Hallelujah!! Business like... it’s a football match... all about winning matches and finding out the best way to do that. Breath of fresh air at last! UTG

The thing is... with a packed out mem under the lights last night I feel we would have taken at least a point from that game!

That because there isn’t going to be one. We’ve already been told by Wael. MS said: "We still think there’s a lot of positivity about the situation. "We’re working very hard behind the scenes to get something done, but inevitably there are delays and COVID has not helped to move things forward as we would have liked." Not sure how you can read into those comments that the stadium plans are dead and we won't be getting a stadium for 10+ years. I still can't see Wael would throw £25m+ our way with no hope of a new stadium or ever getting his money back one day, just to save on interest, which are at an all time low. Exactly this.... you don’t throw money at a new ‘training’ ground if you then are giving up on the thing that is going to generate the revenue.... hmmm!

What sort of welcome will he get from City fans? Assuming he’s going there as assistant.

Anyone know how soon Little or Hare will be available?? Think we need to bring in a right back on loan, if either are out for a while. Little never seems to stay fit anyway. Rodman has done a job, playing as a wing back. But he's not the best defensively, so I don't think he can play right back in a 422 or 433. It's all well and good signing wingers and being linked with wingers. But without a right back, we will struggle to change formation anyway. Worst case we could play a left back there, or Kilgour played there against Stevenage. But IMO we need a recognised right back. Again, like many I’m not massively keen on loans. But heard Chelsea have a few decent young rightbacks on their books, could be worth an enquiry!

Lots of accurate comments in fact fellow gasheads!
The exact reason ‘modern football’ drives me mad. I will back BG and remain patient with what he’s going to try. However, Stevenage played like us under GC tonight and won, dug in, fought for the cause and it paid off. For all our possession, and slow build up play, it was pointless. Unless we can sign 3/4 more Josh Barretts, who looks class by the way, we will struggle to play possession Based football and be successful.
Still excited about what BG is going to do and who he’s going to bring in. But f me, I prefer watching winning football regardless of style.

Mayo looking like a Cb that can only play in a 3. As much as I like Mayo and want him to do well he is an awkward footballer and just needs to head it and kick it and not think too much!

Kyle Bennett is a lightweight waste of space!! Like playing with 10 men with him in the side

Only one person to blame, that twat Coughlan. Left us properly in the lurch at a busy and critical part of the season instead of seeing the campaign through. A change of manager (and coaching staff) is bound to affect players one way or another Agreed, how can a new manager come in a few days before Xmas and stamp his authority without leaving the players feeling instant resentment. Sadly a lose lose situation for the new gaffer. Hope players stand up and be counted and follow model pros such as big Tone during this difficult period.

Get in!!
To any gashead that has loved to moan about the style of football played by us this season. Maybe you’ve lost touch with what football should be about. Performances and results like tonight is what creates a team spirit and I’d rather watch Kilgour, Craig and Menayese throw their bodies on the line and die for the cause than watch a contrived style of football played by a bunch of pre Madonnas.
Chuffing love it!!!!

Shoehorning Ollie C back into this team and sacrificing Upsons forward thinking play (see the last 6 games), is the single worst decision since I don’t know when. OC has been a good player for us but its currectly causing us problems in our side. The balance to our side goes with him back in the 3.He is the worst one of the 4 that plays in CM. Results prove this, sadly. I’ve always liked Clarke for his battling performances, but he didn’t complete one single pass tonight and that just isn’t good enough. Needs to be dropped to make a point to the rest of the squad. And yet again, Nichols chipping the gk and missing an open goal is yet again inexcusable. Back to the drawing board!

A new thread just for balance. I like the man. Lovely man, unfortunately he has a PE style of management, let’s hope it works for him in 2019 / 20. People keep mentioning PE style of management, seems to work for the Lincoln lot!

A far more resolute system and really like the back 3. Tyler Smiths movement tonight was excellent, him and JCH will cause problems if fit this season. Agree with many that we need one creative spark somewhere in midfield.

Bit of perspective. Just look at the Sunderland squad, full of quality and not a league one team / club. Lost 2-0, no great shame in that. It’s the teams in and around us we need to batter! Onwards and upwards! UTG
