DC after match interview says not to expect a big signing. Has a long list of players he would like - but has had to scrub several off the list due to cost (fees and wages). May have some news early next week.

He’s basically ruled out Doidge and Cole there.

He’s basically ruled out Doidge and Cole there. and Stockley. Not good enough. Club happy to put the prices up and treat us like customers instead of fans but not producing the goods in the windows. Pull your fingers out or DC will be the next one gone, Al Qadi's!!

Fair play d c always talks the truth imo if I was in his position I would be on my way to a club that has more ambition as I thinks he's being treated crap at rovers

Listening to that from DC leaves me feeling very worried
Have a horrible feeling we could be in trouble this season - hearing we can’t even compete financially to get someone from Exeter is worrying

Were just like shrewsbury, walsall, gillingham, burton, wimbledon, plymouth, rochdale and several other league one clubs. We have to get by on free transfers, loans and trying to bring players through the youth set up. Were not special and its not what we hoped for when the owners came in but we do have some very decent league one players so all is not lost imo.

DC suggested he did not have the budget for him but liked him. Surely we can pay better wages than Exeter ?

Although I don't get his comments about staying within the rules as surely EH's transfer fee (& RG's) gets added to the turnover, meaning that we can get in a decent replacement(s) and still stay within the SCMP/FFP rules. As things stand I can't see DC's spent anymore on players wages than he was spending last season but s/t's prices have increased and we've more seats to sell.

We received £400k plus for Bodin, £750k plus for Harrison and £150k for Gaffney - Surely it is not unreasonable for the Board to make a fair chunk of that available to DC.

You could be and I hope you are right Topper. As DC does like to play mind games. I've little faith in the board with the way the club is going at the minute though.

I doubt Exeter will cave in and accept the first offer we make like we seem to have done when Ipswich made an offer for Harrison, I bet Hurst will be sat at home tonight wondering how he got EH so cheaply after his impressive debut v West Ham.

Ha, part of me did wonder if he is playing mind games and we are after him but trying to lower Exeter's valuation. Surely we could put a lower fee but higher % clause.
