"one of the most ridiculous penalties I have seen" & "farcical" sum up people on here's mood, but I suspect that was based on not seeing it at the time/seeing the replay which clearly show the referee being right in front of the handball.
At the time, as with a lot of the Blackthorn, we weren't sure what it'd been given for, until we heard from people who had a better view and saw it was pretty blatant, though unfortunate.
It bugs me when people sing things like "One nil to the referee" and the like, remember how bad they were in non-league?! Incredibly difficult to be 100% sure, and intent is one of the hardest things to prove.
Mentioned in other threads, but we'd all be up in arms (!) if it was at their end, we'd bellow for a penalty to be given!
Good win though, Broadbent was awesome, Sercombe too.

Lets not run before we can walk, now...

Wife called Penny I recall and he linked well with Blackie Gray but he did leave Melchester Rovers but signed for another Rovers (Walford?) so the name of the character lived on.Probably bit too old for us now. Imagine pitching something now with a character called "Blackie"

The thing a scout needs to do that a fan cannot is see if a player will slot into the team in the position needed. That might mean a big change in the style of play or the player to be adaptable. I agree you can get a feel from the fans, but someone languishing at one club might be a revelation at another because they are told to play in a different way. The example that springs to mind is Moses at Chelsea when Conte came in. Switched his position and he was amazing. Before that I'm sure most Chelsea fans wouldn't mind seeing him leave the club. I doubt scouts are usually four pints in by kick off, either

You only have to look at reports of matches to see that we don't all agree on who's good or not so good. Obviously you can go off the majority opinion, but in my group of mates there's disagreements about Ollie Clarke/Brown/Sinclair etc. so it's not always that straightforward.
Besides, if we all agreed - it'd be boring, no?

Now being reported by Barclay of the Sun as being close to a deal, can play left wing or up front so can see this one happening. #DontBuyTheSun

Slightly off topic, but I think our prices (and League One in general) are appropriate. I feel - perhaps wrongly, that our money gets spent on the upkeep of the ground, or people's wages, or utility bills, whatever it might be needed for, it's not like the Premier League where attendances could fall to zero and they'd barely notice due to the crazy sponsorship/TV deals in place.
I have this argument fairly regularly whenever these Premier League fans chirp up about capping ticket prices at ÂŁ20 in some cases. Doesn't affect us too much, but imagine Greater Manchester or Merseyside, why would any undecided or casual supporter pay ÂŁ18 to go and watch Rochdale/Bury/Oldham/Tranmere/Chester when for ÂŁ20 they could watch Everton/that other lot/Man C/Man U?

On that basis, I suppose we should be grateful that he didn`t sign Ron Jeremy. Surprised we didn't put a bid in for Kylo Ren. Was it him that sent Taylor to the dark side? (Sorry)

Without trying to sound like a wannabe ITK w**ker, DC told a group of us at the sponsors' hour on the open day that QPR wouldn't make a decision before August on Lumley.
DC didn't want to risk another situation like last season where we were scrambling around for a goalie and having to play Mildenhall with his no knees.

Cut out the FREE tickets given to various individuals who have:-
1 - never played for BRFC 2 - do not work for BRFC 3 - can bring along as many 'friends' as they like
I am not on about the tickets given to schools to encourage young supporters.
The club is being defrauded by these individuals.
I just hope if there was ever an investigating you can back these comments up !. Not that I am against 'whistle blowing' or good practice ! See also: Hospitality saga from last year

Maybe, and it is a big ask, but this is the beginning of Rovers dragging themselves into the 21st Century. Even basic stuff like a customer database so they know who's bought what, when - or heaven forbid, a way of buying away tickets online!
The ability to pay by card was a bit of a lurch forward, electronic turnstiles to stop the season ticket fraud that was going on caused by their own incompetence would be nice - and the meltdown on here would be hilarious when it doesn't work on the first game of next season.
Got a bit off topic there, I'm off to put the kettle on.

It could not get any worse I think the last bits of the Ward reign of terror, as well as the conference year were "worse".

As well as the club, we ss fans can do our bit by trying to get any young fans to the game. I'd just like to distance myself from this, as I'm no fan of The SS.

Just a question...and no knowledge of anything....but can anyone think that Pantsdown might have any interest in this? Seems to be expanding his franchise every which way. Or am I being paranoid? Not sure what about though🤔. Can't see it happening. Apparently he's building an indoor arena on the old Mercedes garage by AG for the basketball. He's always said he wants all the teams in the franchise to be close together. I heard he's just building a big vault to keep all his loose change in - like Scrooge McDuck, and outside there's a big mosiac that says "F*ck The Gas".

Here's the pic, though I'm sure we've all seen it.
Nice to see a thread about Wael & DC without the negative so-and-so's trying to bring us all down!
Yours faithfully,

You deserve every bit of criticism you get for all the crap you post on these pages, and I'm not the only one who thinks that. As for the original post, it's hard to take it seriously when (s)he writes in such a garbled style with no thought to sentance structure or punctuation. Not to mention using childish monikers like "Snake" or "Pantsdown". Blaming Wael for the atmosphere too? That's a new one! What more can you expect from a "Plastic Gashead" though?! Well if you think everything is "Hunky Dory" then that's up to you. And I don't like people who criticise other peoples posts with regard to structure or punctuation either. I'm with " OldToteender " on this. Well I didn't like being pigeon holed as "the new generation of fans as they know little of our history", to be perfectly honest. I don't see why some people are perpetually negative, and why some others are so quick to align themselves with it. That was my point, why just have a go at the owners and chairman and club as a whole? As he correctly pointed out, things have been a lot worse.

I know it's hard to be rational without instinctively criticising someone, but the rest of us manage.

We of a certain eastville generation ought to know better than to knock the new generation of fans as they know little of our history and are only interested in what has happened since D C took over any negative comments and you will be shot down in flames and called a ted, I ought to know I've had a lot of backlash recently You deserve every bit of criticism you get for all the crap you post on these pages, and I'm not the only one who thinks that. Whilst I created this post. I totally agree. There is so much presser and refs have to deal with schmarks like me pointing out their mistakes. They need help for sure. I find it kinda strange that there are constant calls for more and more video technology but few for more full-time refs. If each prem club gave a little more kitty we could easily ensure every game in the football league was "ref'd" by a full time pros. Often they are simply unfit. I agree re fitness. You have a fat man in his 30s trying to keep up with the play of 20 something athletes. Don't go criticising fat men in our thirties, me and tommym9 will be offended.

After our season in the conference I make a point to never criticise referees, even less so in the Premier League..
Was it Barnet at home with the handball on the line that was given as a corner?
While I'm here, it gets on my nerves when fans chant about the referee, as if that'd make him any more likely to give a favourable 50:50 towards the team who's fans have been calling him all sorts.
