Another low point for the club, the day we couldn't compete with Forest Green. It just proves how bad this league and how poor we have become FGR top of the pile 😱 I wonder what supporters say about Brighton and Brentford being above them in the Prem…… no logic here, the club name is almost irrelevant if run well and have a good manager and a decent squad of players

Always disappointing and a bitter pill to swallow. Relax, it’s all part of the master plan….
Stay in the mix until Jan, buy a goal scorer and then beat swindle at Wembley to gain promotion!
Simples!

Will the appointment of TG be the ignition this needs?? Gorringe being another employee who is being quoted as stating ‘an exciting time to be at the club’…. As is all clear to us poor fans there hasn’t been anything exciting about the playing aspect of the club so something must be cooking up, AGAIN!!!

Question I have to people who went or watched - were they playing for Joey? Agree

Nice that the 2 scorers were youngsters. Might encourage Barton to see that its the way ahead! Not injury prone has beens! Still do not want it to sound like a moan and hope everyone just enjoys the Victory! Up the gas!! Pitman with the two assists according to radio Bristol, has beens often have wise heads. He did nothing all game but to his credit he kept getting in the box. So his perseverance paid off!

where has he been i only saw him oxford game and thought he was a real talent is he injured??? Not sure if this is the reason but he does seem to have been held back since he had his tantrum at the end of the Oldham game. You could see he didn't look happy and Joey was talking to him as they walked off. Others saw it differently but for me it showed he was only playing for himself and not the team. I mean we are all guessing a bit but it does seem to be attitude related. Maybe making an example of him and who knows if he is still sulking around the training ground or not, who knows!

When Wael came in, nothing needed fixing as it wasn’t broke. He started messing and stating ‘evolution’. Although I do feel Waels heart is in the right place he is, unfortunately, clueless on how to run a football club and has been ill advised and still can’t believe the damage that has been done by TW and Wael.
I do feel with the right person helping Wael, a true football person than we may stand a chance of turning this mess around. Will always love supporting the blues bastards but it is really quite painful again right now. Optimistic that things will get better.
3 points tomorrow night!!

I hope we have a creative midfielder lined up to replace him. Not sure about the replacement statement… as he was completely ineffective and you afford a player that will not get stuck in. Complete fraud of a footballer for me

Love the optimism but we need a goal machine for that to be realistic. Rest of the squad looks ok on paper

Everything he says here convinces me more, we got rid of BG too soon. Adding an experienced DoF (not TW) to work with him might have proved more successful. More worrying is the fact we have been so dysfunctional in terms of recruitment (imagine if we'd had Piggott last year!) and the CEO seems to be a joke to everyone but Wael. I have always said it was the wrong decision to fire BG when we did as this was a massive project that was always going to take 2 or 3 years to see the end result. What I take from Mark Littles interview is that the people who were to blame largely for last season's shambles are still here. We all know TW can’t do any wrong. Like Teflon as he was smart enough to get into bed with Wael and it’s paid off.

Please can we go all out and buy a striker, I don't know who, just one that knows where the back of the net is. Absolutely right, we need a lethal predator in the team and a different approach to our forward play I have only heard the name Pitman mentioned, but he is 33 going on 34 Exactly what we need, a wiley old pro who knows how to be awkward to play against and decent at set pieces.

Are they views from teams in our division? Yes they are. Some tipping us for top 3. Mansfield fans seem to be expecting a tough opener! Mansfield should do well under Clough.

Burton did say at the time they couldn't match what we offered Rodman maybe we gave him 3 years with a trigger clause in his contract maybe we even gave him 4 years. Rodman has been 1 who would have impressed Barton so wouldn’t surprise me if needed for the league 2 aerial battles

Don't rate Westbrooke, never have. The odd fancy flick or decent pass that comes off is not enough to make up for the countless times he gives the ball away, losses a 50/50 or fails to track runners. Most the time he's a liability. He might look better in a decent team full of quality attacking players but I think we can now all see why Coventry decided to let him go. He'a luxury player. I guess it depends what you call a chance but I've watched every game and there is no way he's created anything like 77 scoring opportunities. Really hoping somebody takes him off our hands this summer as he's no doubt on a decent wage. He's certainly not one I'd be sorry to see leave. Agree with everything you say here, although to lose a 50/50 you actually have to challenge in the first place! Also, wouldn’t mind him as a squad player in a league 2 squad.

Great game. Well done the lads and more importantly Joey. I cant bring myself to post on the BARTON OUT THREAD. We are lucky to have this bloke. Passion, commitment , knows the game (I wish he would put his Boots back on). Sorry I don't care what off field antics or what he says (all press crap anyway), the guy wears his heart on his sleeve. This is Rovers, UTG get behind him, we will not get Pep, Klopp or any of those guys. Do we think that Joey is going to spend his whole managerial career at L1 L2 level, I don't think so. Lets get the most out of someone who has been around Prem level. Their is no one else at the club that has anywhere near the exposure to top level football than him. Exactly this, it’s taken someone who has been at the top of the game in recent times to come here and to see just how tinpot our beautiful club is / has been for far too long. Like him or not, it really did need pointing out just how village we have become. There have been glimmers of a future under Wael, but will need energy, passion and more importantly understanding of modern day football teams which Barton does have. L1 or L2 we have to give Barton a chance to see through some important changes to the way our club is run. Tisdales sessions and attitude was too laid back and young aspiring clueless coach of the year got us in this mess. Here’s to a great result and praying for some battling performances if nothing else.

Improved performances in most of our games under him and had a long injury list to deal with at the same time. Can't legislate for individual mistakes which has cost us. The blame lies elsewhere, I think anyone with any understanding and half a brain cell can see that. Fair enough, Tisdale and Garner off the hook too then. Assumed joeys Job was to coach them and stop these mistakes. Silly me. They obviously need to spend even more time watching Ramos on YouTube. You’ve clearly misunderstood the use of using examples of defenders who defend and die for the cause and do things to win at all costs! Tisdale isn’t to blame. Garner and the blind backing of him by TW is mainly to blame, along with the few experienced pros we actually have in the squad.

Like this, let’s hope we get a response tomorrow. He’s very motivated just needs to let the past go now and move forward. My Dad always says that Don Megson’s Rovers were the best he’s seen in his 70 odd years going to The Gas. They were fighters. If we can’t get these youngsters fighting for the chance to be playing Lge 1 football next season then they as players are severely devoid with ambition. Exactly this... it’s not rocket science.. football needs a mix of experience and talent with a whole squad willing to fight every game. Look at the successful squads we’ve had that have had success.

God what a f**king awful presser. Sure the love-in will continue but I've heard enough. Keep your mouth shut Joey and just do your job and pick up some points FFS. It’s refreshing to hear a manager tell it how it is instead of listening to a load of cliche driven bullshit interviews.

He was guaranteed to keep us up apparently. And everyone was more than happy to blame Tisdale. Don’t get me wrong, this side is sh**e. But I do feel he’s still falling short as it stands. Don’t agree sorry!

How did Oztumer play in his short time on the pitch? He farted. That was about it. Did nothing but at least he put himself about a bit, unlike that pantomime horse Westbrook! Maybe a talented footballer but not got a tackle in him which isn’t great when you’re fighting for survival
