Its exactly that. The friendlys against us is the only way they can make a decent amount of money, unless once in a blue moon they have a cup run. Wasn't WSM something silly like £12 though? And FGR £10. Yeovil £6. £6 AND junior's free well done and thank you Yeovil town

Free kick from left of penalty box hit low and hard to Billy Bob running into box who side footed high into the net to the keepers left. Gas dominant solid at back slick in midfield. Byron Moore playing well and getting a lot of the ball. What do you reckon on the formation? 4-1 4-1? EH looks isolated? Broadbent looking impressive.

Sometimes I think some of the views about signings to be very odd? If we are not raiding the gold store at another club or it isn't a known 'name' then people seem very underwhelmed?
The reality is that the clever club's uncover gold nuggets in unusual places for themselves. The alternative is to look at the same player's hoiked round the circuit by the agent's.
Nigel Martin anyone?

Honestly THIS IS the best thread of the closed season. Enjoyed this alot. Also a great reminder why I'm not on Twatter!
Can someone please provoke both idiots so we can all enjoy the spectacle of round Two?

What I have been wondering is if we have a number of players on pre-contract agreements? If we have I guess we will see a bulge of announcements over the next few working days. If not then the more nervous types will continue to fret.

Actually fed up of people slagging off and making cheap jokes about Luke James. He's easy pickings now, the guy gave 110% for the shirt so he won't get much criticism from me. Agreed It is a thin line between prolific and not enough quality to be a professional footballer. The question is when that first goal comes at this level (for us or someone else), will it open the floodgates and he becomes Prolific striker that DC believes he will be?

The other Stat I would like to see is attendance Vs % of Stadium capacity for the league.
We all know the Facilities are not great at the Mem but it would give a good idea on what promotional offers the club could really offer.

The original planning permission definitely allowed for 6000 extra seats to be added to the 21,700 already in place, with no further permission needed. ahh hopefully I'm not going senile then! I have posted on this before. We have the option on around an additional 6k seat's. Depending on the internal configuration will be just above or below AG. We DO NOT need PP for this. We might have issues on the safety certificate regarding infrastructure. The question actually hangs around VAT. You do not pay VAT on new builds extensions and refurbishment you do. Depending on cost it may be worth adding the 6k straight away.

It's a good gesture by the club just a pity some of us have to work so can't make the Open Day. Yeah you're right topper, this will be the first one that I've missed , and to be honest I'm gutted ! The flip side to that argument is that I normally can't go and take my family but this time I can.

Quick thoughts... New players...James - never really in the game, disappointing. Moore - Looks promising good but of skill and pace to put Monty through to put us 2-1 up. Impressed with Broom, although he is a RM, I wonder if he can be converted to a striker as he looked promising this evening. Getting in the right positions and making the right runs. MOTM for me was Monty - Could start the season now, think he could really push on this season, quick and powerful, looked really up for it considering it was a friendly. Easter looked decent when he came on I thought too. Not sure about Greenslade. Not inpressed me in any game I've seen him play. Lyttle and Kilgour I'm stll undecided on but look raw. P.S Take my comments lightly as obviously only a friendly. Just saying what I saw this evening. I know it is a the first friendly but Luke James is some way off being a League One Striker we need (at the moment). However Ryan Broom up top could be!Very impressed and really pleased to see him pushed up top and DC experimenting this way.

I believe we have planning permission for 27,000 (iirc they said it could be expanded to that without new planning permission required) and I believe we can have pretty much any internal configuration we like. ie. the PP is essentially for the external dimensions and the attendance. Hopefully the final internal configuration will include a football pitch, though. Plus should Wael decide to he could always seek pp for a large capacity stadium, safe in the knowledge if it's turned down then he can still build the 27K capacity stadium. Given Monday's the 13th lets hope they pull their fingers out and announce something today given how much bad luck we've had with our stadium plans so far. Although where's SH at present back in this country, or still in Portugal at the FL meeting? The question is about finance. New builds exclude VAT. Refurbishment or extensions (eg Ashton Gate) are liable for VAT. It might be our interest to go for the larger capacity now. As I say this will be down to the financing. Also one other point - the orginal design allows upto 35000. This was before safe standing. I believe that we will see anouncement of about 28k including safe standing with an option to go to 35k.

Utter Nonsense!
If you wanted to improve thing's in the manner the article says surely you would reduce the number of team's not increase it?
Ie three divisions of 20 with a further 12 team's being banished to non league fighting to get back into the FL.
This smacks of the clubs being treated like Turkeys then asking them to vote for Christmas!
Never going to happen!
Well done to the consultant who got paid to put this together. Take your fee, have a pat on the back now please file it in the round container in the corner as you leave the room.

3 scenarios: 1. Mike T is a clever chap and the owner thinks he will be useful to have around 2. Mike T will be overseeing the merger or acquisition of a US soccer team with a view to developing talented young Americans who have ambitions to play in England 3. Mike T will oversee 3rd party investment to finance the stadium build. As I understand it, Private Equity investors often take shares in the entity they are funding without necessarily charging interest. They make their money by cashing out when the potential in the project they supported has been fully realised and their shares have increased in value. Given that a new stadium is our most pressing requirement and bearing in mind that other appointments appear to have specific roles and directly relevant skills, my money is on scenario 3. I look forward to reading over on "on the blob chav chat" how the "delusional sags" think that they are going to bring in the best of the USA while completely missing the sarcasm in post.
