It’s a shame Joey can’t pull on the quarters himself. He’s not so long finished playing and would be just what we need in the middle of the park!

3 defeats and 2 draws following his appointment, will he survive until the summer if Port Vale keep failing to win games/drop into the bottom 2? DC's turning into the next Paul Trollope, in fact he's been in a slow decline since he suggested that he'd spoken to him about his time at Rovers! Early days at Port Vale, where he’s inherited a bit of a mess. Objectively he didn’t exactly fail at Walsall either. If he gets Port Vale safe and then pushes them into the top half next year his stock will rise. It’s a perilous game being a lower league manager.

I hope he stays but not sure he will if we drop into the basement It’s not as if he hasn’t got his reputation riding on this as well, though. If he gets relegated with us, trying to get us back up might be the best option he has at that time, in terms of his management career.

A little perspective needs to be thought of here. Hull are a big side, 2nd. We were away. We had a lot of positives especially 2nd half. It is sadly another nail in the coffin. If we get relegated, we have to collectively man up and take it with good grace Yes, I think this is fair. I also think we have everything still to play for. The players will be very motivated for Tuesday against Accrington and that will be a good litmus test for where we are. Everyone knows there is a massive gulf in this division between the top few teams and the rest. We’ve had a poor record against the better sides ever since we got promoted so hard though it is, we have to stay positive as we probably have as good a chance of staying up as any of that bottom 7.

Is this DC mk2. He said we have to dust ourselves down twice. 😛 Measured response from the manager. Going to be tough to lift them for Saturday but it’s still all to play for.

Hanlan looks like he’s not bothered now and head down, this is where we miss Jch as he played with such determination to get back in the game Hanlan has worked his arse off all night and is playing through injury.

But people want Leahy and Elmer out as mistake prone so time for a new captain? 😘 Leahy has undeniably been mistake prone but the good with him has outweighed the bad, certainly in the last few games. He’s a fully committed footballer that’s easy to warm to. I doubt that Ehmer lacks commitment either but for whatever reason has found it very hard to settle in under either of our previous managers. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a much better player now if the defence as a whole is better coached/organised.

Tisdale looks a lazy appointment, although I doubt anyone would thought he'd turn out as bad as he did, what's odd is the two players he brought in, Day and Williams, are now looking two good signings as would like t seems have been Stockley, although Charlton's play off push seems to have come off the rails since he joined them. JB must seem like a breath of fresh air after the last two managers, but no doubt the BG fan club won't see it that way. Yes, that BG fan club of about 3!

So someone tells Wael that Barton is interested and then a week a few days negotiating how many of his entourage can come as well. Sounds pretty plausible to me. I got the impression from one of his interviews last Monday that he’d been watching our games for a while. Not knocking the club at all if they were in touch before firing Tisdale. It might just be that they saw that he had become available and were proactive.

Daly for Hanlan at half time please. He can sniff out a goal. It’s no coincidence that our best bit of football that resulted in a goal didn’t include him. That’s really harsh considering he was involved in a lovely team goal against Wigan. He’s very capable but he’s been flogged to death and his confidence is shot.

He’s so poor at finishing. You are correct. He really is not good enough. We’ve got nothing in the effing box!

I mean, we’ve got to stay up!
I like the ambition but if we go down we know from experience that it could take years to go back up even with big backing in league 2.
I’m getting that horrible sick, nervous feeling reserved for relegation scraps. Maybe the lack of fans in the stadium might actually help us though. There have been some really poisonous atmospheres at the Mem when we’ve been fighting against the drop in the past. Three points today would be lovely.
