If we are going to bounce straight back we need signings of the JCH or RL quality, make no mistake we need at least a couple of star striker signings that will win us game after game not journey men looking to wind down their careers with their last paycheck. With the Rovers there has been a gap between desire and action plan. The claimed desire is to get immeadiate promotion, therefore the action plan has to be to sign lethal match winning players who can destroy opponents at the level we are playing at. The last season Hylton played at League Two level in 17/18 he scored 21 goals and got 21 the season before that. A proven goalscorer at the level who is a nuisance that can ruffle the feathers of defenders and also bring others into play. The list of out of contract strikers isn't particularly great this summer and if we are looking for one with a bit of experience I doubt we would find anyone with a better track record of over 100 goals at that level. Four or five seasons ago he might have been a decent signing for a club looking to get 90 + points

The CEO has declared the intention is to bounce straight back, to ensure this we need 90+ points next season, the club requires a squad in place that can manage this. Therefore we need lethal players that can win game after game. The CEO must ensure there is no gap between desire and a squad building action plan, otherwise in his next press conference far better for him to talk about flying pigs than bouncing straight back. Well if we stick with the sort of quality players we had this season then one word in your post is spot on...conference! Actually all words in my post are spot on. Also all words in your post are spot on

Not convinced by either of those two, both at the wrong end of their careers and not hungry enough How the hell do you come to the assumption he’s not hungry enough ? The assumption is very easy to make, both have had seven clubs - Danny is 32 and Josh is 30 in September, two journey men looking to finish their careers with nice contracts in the nice city of Bristol.

Anyone with ideas as to the names if three guys that we are close to signing I reckon Danny Hylton and Josh Morris are 2. Not convinced by either of those two, both at the wrong end of their careers and not hungry enough

Barton: Rovers closing in on three new signings From our point of view, (we have been working on) recruitment and understanding the marketplace and what we can and can’t activate. I think we’re close to doing three transfers that would certainly help us getting off the ground next season and help us be a side that’s going from a being a losing side to a competitive, winning side. You’ve got to understand the marketplace. For us, it’s putting in those structures to make sure we can hit the ground running the moment this season ends and the moment that transfer window opens, because we need to act really, really quickly. We’ve got no time to waste and we need to change this culture from a losing, relegated culture to a competitive, promotion-chasing culture. Anyone with ideas as to the names if three guys that we are close to signing

Good result today and a truly exceptional performance by one of our players. Still plenty to do in order to stay up, personally I do not think we wll make it - the problem is there are not enough goals in the side. I feel our best spell this season was when James Daly was part of a front two, but he does not get much game time these days, and up front is where I think we will fail.

Didn’t yesterday confirm that 442 (or variants of) is our best formation and we need to bring an end to the Hanlan on his own experiment? I am all for modern football and I hate going back to 1990s football but we didn’t half look a lot better with 2 up top. Maybe not ever 442, but definitely something with 2 up top. As I remember, this is what Tisdale did and we won a couple. Then we went back to the same old “watch Hanlan get outmuscled and fouled” formation. Hanlan looked loads better with Ayunga. If anyone should be played up top alone it’s Ayunga! I thought a lone striker was supposed to be a big guy? Did you see what I saw? Hanlan up top alone has to end. It hasn’t worked, he isn’t physical enough. It could work - put on half a stone in the gym over summer Brandon. Like Ellis did. Then you’ll be a no 9. Agreed we have to go with two strikers up top from the start

Ayunga looked more dangerous in 5 mins than Hanlon did in 85 mins. Play them both in future

Time for Westbrook to show us why he was rated so highly before we purchased him. He owes us a top performance! Options from the bench, must cut out our relentless defensive mistakes. They will score, but we will score 3 COME ON GAS! Only one striker starting I will be surprised if we score 3

None of our strikers are successful performing as lone hunters, our previous managers didn't really get that. I hope Joey doesn't take too long that we need two on the field hunting as a pair.

One striker selected and no goals scored - we have seen this before

Our two wide front men need to be on their game and turn the opposing defenders inside out

Ouch - only one striker starting, exactly the same mistake our two previous managers made time and time again.

My guess is Hanlan playing wide fight midfield in place of Nich My guss is Daly plays in the hole just behind the front two
