"I have rated our players based on the fact that we looked the better of the two sides, had more possession, more shots on goal and would have beaten them with a referee with an ounce of common sense or refereeing ability" I fail to understand why we have to change formation every game because I am sure it confuses us as much as the opposition. Plymouth for all their recent results are a poor side especially defensively and if we had gone at them from the start I am sure we would have comfortably won. Totally fed up now with the constant changes and players making the same errors week in week out. To be honest I am grateful that we have 50 points and will be even happier when we have the 55 that will mathematically see us safe because in all honesty we are nowhere near a Play Off chasing side.
Darrell your "projects" are failing as often as they are succeeding so look at yourself as much as the players. The top sides in this division are invariably teams who keep settled sides. SteveK even your own report doesn't makes sense, you say in one para we were the better side and we should have won, then go onto say the players are all confused and we're nowhere near a play off side, even though in your opinion we should have just beaten the form team of the league who are currently in 6th? We lost yesterday as every major decision went Plymouth's way, even OC's goal was a fluke, not because Plymouth outplayed us or because DC got anything wrong. Bang on Topper. We played very well and but for an unfortunate own goal and appalling refereee who didn’t send their defender off for bringing Harrison down when clean through and awarding them too soft penalties we would have got a result our performance deserved. i really appreciate Steve taking the time to write up such comprehensive reports but I really don’t get why he feels the need to constantly criticise probably the best manager we’ve ever had. He isn’t perfect, if he was he wouldn’t be here would he? But we have absolutely zero chance of getting anyone better with our ongoing rag bag set up!

Suspect Adams was simply reminding the Gas that they seem to think he was being "sacked in the morning!" last year That seems a long time ago now When all is said and done we are on a run that frankly few of us can believe from where we were and expectations are tempered with a how long can it last realism. The key for us is we score every game ( well for the last 19 at least) so it takes two to beat us..... I think the first pen was soft, but we sportingly missed it, but the second was nailed on. The biggest let off was the sending off that could have happened to Songo'o which would have changed the game... In the end it was a must win for both teams really and thankfully we did.....I wish you luck for the rest of the season and if you play the next five games and get the results we did for our last five then you are right back in the mix.... No-one down to 11th is out of it yet as so many have to play each other... Just apropos of nothing when is Harrisons deal up? Thanks for your view. I agree that the decision not to send your defender off for bringing Harrison down when he was clean through changed the game. An absolutely appalling decision, did the ref actually think that Harrison would rather have “won” a free kick than a clear run on goal? You certainly had the big decisions go your way from an incompetent homer of a ref. Harrison is on contact until end of next season. He will no doubt be looking to the Championship by then if current form continues, so assuming we aren’t going to get promoted you will need to if you are to have any chance of signing him.

Like guess who? Heavy handed, or disinterested. Anybody else? Our little group had no problems with them but then again we weren’t posturing around like pricks, smashing our seats up and chucking them about, or then trying to break through netting to fight with stewards, police and threaten the home fans. On that last point though if they really wanted to fight with the home fans they could have done but like the cowards they are they somehow couldn’t quite make it over the empty seats to reach the hundreds waiting for them on the other side. We have some utter cretins amongst our support and if the police were heavy handed with them they absolutely deserve it. Hopefully CCTV will be checked and the morons can have their day in court and a long banning order. Especially those who were breaking and throwing seats some of which injured our own fans as they flew through the air like frisbees!

After leaving chosen pub any advice on how to blend in with home fans? 6 of us in enclosure nearest away end. We have come up with rolling on grass so we look like we're wearing green, carrying a jethro album and constantly voicing our admiration for sir Francis Drake! If you are in the seats closest to the away fans you will best blend in by shouting obscenities at your fellow gasheads and gesticulate that you want to fight with us until your arms want to fall off. Anything less than that and you might as well stand there in full pirate regalia! I think they call that area of the ground the Zoo corner!

