So as I said to you many weeks ago. There is one rule for some and completely different rules for others on Gaschat? Remember to "conversation"? Yes of course you do. No I don't remember. I'm guessing you've had a thread moved and you still watered off about it?? I moderate this forum from a phone and it's a proper pain in the arse to move threads. Ones that are particularly contentious or are causing lots of arguments will get priority. Ones that are just light-hearted bollocks?....meh. Clearly you are still not over some issue or other but yeah, I try, where possible, to be fair and even handed, normally to my own detriment. All the mods do. Sometimes we get things wrong. Luckily, most users here understand that and cut us mods a bit of slack rather than whining on about something that probably happened months ago that only they can remember. Nope. Stems from rules you put forward and your interpretation.

Any reason why a subject, which has virtually no connection to Bristol Rovers, is still on this section three days later? To annoy GGMI. And you apparently. So as I said to you many weeks ago. Better still leave Lines out altogether. He creates very little, and even I could get one Hollywood pass out of every 5 to get to one of our players. Other than that he can't tackle, can't head a ball, and hits about one decent shot a season. Just not good enough. It beggars belief with such a poor CM we got promoted twice and finished in our highest league position for 17 years! Next week when we've created little for 60 mins posters will be saying why did DC start with Lines on the bench. Why can't we just have a balanced view, Lines needs a rest/kick up the backside once he's had that he'll probably come back stronger. Perhaps, as with many things in football, it's about balance and partnerships? Players playing in their correct position? Lines and Mansell worked incredibly well as they complimented each other. Maybe Lines and Partington might work too? Lines and Sinclair clearly doesn't (Sinclair is a hustler but not a defensive midfielder). When Lines plays in front of the defence surely no-one sees him being there to "defend and tackle"; he's there to start an attack. Yes cover as well but not in the way a defensive midfielder would.

There's absolutely zero chance of us going up this year but I don't really care if I'm honest; we're simply not ready. Does that mean I'd turn it down it if it was offered to us on a plate? Of course not. But some reality checks are needed. Every year (prior to this season) we have made significant progress under DC and our 10th place finish last year was our best finish in the league for getting on for two entire decades. Do I think we'll improve upon last season? In all honesty, probably not. But do I think we'll get relegated? No. Therefore, to be totally honest, it doesn't make an enormous great difference if we finish 10th or 19th - either way, we don't win a title and we are in L1 next season. Is that an acceptable mentality to retain? Of course not. But 3 promotions in 4 years - and our highest league finish for almost two decades in the one year we didn't get promoted - means one poor season (that doesn't result in relegation) isn't exactly the end of the world. To be honest, the amount DC has achieved, he deserves a "write-off" season; a season where you fail to progress, arguably move backwards but come out and hold your hands up. If we at any point look like genuinely being relegated then sure; maybe we need to review his position. Furthermore, if we give him next summer, provided he is given a budget that should enable us to progress and yet he still fails to bring in a squad capable of doing so, then yes - it may be time at that point to say he's taken us as far as he can. But he definitely deserves the whole of this season (unless we are in genuine threat of being relegated) whether supporters like it or not; he's earned that much. He got the summer woefully wrong. Who knows how much/little he was given, but Nichols has been a catastrophic signing. He might work hard, but Luke James worked hard and would have cost a fraction of the price and would have contributed just as much (on the basis he couldn't' have contributed any less). I'm not for one minute saying that Luke James would have been the answer; just pointing out that if we had gone for him instead of Nichols, we probably could have still brought in a LM and a DM, and we'd surely be a stronger outfit for it. That said, there is still January and - based on the signings we made at the same time last year - there's every chance a decent bit of recruitment will propel us to where we were last season. So yes, mistakes have been made this summer and yes - I really hope DC is looking at himself and thinking "I got it wrong this year". But he is a young manager, learning his trade and he has done a fantastic job with us so far. Relegation aside, he should be given this season whatever happens as he's earned that much IMO - but then I'd certainly want us to progress next season in terms of points tally and league position. On a side note, some of the abuse that arguably our best ever manager - and unquestionably one of them - is receiving from some on this thread/forum is appalling, and you should be thoroughly embarrassed and ashamed of yourselves. Did he get it wrong in the summer? He knew the players he needed (at the very least he knew the type of players he wanted) but couldn't get them in. Would you rather he brought in the wrong ones or the right ones at the wrong price (yes, of course, there's another story/discussion there). Whether he is using what he's got in the right way is a different matter though. Presonally I feel for Rollin. Has a great game when called on (also played really well in the pre-season games I saw) and then can't even get on the bench when two players, currently in poor form, come back. We have no defensive midfielder to replace Mansell. We play with no real width.

I would say this about any international team including England I have always believed that it should be club before country what I am trying to say is that they know what it is like to be without players being available and that all teams should be included in the international breaks Perhaps you might consider your thread title a little more. A bit ironic considering your avatar I do not see why the international break should not apply to all four leagues and then clubs mutually agree if they want to play. Clubs will know if they have players who could potentially represent their country and agree to play if two teams wish to and bring forward a match which is scheduled for later. No need then to reschedule games at all. I can't see a downside provided clubs give enough notice that they both want to bring a game forward.

