Sinclair will be quality in the League! There wouldn't be a midfielder in the league who will enjoy playing against him.

Ellis back to the bench? Yes or no?
I think Ellis has been a vital part of our run to the top of the league, but as Solskjaer used to for Man utd, he is best used from the bench. Yes he has bought us many points with his vital goals but he must be saved as an impact sub.

After seeing Gateshead dominate our midfield for the best part of the first half at home, I'd be amazed if DC went with 4 in midfield. I can see all three, Manse, The Beard and young Tom in the middle of the park. Nuff said, it's nice to have selection dilemmas!

Gateshead, best footballing team I've seen at the mem for a number of years. We are chasing shadows, better with 3 in the middle matching them up shape wise. 1-1 take a draw now..

Big GERMAN goalkeeper... Don't know why we have any need to worry. 3-0 the gas... With a clean sheet for the young Man. He's got a decent back four in front of him. He ll do well. UTG

As much as I would have loved for it to be given because I hate Martin Allen and he would have deserved it.. He did actually head it. Although it does look like a handball I was stood in the corner by the linesman and am sure he headed it. If you zoom into the fuzzy YouTube clip you will see. Have to wait for the highlights or pointswest to clear it up later. Still buzzing this morning, that could be the lift this squad needs. UTG

To conclude-Is this a blip or are we not going to get any better? I am really not sure but came away from the game today feeling that despite a long unbeaten run we look a poor side with very little direction from the Management and maybe we are lucky to be as high as we are!! This really hurts to say it but I agree with your last bit - as you say I see no direction from the touchline. What is Stewart doing with our forwards ? - why do they always go for power with their shots. A side -footed finish in the corner would get you goals against league 5 goalies. Don't agree with attacking Stewart, I always study the warm up and during the shooting practice Ellis attempted a couple of shots with his laces and messed both up embarrassingly, Stewart shouted over and even demo'd a side foot shot action. Not his fault out players lack quality, confidence and most importantly a brain! Taylor makes intelligent runs and is selfless with his movement, but we can all now see why FGR didn't keep hold of him, not a natural goal scorer sadly for us all.

I also really like what I see in Taylor. His movement is old and often gets himself between the ball and the defender. It will take one off his backside to get him going. He also punches above his weight (height) when challenging for headers, for a small bloke he has a great spring.

Harrison, again for me is just not good enough. He does not have a footballing brain and is to slow to react and to even think about when to close down the opposition defence. Credit to Matty Taylor today, when Harrison came on, Taylor did not stop talking to him and giving him advice. In my opinion though, Harrison needs games on loan to learn the mens game at a competitive level, I hope he can prove me wrong. I think Clarke is managing brunt well, he will use him when ready and he needs to prove he is worthy of a place in the match day squad.

Anybody in the know, know how the pitch is holding up at FGR this morning. Will there be a pitch inspection scheduled?

According to FGR supporters, they see him as a threat, as 2 seasons ago he scored 4 times against them.....
..... Odds on scoring tomorrow anyone?? Thought he played ok on Saturday, jury's still out on him, although he looks to attack the ball if put into the box. Important Martin has a good game to provide service for Cunnington and Taylor.
Can't wait for tomorrow, let's show them on the hill and all bank holiday BT sports viewers how noisy us gasheads can be. ( even if we go 1-0 down!!) UTG

I completely support Clarke and has an almost impossible job. But I'm left scratching my head listening to the commentary thinking, why change a defence that has just kept a clean sheet! Answers on a postcard please!? The only thing I can think is that leadbitter is not fit therefore change if system!! Bizarre as I thought Parkes had a decent game Saturday. Come on you blues.... Plenty of time yet!!