Britannia for the fizzers and when you are on the way to the ground, look out for the Ivor Dudney pasty van! Giant pasties for cheap prices. Never had such a lovely, weighty pasty. Ivor Dewdney is my favourite pasty ever. Absolutely delicious, there is also a van selling them at the end of the path behind the away end by the park gates. You can’t go to Plymouth and not have an “Ivor”

If NH wrote off loans or converted them to shares then yes he funded the club. Until DS show intentions to do that then no they aren't funding the club just providing the cash to keep it trading. Nice that you think the 8% of other shareholders should fund an office for a company they have no financial holding in. Keep lapping What's the difference between funding the club and providing cash to keep it running? Genuine question. Funding and Spending are two different things.
Funding is providing money but with the intention of getting it back with or without a return. When you buy a house a bank helps with the funding by giving you a mortgage. The bank doesn't own a part of the house but will expect the money it gave you (to fund the purchase) to be paid back over an agreed time with interest. If you fail to do this they will take the house off you, sell it and recover their funding that way.
If you had put a deposit of your own money towards the purchase cost you have spent this money on buying a house and you will only recover it when you sell the house.

How pathetic. Slagging off fans who care enough to moan. If they didn't care they wouldn't moan. Remember we've had 50 years of bullsh*t about stadiums etc. I say moan and keep on moaning until something positive happens. Meanwhile contradiction, get back in your igloo and keep ringing the water board to reconnect you. Who knows, perhaps the cavalry will be coming over the hill to rescue us anytime now. My post was not about moaning, it was about Rovers fans talking out of their arse. This board do things properly and professionally. Some fans seem to hate it, which is strange. This board have delivered nothing. We still play in a ramshackle embarrassment of a ground, we still have no training ground, we still play in the league we’ve played in under every other owner, we still sell our best players to whoever comes along with two ha’pennys to rub together and we still have players who want to leave as soon as they have a decent season with us. The only thing proper and professional about the running of our club is the first team management.

‘Evolution not revolution ‘ There’s not much sign of it over the last 12 months is there really? We’ve sold our best player but got in different pies. At this rate is going to be after all our lifetimes before anything tangible happens People have to face up to the fact that it’s “actions rather than words” that tell you what you need to know about anyone. I get that people want to believe in our current ownership, I did too, but they do not deserve the undying loyalty and absolute faith that they still receive from a sizeable portion of the fan base.

Tbh I do expect the board are fully looking at the stadium situation as without a new stadium, there is no point of them being here. Everyone knows that without a new stadium we simply cannot progress. It's very simple. So I don't believe at all that the board is doing 'nothing'. However, I do think they could be a bit more imaginative with their announcements. For the last 10 years or so we've been told, "talks are on going, I can't say more than that as it may disrupt the current plan, but be assured we are progressing" - Why not say something a bit more like, "Yep we have plan A & B - like any business we need to explore both avenues properly to determine whats best for Bristol Rovers. We have ongoing talks with stakeholders for both plans and and we're hoping to be able to announce more information in the next X, providing things move ahead well. We appreciate this is frustrating for fans to hear, but trust us that we are fully committed to getting Bristol Rovers a new stadium" - I'd feel much more positive after that, personally... Maybe they don’t say that gassy because it ain’t the truth.

TBH I wasn't encouraged by tonight. I thought only DC stood out as ambitious which begs the question 'how long will he wait for big things to happen? I thought there was much vagueness about the board and without any tangible evidence it comes down to trust they are investing for the long term. The stand out phrase for me was by SH 'We may develop the Mem or elsewhere'so we don't even know where our playing future lies.In Feb 2016 we bought a Porsche, we still have that Porsche but the brakes are firmly on and we have no idea what direction we will be travelling. Did you expect them to say anything different. Wael said not long ago we can't really about it as we are still having discussions. Expect we are looking into new sites and redeveloping the mem. If they put all thier eggs in one basket, fans would be moaning then! No I don’t expect them to say anything different but also I don’t expect that they are not saying anything because they are having discussions or looking at alternatives. My expectation of them saying nothing meaningful is because they are doing nothing meaningful! It’s an absolute shambles and the long running silences both before and since they bottled UWE is disrespectful and unacceptable. They have shown that they have no ambition to be anything more than what we are.