Alongside Frankie Prince would sort out central midfield.

It is clear that we are having the same problems as last season, we cannot defend. Only Oldham have let in more goals than us though we have little problem scoring. My worry is we have nobody to challenge Lockyer and Sweeney. Burn and Broadbent won't frighten either of them. Most clubs in the league have a good defensive midfielder sat in front of the back four (Vincelot Bradford Grant Peterborough). We should have got one but for whatever reason. Did not. Ollie Clarke is not the answer, currently we are playing Chris Lines there but he hasn't got a tackle or decent header in him. I know we have a very capable team but it seems to me that Sercombe, despite being a good player, has upset the balance within the team. We are being over run in midfield every game. It's like when JJ played for us, he went forward, scored goals but left gaps and put pressure on the defence. I trust in D.C. but cannot see that we are going to finish any higher than we did last season. Yes, the cost of players etc, is high but we cannot keep living on underachieving, D.C. knows we are short and I think he is managing with his hands tied. Anyway keep the faith UTG 3 v 2 in central midfield last night.

Pretty sure if the ball becomes "accidentally" trapped it's a drop ball, it probably wasn't an accident but we're really clutching at straws hoping to sneak a 3-3 draw on the back of an indirect free kick in the box! More to the point why didn't Lines hit the shot with power into the net rather than a powder puff pass towards goal allowing the block. It was no accident he actually dived on top the ball. Good post on Twitter from @cazjmay

The ref was that twat Huxtable, as soon as I saw his name in the programme I had my worries. What has Huxtable so wrong? All I ever hear or see is our fans moaning about him. He refereed one of our games last year and was fine. Thought he was pretty good except a drop ball when the player lies on it to stop the game? That can't be right can it?

- We missed 4 great chance (3 by Harrison) - 2 really good ones - 4 goals to us
- They scored 3 goals which could easily have been prevented - their only "shots on target" - no goals to them
- We were outnumbered in central midfield
- How can a defender lie on the ball in the penalty area, stopping the game, and it result in a drop ball? - 1 goal to us
- We scored 2 goals - 2 goals we scored
- Other than that we played really well and should have won...
Agree with all your points except i dont think we played well. If everything I mentioned had gone the right way it could have been 7-0? The margins on each were quite small but incredibly important.

Yatetown - Harrison had 2 very good chances - one in first and another in the second - he didn't even hit the target with them !! So NO - as a striker he had a disappointing game tonight. Bodin, didn't have a blinder but he wasn't poor - he improved as the game went on - one exciting run and roll back set up Nichols whose shot was well saved, he then set up Gaffney brilliantly for his goal. I guess from this Bodin can do no wrong and Harrison no right? I wouldn't have been shocked if Bodin was taken off, he was poor Saturday and again tonight, may need a kick up the arse! I wouldn't even be shocked to see him benched Saturday, but we all know he'll play! Harrison was everywhere tonight, looked strong, winning headers, pressing high, basically everything Gaffney gets praise for, he's only fault was finding the net, but he should have actually stayed on the pitch tonight! When Gaffney came on there was a massive improvement in the midfield being able to find a striker because he came off his marker. Maybe there was more movement into the right places instead of Harrison being everywhere?

The ref - why bother with cards, just paint one hand yellow and the other red - complete fool. We were in our normal east terrace spot and the Lino was rightly getting some stick, he got so many offsides wrong because of poor positioning. Andre - he looked capable and what a baptism coming on in that match. Last point from me - our defenders do not seem to drape their arms around opponents and push/ hold back/ hold down, but many visiting sides do and it seems to go unpunished, is that my rose coloured specs or does anyone else feel the same? Agree with every point and no you don't have rose coloured glasses on. Ridiculous the way Gaffney was treated yesterday. And once the defender realised he was going to get away with it he kept on going. The ref totally lost control due to not picking things up in the first twenty minutes.

Not sure we'll win an appeal, I've not seen it frame by frame yet but if the striker is first to the ball and Slocombe makes no contact with it I think it will be classed as a foul, contact or no contact. That may be but does it result in a sending off if their player dived, which he clearly did? Ref was conned.

I don't agree mate , pause it immediately before alleged contact and his feet are both clearly off the floor showing his attempt to dive its plain to see I'm not sure why some think the ref had a good view; he's still in the centre circle, in our half of the field. He only saw the rear view. He had the worse view of all. Can't see properly, at the exact point of the incident, but the lino seems way behind. No way could either have seen the incident properly to send a player off.

dive for me but don't they all,I've slow moed it 5 times and both feet are in the air before he gets to slovombe Totally agree. Their guy is in the air well before Slocombe is near him. Bakayoko looks quite stupid in the "freeze frames" I have. Ref was terrible from the first foul on Gaffney which he didn't give.
