We have five in-form strikers (according to DC), and two fit CMs. Yeah but Rickie's not a striker - he's a useless fat midfielder isn't he? Or that's what we thought he was when he first arrived at the gas as I remember!

Looks like a tough fixture his one. Bit of a bogey team, large away following, gas currently on an unbeaten run. Got a loss written all over it!

Statement from BCFC82: "We are aware of the disappointing images from the Cheltenham Festival that have been printed in various national newspapers this morning. We will be speaking to the players concerned and will take appropriate action where necessary. ENDS"

To be fair he didn't actually do anything. Disgraceful behaviour from the others though, allowing themselves to be associated with a sh*thead. Realistically though, don't you just remove yourself from that situation? It's so obvious that it's going to end badly and if you are a part of that group and directly in the public eye then clearly you're going to be associated with it. What a bunch of morons.

That really is tremendous news. If we truly are close to debt free and now breaking even (or even making a small profit) on an ongoing basis then it's really something special. Given Wael's proposed strategy for the club you'd really expect that this is a path he'd want to continue down in terms of making the club self-funding and sustainable in the long run. A huge amount of credit must go to DC as well for putting together a squad that has been promoted last season and is challenging for promotion this season - and on a fraction of the budget of previous years if the 9500/6500 number is to be believed. What a team the club appears to be putting in place. Officially getting excited about this now.

It's a great video and a great song. Eastville was before my time so interesting to see all of the memories. I bloody love that quote from Chris Brown as well.

If all we have to worry about is the fact they have better stickers than us then I reckon I could live with that! But that's not all we have to worry about is it? In fact it's probably one of the least important things but it is something that us fans can have an impact on. Each to their own mate but for mine stickers are a bit primary school aren't they? I've got no problem with people wanting to do it but are you seriously worried that they can sticker better than us?

It will take at least 6 months to source a new sponsor, and that will be hard going given there aren't many businesses willing to invest in shirt sponsorship below the prem. So won't happen in time for 16/17 season and may never be able to get more than we do from lottery unless / until we get much higher up pyramid I think the OP was implying the Al-Qadi's would be sponsoring the shirts to get around the FFP, personally I think fans are getting a bit carried away thinking we're going to be the Man C of Div 2 when it all likelyhood we're "just" going to be a v. well run club. If we're going to have a 40 million quid loan for our stadium build with the Arab Jordan Investment Bank then the least they could do is sponsor the shirts I reckon.

If you listen to Will Dubey's interview he distances himself a bit from the analytics side of things going forward - even though that's the bulk of his previous experience. His role seems pretty confused other than to say he is a point of contact to provide communication between Darrell and Wael when he's not in the country. I found the whole thing a bit odd. I'd be happier if he'd said that he's 100% focused on analytics and that he was going to advise DC on loan and transfer targets. That's not really what he said though.

Here's a Notts County fan who gets his predictions nearly spot on. Score: tick. Guess the crowd: only 102 out. Anti-board protest: tick. *************************************************************** Elite_pie Posted Thursday at 17:06 I'm afraid I can only envisage another defeat here. Barring some miraculous kissing and making up the expected absence of Aborah will mean a very unpleasant atmosphere. The anti-Fullarton feeling will be evident from the start, and if we go a goal down things could turn really nasty which won't benefit the players at all. Rovers are in poor form away from home (lost 4 of the last 5), but even 'poor' may well be too good for us at the moment. Prediction: Notts 0-2 Rovers. Att. 4,950 *************************************************************** prideofnottingham.co.uk/community/topic/4353-match-discussion-game-35-the-pirates-h/?page=1Bit disappointing he underestimated the crowd figure. Maybe he mistakenly thought we were the 82ers...

Good on you for being so honest about the situation you were in Brian.
I'm sure we all hope that the new board is more receptive to fans and their involvement and they've certainly been making the right noises so far.

You don't understand the Bishopston Green ethos, then. Recycling centres are for other parts of the city where poor people live, see also, factories, supermarkets, and football stadiums. They can drive their 4x4s to those. The area where they live is to be set aside for expensive housing, allotments, and coffee shops. That's the best way to live in harmony with the environment. Remember, if you can't see it from your bedroom window, then it's not happening. In fairness what did a sainsburys supermarket offer to local people ? It's not as if Gloucester Rd isn't already full of shops and with large tescos at golden hill and eastgate its kind of not offering anything but more traffic . In an ideal world the site would be better used for a mixed site of flats and trade units giving space for new jobs ...or does everyone have to be a shop worker these days ? If the site was developed using more green technologies I think you would have found many more locals on board and perhaps even wanting the development. The thing is though this would not have raised the money needed to build a stadium under the old regime. So our greed and needs surpassed any desire to enhance the locality and get the locals onboard. As events played out having the locals against you doesn't work very well does it else rovers would already be running out at the uwe stadium. The siege mentality where everyone is against us works well in some situations in others it is a massive liability ,better to have friends and allies than enemies.....except of course that team in north Somerset Well likewise if you'd done a little more consultation with the dog walkers you'd be playing in a nice new stadium in Ashton Vale by now instead of fighting relegation in a building site. As it turns out the people of Ashton Vale didn't need another football stadium. What did it offer to them when they already had a football stadium in the local area? So your greed and needs surpassed any desire to enhance the locality and get the locals onboard.

I'm sure these appointments are good news for the club, but a couple of facts worth noting: 1. Wembley finished £300m over budget (to put into context, the Emirates stadium cost £400m in total). 2. According to the Financial Services register, both Lee Atkins and Hamilton Lunn are no longer authorised to conduct financial advice in the UK. Rovers aren't our rivals but we spend our spare time trawling through the financial services register in a desperate attempt to try and discredit them. Embarrassing really.

Being objective, you only really get passionate about the KS subject if you happen to know him personally. Although I have met him I don't know him, therefore it never effected me in the way it did some others. He was an outspoken critic at times and if you decide to be that person you have to accept what sometimes comes along with that. Hope we can all move on now. If outspoken critics of the way the club is run were all going to be banned from the club then half of this forum and most of the other forum wouldn't have been allowed to turn up on matchdays! I can promise you that I have never met Kevin Spencer and I can also tell you that I had a lot of time for Nick Higgs who was doing a bloody difficult job in a pressure cooker situation whilst all and sundry slagged him off. A lot went wrong for Nick (ie managers, stadium issues etc) and I have a lot of sympathy for him despite his tenure being pretty disastrous for the club. I'm really glad that he may ultimately see his stadium vision delivered by the new board because I think he deserves that. But the Kevin Spencer issue was a large blot on Nick's copybook in my eyes and I'm pretty disappointed that it has taken Wael and/or Steve Hamer to put this right rather than Nick being the bigger man and doing it himself. Happy to move on now it's done and dusted but just want to point out that you don't have to know Kevin Spencer to think that the whole thing stunk to high heaven and the 'evidence' that Nick used to try and condemn him was totally farcical.
