Like i said before: perhaps their should be a rovers rumours thread so that people whom take offence of rumours can choose to avoid and so that those with 'sources' can share and share a like. To be honest though i thought that this being the 'main forum for Bristol Rovers talk' would make it ok to post rovers related info / rumours / heresay / facts.... In the past it hasn't been a huge problem. But for five months now we've had constant consortium talk, from different people with ever changing time frames and stories. I think that's why some find these particular strain of rumours frustrating. I'm sure if nothing happens tomorrow there will be some kind of explanation and it'll involve us talking about it for another week. Isn't that the purpose of the forum though? Talking crap about rovers and putting up spurious rumours? Maybe we should just stick to guessing the gate if it keeps people's blood pressure down...

If you read all the threads you can develop over time a good appreciation of which posters are reliable and which are not. I also look at what posts are liked by certain posters as that can often tell you as much as the post itself. I also hear snippets from various people both on and off this forum and I add all of this into the mix. I don't need to know the primary source for every story, I'm able to make a reasonable judgment based on all of the above to decide how much credence I give to stuff posted here. At the end of day this is a forum for people to chuck stuff about. It saddens me that people feel the need to go OTT with the abuse if others. If you don't believe a poster, log it and remember to ignore what they say. This is a top post Hugo, well said sir.

OK, joke over - there ain't no consortium; there never was. I wish there was cos it might solve our problems but there ain't. Why two guys think there is God only knows. If they have been told something by someone close to the top of the club it's only p***taking. Misinformation for whatever reason. We'll probably lose the court case & will limp on somehow. End of. I have met one of the instigators of this thread & I really don't understand him here. He's probably being used (& laughed at) by someone who likes to wallow in being "ITK". let's move on. Excellent. Case closed then!

Pro NH ? do you mean I don't pretend to know more about BRFC than the chairman ? I simply pointed out that the so called serious posters need to remember that they hijack threads to get the agenda out, ergo 'serious' threads get hijacked in reverse. Nothing more mate. Sorry, I do run my own company but I still don't know more than NH about BRFC, that makes me a joe average supporter not a pro or anti anyone. If there is NH bashing here, he is getting off pretty lightly.
People are reading the accounts and are rightly worried what the future holds and have questions especially should the seemingly inevitable of losing this appeal.
But I guess it's alright there is a plan B that will miraculously pay MSP the £3m quid they are owed
Regardless of fault, who caused what and why we have had to borrow, it is the situation we are in and will need to be dealt with
Totally agree with this. I can't really see where the NH bashing is at all. The facts have been presented in this thread and all people are trying to do is understand and interpret them correctly. If trying to understand the financial events of the last year - since they have an undoubted impact upon the very future of this club - is a crime then we might as well all line up for the firing squad now. I seriously can't understand the histrionics that some people are bringing to this thread - if you're not bothered about the accounts then don't read the thread! I say well done to those that shared the information and started a topic that gives fans a better understanding of what is going on at the club (for better or for worse). Hopefully the answers will be forthcoming at the AGM and these issues can be quickly cleared up. If not, well then there's obviously a case still to answer and rightly so.

If the Jordanians want a piece of the gas then it's pretty clear that they're going to have to make some big changes at their end before we let them through the gates. A quick google tells me that the national head-dress of Jordan is a checked red and white keffiyah ffs.
So on that basis alone they can either change it to blue and white check without delay and throughout the whole of their country or they can **** right off.

If this happens I'll run onto the pitch at the Mem with ambrosia custard smeared on my genitals with a cucumber up my anus. That would be classic half time entertainment for our first game at the new stadium. I'm sure the Jordanian Royal Family would be suitably amused up in box 1!

On a serious note where do the Jordanians get their money from? The country has virtually no conventional oil to speak of.