The best escort ever for me was Swansea away in April 1980.
As we piled out of the train into the station the singing from the Rovers fans was immense. Must have been heard all over town and we soon started attracting attention from the locals. There was a bit of ‘bantering and threatening’ going on as we were marched past their pubs and through the streets but then the funniest thing happened as three Swansea fans appeared across the road looking like they wanted to fight all of us. That was funny enough but the Old Bill got involved and tried to nick them. Two of them were quickly apprehended but the third was giving a copper the run around a parked car. It was like something from Laurel and Hardy going this way then that until the Swansea fan tried to give him the slip and ran out into the road and promptly got knocked down by a passing car. The whole escort were falling over laughing as he was marched off battered and bruised from his exploits.
Then when we got to the ground and were waiting to go through the turnstiles the Police were searching everyone and just as we got up close there was this tinkling sound of metal hitting the ground in front of us and then some donut saying to the obvious source of the sound ‘here mate you’ve dropped your knife’ in full earshot of the coppers doing the searching.
We then went on to lose 2-0 with a typically inept away performance and we all trudged back to the station in a lot lower spirits than coming in. Then to cap it as the train trundled through Cardiff we got bricked by their fans and one of the missiles came crashing through the window next to us
They don’t make away days like that anymore!

Look at the league table here as at 28th March 2014, the day he became our manager. www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-two/28-march-2014/ , now look at all of the teams that were our rivals that fateful season. Remarkably given that we were about to be relegated to non league only 3 clubs in that table are higher placed in the pyramid than we are now; Burton, Scunthorpe and Argyle and only one is playing at a higher level. I think that gives perspective on what a fantastic job DC has done for this club and we should remember that every time things don’t go our way or we get frustrated by a defeat or an ever changing team. If he was perfect he wouldn’t be here but he is a whole lot better manager than most if not all of his predecessors and anyone who thinks we could do better given the rag bag set up we have and are likely to continue to have is cloud cuckoo.

On the 19th Feb can season ticket holders buy multiple tickets for the game or just one per voucher code? UTG Priority group 1 is season ticket holders and helpline members who are allowed 1 ticket per membership.

Not being too personal but he needs to go on a diet, he has for a while struggled to walk across the pitch without getting out of breath, very sad. I hope he can improve his health, enjoy listening to him on Radio Brizzle. A fantastic chap to be doing the job he does, there can't be a better man on the mic at any ground in the country. He gets the crowd going but also his speeches when we all need to take stock such as the terrorist attacks in Paris or the death of Geoff Dunford are very moving. On another note I don't think I've heard Bing Bong Man this season, am I imagining it or is he just now speaking at appropriate moments?

Wimbledon conceded 4 tonight.Thinking of our squad, Ellis,James Clark,Locks,Leads,Sweens.Bola,Bernardo,Bennett etc none of em started to-night for various reasons so squad looking strong all of a sudden.Game in hand over Muff. What's not to like? How things can change. The game at Argyle on March 17th looked for all the world as if it was going to be a relegation six pointer at Christmas.

We are on the same points as we were at this stage last year. Last year we had W12, D9 and L11. We had scored 49 and conceded 51 so had a GD of -2. This year we have W14 D3 and L15. We have scored 48 and conceded 50, so again have a GD of -2. We were 5 points of the playoffs last year but Millwall in 6th had a game in hand. We are 5 points off this year but have a game in hand. If only we didn't have that poor run eh. Good to see that we might think it’s possible.. Well that's all well and good Rich but what about those of us who booked a Whitsun holiday after another slow start!

Heard the interview on Radio Bristol on my way home from the game on Saturday. My immediate thoughts were that DC has spoken to Hurst about it, and he was/is thinking of quitting. If he is thinking of quitting (which I hope he isn’t) it will more likely be because he feels betrayed by the owners not the fans!

It's how I felt after we got relegated to the Conference which was around the time this forum was born after the club closed down the Official Forum.
