People actually live Rickford?!? I can walk to the Plume of Feathers, so it has its advantages I once pulled a very nice young lady whilst paralytic at the premier (and only) event in the Rickford social calendar, the duck race. That was a total badge of honour for we country bumpkins at the time I might add. Cooled my jets afterwards by falling (or being pushed into) the ford whilst stumbling home. And before anyone screams 'off topic' I was wearing my Rovers shirt at the time.

You can't say all new stadiums are like that. Oxford's is because it's wide open in the corners and only has three sides. It seems like they built what they could afford at the time with an eye on completing it some time in the future. It's a very drab affair that looks like it was thrown up in all haste from the first blueprint without any consideration taken to the acoustics (or much else for that matter apart from the car park). Stoke is another design that looks like it wasn't given much thought. A wrap-around in one corner but wide open in the other three, letting in icy winds and rain (part of their defensive tactics perhaps). Many of the new grounds have great accoustics. I don't get the nostagia for old grounds. The only ones worth mentioning were designed by Archibald Leitch www.google.se/search?q=Archibald+Leitch+football+grounds+pics&client=opera&hs=DM5&biw=1920&bih=970&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi04vX227LKAhWJ73IKHeOOA2IQsAQIGg#tbm=isch&q=Archibald+Leitch+, most others looked like they were flung up by local builders after a handshake in a pub. I remember going to watch Rangers at Ibrox about 15 years ago and that stadium is terrific externally. The interior's nothing special of course but the outside of the Main Stand is bloody majestic and a great example of yer man Archibald's work.

Oxfordshire people are dripping with wealth, Bristolians are slum-dwelling paupers. Our people can afford to pay more, they can save their money for little luxuries, like food This is gold. Blackbird Leys makes Horfield look like the Champs Elysees!

He's just relayed information from elsewhere. Can't see why there's such a witch hunt going on to be honest. Some of the stuff on this thread seems to be bordering on the obsessional.

"No but it may not have to go that route if what I've heard is true" Andrew Brace's response to a Court Case question, if that's true have we done a deal with Sainsbury's, or just dropped the Appeal?? There are many, including me, who are not on Facebook so do not have a clue about what some people are saying. It's a random bloke on the Bristol Rovers Appreciation facebook group posting the title of this thread and one more comment as in Topper's post above. Suspect he heard it from a bloke down the pub, that's kind of what it sounded like!

Yes, I agree with your last line Hugo. Not sure why that prevents us from taking the p1ss out of them. In fact I can't believe we're even having this conversation.
If supporters of any club let 'double standards' get in the way of posting banter about their rivals then virtually nothing would ever get posted. I mean the minute this Briz Red flog starts picking teds up on OTIB for posting crap about Rovers then that's the minute he's welcome to come over here and start preaching to me. Until then he can stick it where the sun don't shine as far as I'm concerned, valid point or not.
Anyway, maybe you could get the soap back off him next time you see him Hugo.

And this is why it's a stupid idea to post up threads about Neanderthal Teds. I couldn't give a monkeys how bad they are or what they get up to until we have our own house in order. Maybe the cops were ott, I wasn't there but if oldgas' description is accurate it seems fair enough. Some football fans (of all colours) seem to lose all sense of decency once they get near a ground. They don't care what they say or do and have no regard for women, children or old folks. Don't know that many people will disagree with the last two lines. Not sure why that means we can't poke fun at our inbred red friends on a Bristol Rovers forum though to be honest. Should we avoid talking about football as well? At least until we're better than they are at it and we therefore have our own house in order? Ridiculous.

Please, if you could all remember to run any posts relating to the massive club past Briz Red for moderation before you post them on a Bristol Rovers forum then I'm sure that would be greatly appreciated by all...

Totally agree, although i would just add that what all teams need are goalscorers and Tubbs is a goalscorer. Sadly, based on this season's evidence, the person who i expected to put away the highest percentage of his chances (Easter) has looked like someone who'll never score. I wonder if DC views the signing of 'jamma' as a mistake or if he thinks he's a valuable member of the squad. Genuine question.

His dead ball delivery could be useful. Isn't that something we've been a bit poor on until now this season?

They are so f**king thick it's unbelievable. The majority seem to think there's actually some substance in the "15,000" post. Someone else has said that we could only muster 150 at Bradford a few seasons back when we were in a very late push for the playoffs. Pretty sure they had a pitiful following to Bradford away themselves last year despite it being the night they won the league. The away following argument is clearly a good angle as it seems to wind them up pretty easily.

Can you assist club following Boxing Day fixture? City are appealing for help from supporters in response to an element of disorder in the dying stages of the Boxing Day game against Charlton Athletic. A seat was kicked off its frame by one person in Block E34 of the Dolman Stand, landing a few rows further down the stand. It was then subsequently thrown by another individual towards the pitch area. In an unrelated incident, another person also threw a stone towards the pitch surround in stoppage time. The club is interested in speaking to the individuals responsible and seeks support from fans that were in the area in providing information that will help identify them. It is possible the club will receive a substantial fine from The FA for these incidents. If you have any information please e-mail david.storr@bristol-sport.co.uk. Read more at www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/city-seeks-help-in-fan-identification-2886257.aspx#0uYLF3tvKj6hukLq.99A seat was kicked and a stone was thrown. Carnage at AG. Reading got off lightly. I hope there was still a full complement of corner flags on the pitch by the end of the game.

Bloody simple isn't it? Four way revolving door deal.
Ellis Harrison to the sh**. Kodjia to Gillingham. Blokey to Cambridge. Gaffney to the gas.
I should be an agent.

Did his time playing out of position last year without complaint and by all accounts has stepped up to the plate in his preferred position this year. Not surprising he's drawing interest from other clubs.
Heart says it would be great to keep him but realistically the head says he'd go if he gets a decent offer. Can hardly begrudge him that given what he's put into the club for us over the last year and a half. Gutting all the same though.

Really? He's hardly likely to go for a million squid is he? More like somewhere between $0k and $50k I would have thought. At that value I'm not sure it matters what the fee is, more whether there is actually a fee or not. Why don't you start a poll asking what people would be prepared to pay for him (broken down into acceptable value segments). If you can't find the poll button I can point you in the right direction... Really. £15k and I would be dead happy. £50k and I wouldn't blame the club for thinking twice. Better start your poll then mate.

Bit of a vague poll. Like poster above says it depends what the fee is. Players have their prices. There are certain things I would love to have in life but even if I can afford them, if I think they are more expensive than they are worth then I wouldn't buy it. Really? Anyone know him? Given their response to the memorial gates they're probably saying it's actually a rovers fan trying to discredit their family franchise of a club. Or maybe it's Ellis Harrison.
