Someone really needs to poke the other lot. This is obviously the best deal for those owed money? Not the club? From what I have been told, this lot are willing to build the UWE to the designed spec. The other lot weren't. I posted earlier but I think it was lost that the current board will stay on as advisors. People will obviously mock the idea of the current board staying on as advisors - but in reality Nick's construction experience and initimate knowledge of the stadium design together with the board's knowledge of the local football and social environment will be required by any new foreign ownership anyway.

People just assume its bad because they are foreign. Lets be honest i can't think of anything as bad for the club as what we have now. If BRFC are not yet in their hearts we all have a duty to put it their !!! I assume its bad because "investment" suggests we will keep the same people in charge. Do you trust Toni to run things any better than the last 10yrs, especially if he has a few Dinars in his back pocket? A fish rots from the head. We need a serious look at the mistakes of the past so we can be sure we make the most of any potential influx of money. Toni's probably bricking it. A firm of bankers looking over his shoulder full time checking up on him must be like his worst nightmare.

I've feeling we may need this thread a little longer. I live in hope. It should be allowed to reach 300 pages. I think it's earned that right.

Not doubting you at all but it seems a bit odd that they'd send a family member over to run the club if it was just a small investment. Can't believe he'll just be coming here to eat pasties and watch a couple of games of League 2 football. They take over HSBC in the world of business but they watch league 2 football in their spare time! Unless he's making us a feeder club for Chelsea of course... WHAT!? Take over HSBC? They're that big!? Yes, they acquired HSBC's operations in Jordan. www.ajib.com/en/content/arab-jordan-investment-bank-ajib-successfully-completes-acquisition

Unfortunately guys this is not the deal you believe it to be - the current Board stay on - and a scaled down UWE with little money for DC (or his replacement) At least the Wonga loan will get repaid on time. 'significant investment' is an interesting choice of words - as opposed to 'takeover'. Could be nothing of course but implies there's a chance NH will stay on the board. Time will tell. This article just continues the speculation for now, but looks like the idea would be current board stay on, which I have always felt was what Higgs was looking for and why he brought in Sexstone, as not a credible proposition without him Would love to see the Duke of Guernsey's face this morning. Significant investment in the other show in town wouldn't exactly have been in the plan for Bristol Sport's attempted city-wide domination. On top of that we also now have his Sextoy. He must be ropeable.

Could well be exciting times ahead. Wonder when (not if) we will start building the Al Quadi UWE Stadium! The great thing from our perspective (and theirs too I guess) is that the stadium build is 'shovel-ready'. All the planning is done and this can be built immediately IF funds are forthcoming from the Jordanians. Added to which the shirt sponsor may not need to go in the raffle any more. I'm guessing we might get AJIB on board for that one now.

Great time to bring back the black arab kit I would have thought.
Let the slick Rovers marketing machine be mobilised once more...

Home many times will we see the words "tick-tock" over the next 17 hours each? Gaz needs to get some sleep - he's got a big day ahead of him.

Nah, Nick's probably up late just double checking he gave those Jordanians the right account number before he goes public. Hope he didn't leave Toni in charge of the banking side of the transaction.

Well it's Friday morning here in oz and I'm already PUMPED for this mooted announcement. Thought we'd best have a match day thread for such a potentially club-changing day (or not as the case may be). I'm personally hoping the day is going to be less tick-tock tick-tock and more tick, tick, tick, BOOM! Heart says a 4-0 win to gasincider, head says otherwise. UP THE GAS
