When we are safe from relegation would like to see him get some game time. Maybe at defensive midfield as he used to play there at youth level. Great news and bright young prospect. Good work Gas!!

A lot of spot on comments about how we sat off and allowed them to have the ball at the back. That performance took real discipline from the whole team especially when the crowd are getting inpatient and shouting to close them down and press. That must be a managers nightmare when the crowd are yelling and getting inpatient. When you lose shape and you press as a single units that's when you get picked apart and concede goal after goal. It was clear MK had no plan B and DC clearly knew this and exploited it, as their no. 10 was an absolute beast but he was never going to trouble us in behind. Therefore having them play in front of us played into our hands. What does worry me still is the lack of real class / quality in the final third. However games like yesterday are the sort of results we need to grind out. Great 3 points and back to winning ways!

Part of me admires DCs philosophy of trying to win every game, however, why are we playing 3 strikers, 2 ball playing midfielders and a central midfielder which lacks pace, all in the same team away from home to 2nd in the league! Left scratching my head somewhat. No wonder we conceded goals.

4 victories surely means there isn't much weakness. But being a smart arse aside, I think most of us are thinking lack of depth potentially. The one thing DC does elude to a lot is about playing to the strengths of the team rather than having a footballing philosophy. Therefore if we have 5 ish attacking full backs, then who needs another Moore in the squad when his time will be limited. I with you would love a top quality left winger though as they are the sorts of players that is fans love to watch and would provide another option. Keep the faith, as testing as it is sometimes.

Smith looks to be an excellent signing, good distribution, calm decision making and very quick coming off his line.
Ellis played as well as I have seen for a long time. I am not his biggest fan but always want him to do well. Just still lacks the movement and footballing intelligence to really be first choice up front. Will do an ok job as squad player again this year. Lovely text book finish header back across the goal, fair play.
Back 4 looked well balanced and sweeney is a real unit and will get better every game with match sharpeness, hence why DC played the team and subs how he did tonight to get up to speed as quickly as possible. Leads looked good but a worry about his hamstrings etc due to blistering pace, hope he's ft for sat.
Brown looks like a man under pressure for his spot on the team during first 10 mins. Settled into his usual reliable role and performance level but again without truly being tested. Him and Sinclair are a reliable combo but don't offer much going forward, much prefer seeing sincs in the centre as I'm sure is obvious to everyone else. I'm thinking putting sincs out left is a message from DC to Wael to get him the left winger he needs.
Lines needs to stop attempting Hollywood style cross field passes and just keep things simple, nothing wrong with switching play as long as it is done quickly. I do enjoy watching lines when he is in full flow and on his game. Him and sercombe in midfield really excites me, Sercombe looks worth every penny spent on him and more, going to be crucial for us this year and need to keep him fit and free from suspension!
BB, well this guy is our match winner and even if not really in the game always worth keeping on the pitch, defenders know he wants to get it on his left but some of his 'drop of the shoulder' are just unplayable and so calm when taking the ball into the box.
I said on another thread about Nichols and likening him to Shane Long because of his movement, energy and work ethic. Feel we have a high quality player on our hands here and still young and hungry to improve. If he starts banging in goals at home I feel he will become unstoppable.
Enjoyable performance and this game came at a perfect time after the weekends dismal performance. 3 points Saturday UTG

Sercombe looks absolute class. His little bits of movement from throw ins and in open play show immense awareness. Lines shows some nice touches but he is too often looking for the Hollywood cross field pass, but will still have a lot to offer the team. Nichols reminds me of Shane Long with his running style, hard work ethic and natural spring and definitely has excellent technique. I feel we will see him score some silky goals. Still slightly concerned that if Bodin gets injured we will struggle to score goals. Can't rely on him with the rest chipping in a few goals here and there.

Captaincy aside, Lockyer is in the team for the way he reads the game. He reads the game so well and what he lacks in pace he makes up for in footballing intelligence.

You only have to look at the other goal scorers who scored in the league for other clubs on Saturday, mostly out and out dangerous goal scorers. We need a goal scorer who can score a goal out of nothing and score 20 a season, we don't have one and until we do we won't win games like the Charlton game.

Hang on, most of us thought Roos wasn't up to Div 1 football, DC manages to manufacture a situation where he's recalled and so off our wage bill and posters complain? What would they sooner happen we're stuck with Puddy in goal and Roos on the bench until the summer. Hopefully the Italian goalie will now impress this week and he's signed or DC moves on to his next target. It's hardly DC's fault Roos is now seen as inferior to an ex Conference goalie? Exactly this! Curci was hyped up to eventually replace Buffon 10 years ago. Ok, so what has gone wrong?! Who knows, but Dc has clearly played the Roos situation smartly and will not be surprised to see Curci sign for us later this week.

Incredible today and has been all season! A lot depends on promotion and our wealthy owners to stump up a lucrative contract. Best player on the pitch by a country mile today.

Ellis will not and should not be leaving this club yet. He is the main reason why we DONT need this BIG man striker. He is our best striker in the air and when he is concentrating and on his game he times his jumps really well and hence we don't need a tall striker. At times I have heavily criticised Ellis, however he has something about him that can win / change a game.... And with players of that ilk, they will often frustrate and I too often forget he is still young. The promising thing with Ellis and the way DC manages him, is that Ellis seems to be improving all the time.
As for Matt Tubbs, get him on board, if DC feels he's right for the squad then yes please.

I thought Orient were a decent side who shut us down well and kept possession better than us. Felt sorry for Tyler Little who was at fault for both goals and generally struggled - I hope that doesn't knock his confidence too much. Orient will be in the promotion hunt at the end of the season so this result isn't a disaster. Over 1,000 Gasheads there today - impressive for a long trip and they made lots of noise so well done Gasheads. Completely agree with this, they were a very good side who closed down very quickly, were very organised and seemed to have that win at all costs mentality (falling over at the slightest of touches!) Their no.14 ran the game and Lines didn't even get close to him to even check what deodorant he used. Their centre backs were big and no-nonsense defenders and gave Harrison, Easter and Taylor no time or space all game. Their no. 10 on the other hand, what a cheating ****! A game best forgotten and nothing to worry about.

I think the opinion Harrison and Brown have of him, says it all and should answer any doubters. Will be a good experienced league two squad player and will more than do a job. You need model pros like him in the door. If he had pace and a million assists he wouldnt be playing for the likes of us. Excited for a good play off run again this season. UTG!!
