I am not completely against bringing Bakayoko in he has potential and is very different to what we have, could become very useful after about six months of coaching from Marcus. However we need a fourth striker one that would be close to the top of the managers list. I would have thought Cole would be the ideal choice given that he is considerably cheaper than say Doidge. The club needs a complete change of attitude at the highest level regarding strikers, if Cole is still available the club needs to go out and get him. The club appears to have spent plenty of money on administration and very little on purchasing strikers As for today a 21 goal striker starts on the bench and a 1 goal striker starts on the field - I hope this never happens again.

Trying to sign a striker that has scored 9 goals in 91 games. Great.
This is doing my head in now.
Who says we are trying to sign this player? You're getting your knickers in a twist about nothing.
Please show me a credible piece of evidence we're trying to sign said player.
He is watching the game

It is already difficult for us to get anything out of this game, GR and BM up top are required for the second half otherwise this is an easy home win

How about Jefferson Louis? He could do a job. Rather have Paul tait. All seriousness tho we need a Matt Harold type player a big target man who can chip in too I doubt that Amadou Bakayoko was number one choice on our managers list which included players valued by their clubs between £750K and £1 million but I would say he was a better player than Matt Harold. Amadou has good movement and can play others in, he is very different to the two other strikers we have, with some polishing on his goal awareness and right foot shooting (by Marcus) he could be extremely effective.

The most accurate guess Amadou Bakayoko big lad will occupy defenders doesn't have many goals in him (banjos and barn doors come to mind) but would be a good foil for GR who does have a lot of goals in him . A number of clubs apparently are interested in him but I would be surprised if he was anywhere near the top of our manager's list, if he is signed it would be all about the cost. Might develop well with Marcus coaching him, shooting and heading needs to be worked on. Are you Reilly's agent, as every post suggests he's a goal machine even though is from in Scotland's Championship was hardly spectacular in the second half of last season? Hard to believe we never made any attempt to sign Akinde but now going for a player who managed to score even less goals per game than Nathan Blisset last season. Reilly's Agent no I am not but have my ear close to the ground on him and have heard the opinions of 5 members of the club all are enthusiastic about Gavin, also I use my own eyes

I guess Tom and not Gavin will be starting. I saw Gavin training this afternoon in a North Bristol gym with players coming back from injury SS JP RM. Alex Rodman also training with them.
So probably Tom starts perhaps with BM, I guess Gavin hasn't got enough pre season game time, maybe he makes the bench. If the new guy arrives in time I guess he will also be on the bench

I guess the signing may be a pretty pretty substantial sum if DC is unsure afterwards whether or not he can then afford a loan signing. I believe that Cole is available for not much over £300K which to me would seem very good value, not sure what his wages would be though. Lets hope we sign a good player, certainly the club needs to back the manager strongly. If the idea is to get him before Saturday then tomorrow should be interesting.

I do not know enough about Rhys so have no idea if he will be a success or not. However so far the it appears we are unwilling to spend money on a good striker so an immediate attitude change at senior level within the club is needed. Cole is available for a permanent deal (I understand he is not available for loan) I suggest the club stops pussyfooting around and tomorrow go back to Wigan make him our fourth signing and a permanent one at that. Prices to watch the Rovers have gone up, the last thing season ticket holders need to hear is a senior member of staff sitting in front of a camera whinging about how tough the market is, a good player is available go out and get him.

Three days to go and we are still two strikers short, maybe we are close to bringing quality into the club, however our slow progress appears tantamount to wading through treacle we need to be far more proactive in bringing in attacking talent. I feel an attitude change is needed within the club in its transfer dealings, we appear to have too many midfield players and only two small strikers, one hasn't produced and probably is not wanted. I fear we may only get loan signings

The club seems to have a number of highly positioned "white collar employees" but we do not have a striker over 6 feet tall. Last season the clubs highest white collar employee said the Rovers had a top six budget, a statement generally regarded as inaccurate, this season the ticket prices have gone up and we still seem unable to sign a quality 6 foot plus striker, though the club appears to have no trouble selling strikers. Action is needed right now.

IF CD signs then Gavin will complement him perfectly - he has a lightning burst on him.

I like DT and think he has the makings of a very good striker but once we signed Gavin there was little chance of him coming here

Cracking signing - we have got a quality player Hopefully we can now get a couple of really good strikers with the Ellis money

Even before the announcement that Ellis was leaving we were striker short, at this moment in time we are now in effect two strikers short with the season about to commence. This suggests a business reaction not consistent with a promotion plan. Of the two senior strikers we have at the moment I think one is potentially a real gem that will win matches if played with the right partner, the other I suspect is not really wanted. I think right now the club has to back the manager big time and move heaven and earth to bring quality in to our strike force.

I think Tareiq Holmes-Dennis is a done deal - the hold up was with paperwork at the other end. Our manager always said he wanted two left backs so not surprised if Scott also comes in. Tareiq I suspect if his fitness holds will end up being first choice, but of course he was injured for virtually the whole of last season so bringing in Scott (a very experienced pro) would be smart.

Getting Dom Telford would be good on a perm deal, what did the other players say about THD anything?
Two that I spoke to were very enthusiastic about him

If Ellis does go (I hope he doesn't) but lets face it our manager was pretty tight lipped about his non appearance yesterday, then I would like the club to pull out all the stops and get the very dangerous (for opposing defences) Christian Doidge. Gavin Reilly I think is an excellent signing but will need a bigger guy to play off. Also I feel another young good size striker (one for the future) needs to be signed, meaning that for match days we have two on the field and two on the bench, giving the manager an opportunity to mix things up if needed. Looking forward to Tariq joining us next week at left back another cracking addition to the club.

Very disappointing that we can start with one striker today. As a club we seem to struggle to bring strikers on board, we need at least one and two if the speculation about Ellis is true