What's funny is people complaining about puerile, stupid jokes and nonsense ruining this thread when in reality there are less than a handful of posts that contain any verified or tangible evidence for anything! You can't deny that the standard of posting has slipped since we passed page 200 Hugo, surely! Up until that point there was still a small shred of optimism left in some of us. I feel somewhat crushed that the most excitement we can have now is listening to Nobby tell his Norwegian tales.

Maybe it was on the facebook appreciation page? Occasionally there used to be the odd gem on there. Although I actually quit that page last week as there's now way too much crap being posted on it since a couple of the mods moved on - you end up with a facebook feed clogged up with puerile rubbish. Not too unlike this thread in that respect I guess!

Nothing was ever going to happen until the verdict, so why was this thread started so early ? Genuine question. Easy, gasinciders agenda against Nick Higgs. Do you think gasincider has an agenda against Nick Higgs?

It's something to do with it being recently made an "Asset of Community Value". Apparently before you sell (which hopefully we will to Sainsbury) you have to give the people that applied for it to be an ACV the right to buy before anyone else. You also have to give them 6 weeks (I think) to decide. So I think it's just in preparation for what comes next. Either that or we need to sell to pay the Wonga loan and Sainsburys' fees (eek!). More info here www.bishopstonsociety.org.uk/news/other-news/773-memorial-stadium-for-saleIf anyone was interested in buying The Mem as part of the Asset of Community Value, any such request must be submitted to Bristol City Council before 25th January 2016
So the question is, did anyone submit a notice of intention before the 25th January? I have no idea how we can find out unless you know someone at BCC with access to that info.
I have absolutely no knowledge of the acv process but shouldn't that info be available to the public? Certainly would have thought it should be available to you if you are a part of the community that the asset sits within - ie live locally.

Did he not try to invest in rovers once upon a time? Knocked back he went to the darkside. Or at least that's what I heard. That was a long time go, if indeed it even happened. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. You don't make as much money as he has without being at least a little bit ruthless and every fan that we attract is now one less to follow his shower. And at the end of the day that is what it's all about. As a businessman I'm sure he would be ecstatic to see the competition disappear so he could monopolise the city with his holistic 'Bristol Sport' brand. I'm sure he'll have the last laugh eventually, but at least for now it must be killing him to watch ragass rovers pulling in our highest crowds for years with a forward-thinking, popular young manager and a positive vibe surrounding the club.

I just don't believe Lansdown has any interest in Rovers at all - other than marginalising us to try and improve the lot of his current playthings. The arrogant use of the name 'Bristol Sport', the way they have marketed the sh** on the billboards and every word that has come out of his tax-dodging little mouth so far suggests he'd be happier if Rovers didn't exist.
This is what makes the fact that despite his immense wealth they are being shat on from a great height in the Championship and we are seemingly on the up on a shoestring budget so amusing. Not that it will last of course. But the thought of him having any interest in Rovers now is fanciful if you ask me. He's made his bed and I'm sure he's determined to lie in it, no matter how filthy that bed might have turned out to be.

Or maybe the rumours that GD and NH have fallen out are false and GD simply felt he'd had enough/done enough for the club and wanted to pursue other interests. Why would he NOT be invited to the directors' box? Yeah well if I was GD and I saw Dave Harper walking in my direction flanked by a security guy and with a white envelope in his hand I'd be trying pretty hard not to make eye contact nonetheless!

Maybe a second verse to the current Gaffney song, but with a homage to DC. Something like "Oh Darrell Cla-a-arke you are a living god, OhDarrell Cla-a-arke I'd let you w**k my dog, Oh Darrell Cla-a-arke I want Happy Days too" Any idea why the Teds say the w*nking dogs thing about Darrell? No idea but the best way to counter it is surely to turn it around and make light of it. That, after all, was why we started calling ourselves the gas wasn't it - just for example. Pretty sure DC would have had a wry smile when he heard about the dog w**king thing. The dog maybe less so. Anyhow, the ability to laugh at ourselves and not take ourselves too seriously is I think what sets us aside from those peanuts on the other side of the city...
