That's Chesterfield out of the equation. Late winner for Notts County. Free kick into box with an injured keeper who was never going to be able to come for it and a static defence. On a plate That last goal was like watching our defending, free header in the box!! I hate Notts County I hope Torquay turn them over. I thought the standard of football in this match was better than anything produced by the Rovers last season.

I would definitely have Abs back, in my opinion when he was on the pitch he was the clubs most effective midfield player, an up and "at em" player with a take charge mindset.

No it is factual, these players have been brought in because they have Northern Nous, they have not been brought in because they are exciting young prospects who will eventually be playing for Manchester City or Barcelona. These guys are at our club because they know how to Rock and Roll, they are not here to Tip Toe Through The Tulips. There is nothing about these characters that says "After You Claude". With all due respect, if you look at your original post to try to pick out the facts and opinions
"Players signed for their tenacity" - Opinion, but based on what the manager has been saying and I think what a lot of other fans agree with this is probably a reasonable supposition. "Two are 30 plus and have only one year deals" - Fact, based on the information released by the club. "So they have travelled south for one last pay day" - Opinion, how can you possibly know what they have been offered money wise, if they had other deals offered, what their motivations were etc... "The other two in their twenties would not be wanted by any team above level four" - Opinion, how do you know what other every other team/managers think of these players?
Lots of opinion not a lot of fact for me...
On your last post - I also think that they have been brought in to add a bit of grit and determination to the team. I don't think we would have the chance of signing any young prospects who are touted to be future Man City or Barcelona players as they tend to be playing for other top flight clubs even from a young age. Just my opinions of course.
We can argue about facts and opinions for ever and a day.
1) The signed players in the 30 -35 age bracket know they are close to the end and have taken the best opportunity available to see out their careers, Rovers will offer very good pay at level 4. They have not come south to Bristol for the cider. 2) The signed players in their 25 -29 age bracket gave come to the Rovers because they are getting decent level 4 deals. Never mind being pursued by Man City or Barcelona, these players are not being sought by any higher clubs paying more than Rovers. These guys have been brought in by the manager because they have certain attributes i.e. mentally tough with a take charge leadership attitude, they know their way around a football field. How do I know I am right on the above points - well that will be proven at the end of next season because none will be sold on for large money, or have a future higher than the Rovers, but our club is likely to win more games than we lose.

Charlie Mulgrew Connor McAleny 2 more possibly sorted If these guys are coming in then its decent news. Mulgrew is old but from his time in Scotland is very experienced in a winning team. McAleny can finish.

Spoke to a couple of very young Rovers players today at Nuffield North Bristol and asked them what they thought of our manager. They said he was "EXCELLENT".

I think Joey may not be the best of diplomats but something was very wrong at the club this season. Sometimes it is best to be quiet with ones opinions even if the results obtained suggest the comments made are totally correct.

Just seen Ryan Broom and Mo Eisa have been put on the transfer list at Peterborough. 2 players I wouldn’t mind us taking a punt on. I always felt Elsa was a talent and I would definitely take him, but I suspect JB already has two strikers just about over the line.

No idea how he’s got on at Salford or Fleetwood, but would be very happy with that if true. I've always admired Coutts. Good midfielder. Yep I always liked him as well

See allegedly interested in joe Lumley, Bakayoko leaving cov allegedly interested, as well as Mullin. Wonder who are the 3, that we are close with? Anssi leaving? If we are really after Lumley then I can only assume Ansi does have some kind of relegation release clause. Since there is no way Lumley will join a level four side to be number 2

Bristol post saying he ain't one of the 3 players almost done, so probably more of an intrest rather than a chance Apparently we are may offer him a better deal than Plymouth, we shall see what comes of this rumour. From the Twitter Universe "Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, Portsmouth & Charlton Athletic are interested in signing Cambridge United striker Paul Mullin, with his contract set to expire this summer." Given the competition I think it is very unlikely he will come to us.

Hanlan and Ayunga both injured Yes but are these injuries similar to the one JCH had before he left the club.

Interesting to hear Joey say after today's game that a number of players who did not travel to Blackpool were told yesterday that they will be leaving the club. Ansi Armstrong Jvs Andre Ehmer Koiki Kelly Hare Upson Ogogo Grant Nicholson Tomlinson Barrett Hanlan Ayunga Didnt travel to blackpool (any others?). So take your pick who has had the bad news. And we know some of those who did travel will get given the bad news on monday. Interestingly the first, second and third choice keepers did not travel, I assume Ansi is staying unless he has a contract with a leave clause he can activate because of relegation. Hanlan (whom I thought the manager rated) and Ayunga did not travel though both are still under contract, Daly traveled but did not start perhaps two of our strikers (or even all three) have been told to look elsewhere.

Now 30, I think he has scored 10 goals this season. The last time we got promotion from level four we squeaked through 2 minutes into injury time with 85 points, we had the top goal scorer in the English league that season. The one other time we got promoted from level four we only managed it through the play offs and we had a striker that went on to play for England. The CEO has declared an intention to bounce back immediately and the goal is to go on and become a Championship team, in this case we need to bring in players that will be devastating at level four and destroy the opposition game after game. James in joey s interview with the fans, he said the players we need next season are different than ones needed in league 1, and if we get promotion we go again and become more attractive and have better players to choose from, can t see us getting a devastating striker not a chance. I think you are probably right, history demonstrates that when we obtain a devastating striker we are a club that sells we do not keep.. If we are to go from level four to level two (declared intention) an attitude change is needed at board level.

The thing is the season ticket holders me included, have paid out in blind faith, like poker, we expect some decent signings, joey will have next season all over his CV, so I dont think he will accept Tommy s ex cov mates. Joey has said he wants proven strikers, we need fit players much as I love Billy Bodin he is injury prone and we need fully fit players. I want Andy cook from Mansfield decent for Bradford and reminds me of Rambo Rammell. Now 30, I think he has scored 10 goals this season.
