I think the OP has a good point with regards to the shop. With a demand for face coverings, new shirts, new training kits etc, I think we may have missed a trick here.
The bar idea however, is, in my opinion, a non starter. Every pub I've been in on Saturdays since being allowed out, has been either very quiet, or completely empty. Having just spent 5 days in London, I was amazed at how quiet it is. Train empty, tubes empty, tube stations eerily quiet, loads of shops, coffee shops, pubs, wine bars, clubs, all still shut. I don't think anyone in their right mind is going to travel from other parts of Bristol to go in our club house.

Spoons have always been quite handy in what they provide, food and drink at a cost that is appealing to, amongst others, those people that may struggle to pay the prices elsewhere, and with prices pushing £6 a pint in some pubs on Gloucester Road, they can not complain if someone tries to do it for £2 cheaper. They also provide a perfect meeting place on away games, in some far flung outpost, before moving on to somewhere local, and better.
Tim Martin may have been vocal in his opinions on Brexit, but 'intelligent' he most certainly was not. He was so clearly out of his depth on Question Time, that he came across as someone who couldn't actually find his arse with both hands. It was car crash television. He didn't cover himself in glory with regards to the furlough scheme either, but I should imagine most people will forget that quite soon, just as they have Sainsbury's, as well as Tesco, Aldi, and Iceland, for selling us all horse disguised as beef. Those boycotts didn't last very long after all.
Pubs will always be a more exciting and tempting prospect before a match, when a pint in most club houses resembles having a drink in 'Phoenix Nights'. They really need to move with the times a bit, if wanting to add fans' pre and post match beer money to their coffers.

Of course I don’t expect this to be the place where the stadium news is announced. I’ve been on here long enough.
It would be nice though, to know that the content of each thread bears even the slightest resemblance to the title.
If the only reason that posters come on here is to aim childish, puerile, and primary school level insults at each other, perhaps they would be better off setting up their own thread.
There are still sites that allow this level of intelligence.

I'm completely with Timsbury. If you see additional posts on the thread about the stadium, you click on it to at least see something relevant, or updated, not endless posts about what a Special lady garden Bolders is, or whatever he does in his bedroom.
Apart from being a bit sh** for Bolders, it just wastes everyone's time really.
Great to have banter, like some proper quality laughs on the 'What's for Dinner', and the 'Marble Racing' threads over the lockdown, but best to keep it to that.
Perhaps a separate thread could be created, whereby everyone who wants to insult Bolders can, along with anyone else who wants to indulge in playground level insults, leaving all the rest to see what's actually happening with regards to the relevant thread.
Just a thought.

Went over 3-4 years ago when we played them in a friendly. Fantastic weekend, and they love us over there. Four of us went over independently, but I know a couple of the Rovers' lads that organise a great trip over there, staying on the coast at Santa Susanna I think it is. Would definitely recommend the trip, although I would probably only go if we were playing them.

I recall Edgar Street having the narrowest turnstiles I have ever seen. A mate of a mate got wedged in, so they had to open the gates especially!

Where are the Pompey fans singing from? Sounds like about 10-20 of them. Have sung solidly throughout the first half.

Yes, agree with above.
Gillingham is a run-down, filthy, tatty, smelly, dilapidated shithole, and I can’t think for one minute that the house prices would be anywhere near those in Bristol.
It’s close proximity to London is the only plus point for this depressing carbuncle of a place.

Commentator just now ‘it’s thought that the lack of a crowd should help Bristol City’!
There can’t be many clubs whose fans are so pathetic that it’s beneficial not to have them there!

I'm a member, purely for the reason of getting priority to away tickets. And a Helpline member too.
However, I do forget that I'm a member from one year to the next, as I receive absolutely no communication from the SC at all. A letter with your card in, and then nothing, until asking for your money next year. No letters, emails, texts, messages, invitations to meetings, nothing at all. That is pretty poor really isn't it. No wonder the committee never changes, no other bugger knows when the meetings are!

Can only endorse what Wareham said there BJ. You’ve been the catalyst on this thread to get everybody together and in the right spirits. I’ve struggled a bit some afternoons and weekends even more so, but you’ve kept it going. Stay strong, and before long there’ll be better things for all of us.
