do is train away from their senior team-mates?
Well, it is entering dangerous territory with UK employment laws. The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA), the players’ union, has been advising some of their impacted members this summer and continues to actively work with “two or three” players as this transfer window reaches its close.
“We see this tactic used now because there is this opportunity to move players on before the deadline,” James King, general counsel of the PFA, tells The Athletic.
“Managers change and they make an assessment of their squad, deciding that some players are not in their plans. But a player still has an employment contract and that is for a fixed term. The player is an employee and they have rights and protections like anyone else.
“This isn’t keeping a player’s skills up to the level they should be. These are professional footballers and the employer is obliged to train them at the highest possible level."

Not Rovers related so Mods please move accordingly. Just happy to celebrate Canada making the World Cup for only the second time. Now if I could only get them to change the awful red kit lol. UTG Don't know much about Canadian football so just read up a bit about it. Wow the 8 Premier League teams have a lot of travelling to do. Bet they don't get many away fans....Wanderers to Pacific is a 59 hour drive! And the stadiums are generally small, about 4-7k. Less than I would have thought. The CPL is a new league which was set up in the last 3 or 4 years but seems to have started well and appears to be growing. Most of the clubs are completely new clubs set up for the new league. None of the National Team squad play in that league. The three main Canadian clubs still play in the MLS.

Lot of being wise after the event on here! He’s been relegated once from League 1 and never out of the league. But I’d be surprised if he came back from this setback. Looks like he’s more comfortable in developing a team over time and getting his own players and working with them over time. Not as an impact manager coming in working with others’ players. As we’ve seen! But has he gone? Haven’t seen it reported anywhere. (Don’t do Twitter) Noticed Westbrooke on the bench last night. He’s had a bit of a fall over the two years. From promotion to the Championship to being close to going out of the league! Ouch! UTG! Zain's on loan and had a three year contract here when he signed. So he could end up back with us in the summer...

Interesting appointment if true, he’s already worked with the youth setup and attracted praise for nurturing youth players during his time at Walsall after leaving us. Surprised he hasn’t ended up at Port Vale with DC. Might be a geographical thing if he is based down south.

That’s no reason to force me (one person) to remain in the crowd of troublemakers and walk all the way to the train station just to have to walk most of the way back again to the street my car was parked on. Also overheard an officer threaten to hit a bloke who asked if he could take a leak down an ally. Course you did. Why are we so dismissive of gashead reports of aggressive and over the top policing? Nothing reported surprises me when I've witnessed the exact same actions by police over and over again during the past 25+ years of travelling home + away.

When we were last in League 2 we had Bodin, who was a cut above the defenders of the league and could always create something or get a goal from nowhere. I feel both these guys can offer similar this season.

"A football has come over into next door's garden on one occasion," Has to be Cian Harries surely? Explains a lot 😃 " "I went out and confronted the players and was passed over to the manager, Joey Barton. I've never heard of him but after a bit of a discussion, he agreed that they would try and refrain from kicking balls into our garden. " I thought you made that bit up, but no, that's really in there as an objection.

There is no visible light at the end of the tunnel and I am convinced that the light has gone out with regards to Barton so yes Maher in the short term. Going forwards can we have a Manager with no issues hanging over his head. get rid of Bond also. I'd beg GC to come back and steady us if I was wael. Couldn't see Bond in the duggout today. Mangan, Maher, Short, Warner all in there, plus Hughes.

Hope so but don't we already have qn assistant manager? No. Bond, Mangan and Maher all have the title of First Team Coach.

I'm a DAZN subscriber (live outside the UK, DAZN shows all prem & champs league for around £90 per year). The Joey Barton doc was advertised quite prominently on the platform the week prior to his recent assault charge. Once the charges were announced, the adverts disappeared without a trace.

Collins, Finley, Grant, Anderson, Saunders, Rodman all superb tonight. And nice for Belshaw to have a clean sheet on his debut.

Interesting from Barton: Last seasons budget was £2.5M-£2.6M, this season it will be £1.8M-1.9M

Statement now taken down from club website No it isn't, it's been amended and is further down. It now reads "The football club is aware of the court hearing involving Manager Joey Barton, scheduled to take place on Monday, 26th July. As there are legal proceedings pending, the Club is unable to make further comment at this current time." I think that was the initial statement from Sunday, which was superseded by Monday's statement which referenced the victimless crime. Monday's statement looks like it has been taken down
