Why do you think he wouldn’t accept it? Do you think he looking for a Premier League club now Stoke have lost their place? Do you think he is going to get any offers that are better? I'd agree that he is likely to sign for Stoke given the status of the two clubs and the money they would presumably pay him. However, the idealistic bit of me says he's a young lad making his way in the game who might, just might, have the brains to realise that he will develop quicker in League 1 than in the reserves at Stoke. Who know's what conversations Darrell's had with him... Long shot mate but ok. I’d be amazed if he signs for Rovers. As I’ve said on another thread though I think if Stoke had stayed up we’d be signing him on a free this’summer. But new manager Gary Rowett knows all about the Championship and will not have made the offer of a new contract to Dom if he didn’t think he was going to be in his plans.

Stoke HAVE offered him new deal, see link in League 1 transfer thread. No brainer for him then. I’d say so yes. It’s funny old game though because I think if Stoke has stayed up he’d have been released.

Also worth mentioning I found his comments about his departure from Plymouth interesting. Basically saying the fans don’t and can’t know the real reason for his sacking due to a non disclosure agreement and that they give him grief without knowing the full story. He didn’t get the sack at Argyle he left to manage Milan Milandric’s Leicester just days after telling fans that he bled green and white and went to bed in green and white pyjamas and was not a shred of truth in him going to Leicester and wasn’t interested in leaving. The Green Army have called him Hollowords ever since. He likes to tell fans everywhere he manages that he’s the no 1 fan, makes me wonder how Gas he really is.

I'm surprised about how little of the side of pitch their new stagecoach stand goes, it only covers one half of the pitch. I presume they intend to extend it to cover the other half of the pitch in the future? It will be nice going to Exeter and not having to stand exposed to the elements in their old away terrace, that thing actually made our away section look good! The stand cannot be extended further because the space is reduced by a railway line. The old stand wa the same.

Er Yes and I remember it being a lot darker and a lot wetter than in that pic. The 0-0 we ground out in the drizzle that November night could possibly the lowest point in our history!

Scunthorpe’s support is pathetic! How the hell do they have a bigger playing budget than we do! Wealthy owner just like brentford, city, preston, fulham blah blah Bournemouth get 10,000 in the premier league but there wage budget is about £35,000,000 more than ours. Bournemouth get slightly more TV money than us. Scunthorpe don’t so what good is FFP?

16,000, still better than 6,500 at Scunthorpe. Scunthorpe’s support is pathetic! How the hell do they have a bigger playing budget than we do!

Fair play to Tranmere, they deserve to be in the Football league on the balance of things. A large fan base and decent attendances too. Their third year in the division, that could have easily happened to us. Do feel for Boreham Wood, they just failed to capitalise on the advantage given to them. Agreed well done Tranmere, good to have them back. Can’t feel for Borehanwood the last thing the league needs is another tiny club from the outer reaches of London.

McNulty for Tranmere is a unit isn’t he. Has the physique of a man that spends half his life in the boozer.

Good ex Gas contingent on pitch. Jeff Hughes for Tranmere and Angelo Balanta and Danny Woodards for Borehamwood.

Don’t waste your breath lincsblue. Midland may as well be a shithead ‘not so secret’ agent.
DC is up there with the best managers that we’ve ever had. If he was perfect and didn’t make mistakes though he wouldn’t be our manager for long would he? It really beggars belief that we have morons pretending to be gasheads criticising and wanting him out,.

With nick day moving on, would you like to see a more crowd lifting mc like the Atlético Madrid one, the bloke goes mental when they score and makes the crowd chant the goalscorers name. Also plays music when they score, would you like to see this introduced as people keep mentioning the crowd has been tamer this year at the mem. I hate goal music, the day we do it will be a sad day for me. I’d be happy if we had someone quite upbeat but not in a hyped up Americanised way. I hate goal music that much that if we introduce it I will stop going. American crap. The football league should introduce a rule that immediately disallows any goal that is followed by goal music.

On the one hand DC suggested we'd never cope in the Championship but on the other seems to be aiming to get a top 6 squad for next season, what happens if we do a Shrewsbury next season and then manage to get into the playoff final, lose at Wembley on purpose as we don't have the set up for the Championship? Anybody notice the long pause after GT asked DC about the ALQ's?? Having talked to DC a year back I think the pause is probably because he wants to believe in Wael but knows it’s Hani that ultimately is in control and his relationship with Hani is more distant than his relationship with Wael.

Plus I can't imagine his wages will break the bank if Stoke don't offer him a new deal - fingers crossed it's been Darrell's plan all along to hold Dom off of minutes in the first team in the hopes of getting him on a free I've seen a number of interviews from DC now pretty much insinuating that he has kept Telford appearances quiet and under the radar so we can snap him up this summer.
We are all aware of telford's ability, but if we did start him all season and he banged goals in for fun, either stoke would have him sign a new deal or a bigger club would snap him up for free. It's selfish on our part you could argue but how hard is it to find a proven goalscorer in today's day and age, especially one on the free too!
Our chances of signing him will not be helped by Stoke’s likely relegation. Stoke probably don’t see him as a Premier League player for them just now but might take a different view if in the Championship.

Have to say this has been one of the funniest threads I've read in a while! I suppose all you can do is laugh as our tent city expands. I just hope security is tight next season as the damage just one hooligan and a stanly knife could do to our ground is pretty scary. And a season or two ago a stray shot took a drainpipe out and almost clonked some away fans. You could take the south stand apart with a Stanley knife and a few footballs😀 Yes that was against Port Vale and almost hit my cousin and his young son on the bonce!

“Bristol Rovers were excellent tonight, they played really well and they moved the ball well. They were a constant threat and kept getting in behind us and created chances. “We were very fortunate to take a point tonight so great credit to Darrell and his team.” Nice that an oppo manager calls it as it is and not spout the normal moaning fantasy ridden crap. Mind you I wonder if he would have been so gracious if they had HAD to win?

Good that we are going electronic but investing in this now indicates that maybe nothing major is going to change with current ground set up anytime soon otherwise why not wait to do it along with the redevelopment?
