On a brighter the only thing fans have to complain about after the end of another season is Mr Bing Bong! Bring back NH so we can complain about something decent like relegation!! 😂😂😂 Totally agree with the point you're making, although in fairness it is a forum, and you're never going to get 100% positive posts. Doubt anyone's gone home and battered the Mrs over it

According to Southwark News journalist some of our players even threw up at half-time! Hopefully they can take the elation of beating a decent Bristol Rovers side in adversity into the play-offs. As an aside Bristol Rovers certainly seem a club on the up - and I hope that continues, have a genuine like for the club. I'm a History teacher and have read the history of pretty much every single senior club in England (plus Spain, Germany and Italy) and was always drawn to your story. I will leave you in peace now. Get the feeling Ive outstayed my welcome - some people really dislike us, I get it. But dont want to get drawn into any silly tribalism stuff. So, cheers and maybe next season or soon. Never a problem with anyone on here as long as posts are respectful (other than the sh*t!) and yours have been. All the best.

I hate saying it, but it's gunna kick off massively if we win. They will be mad and our nutters will be up for it as well. I'm glad I can't go to be fair! 😨 Will it really though? Hard to find trouble at the football in this day and age unless you're looking for it tbh

"Once I was a gashead and wouldn't have been seen dead talking to you but then TV gave me lots of money for being a quirky Bristolian and because I was in the premier league for a couple of seasons unsuccessfully. Now I'll say anything to anyone and sign anything"

Retain a massive soft spot for Manse, top player, top bloke, top penalty. Bodin deserves a mention, sheer quality more and more often, and both Linesy and OC as Bristol boys who keep improving all the time.

Whenever this comes up people seem to miss the point of the complaints in my opinion- whether deliberately or not I don't know. I can't emphasise enough how little I care about who Ellis supports, who Ellis socialises with, what Ellis says or does in his free time. I do however find it extremely frustrating that he consistently uses social media to deliberately goad people who spend their wages to support him. It isn't the actions themselves that are the problem, it's the mockery of using social media to have a laugh at the expense of fans. The fact that he is under-performing on the pitch is bound to compound people's anger.

Top player, top bloke, top Gashead. Big love for Mark, all the very best in the future. Welcome back any time and I hope the powers that be will make him fully aware of that. UTG

It's not his place to have a Plan B on transfers, it's DCs. If DC says he's happy, then SH should rightly accept that. Can't lay that on him really. I was watching the West Ham Vs Manchester United game and they have had a similar issue with Payet (curse of the song?) and David Gold pretty much had asked the manager if he needed replacing and was given the same response as DC. Wait till the summer. It seems like the sensible viewpoint. Except they went and signed Snodgrass surely?

So Mods what do you think instead of just reading this thread how about getting on with it? If you'd all stop posting it there would be no need to wipe it. I'm not rewriting or deleting history on here. It's not a mods place to chose the forums agenda. If another mod wants to, that's up to them but it would be the start of a very slippery slope and I will have no part of it. In total agreement with this.

Also, if teams pay players off, surely they become free agents? I know it's probably dodgy, but we could probably say to club A - hey, how much would it cost you to pay up his contract? We are happy to reimburse you Lol There's still a window though in which free agents can sign iirc, they aren't free to sign for any club all year round otherwise, as you say, the whole concept of the transfer window would be rendered completely pointless!

Wiki reckons he played for us 40 times!! I'm guessing 30 of those were from the bench? Yeah you'd certainly assume so, but still many more appearances than I'd have guessed.

Don't think he was ever "right", was he? Agree, makes it sound like he's played at a high level or something! He was just too lightweight and never good enough. You do wonder how he would get on with better management like we have now though. Wiki reckons he played for us 40 times!!

We should have kept hold of Chapman. Good luck to the new lad, he's young and will be raw. He may surprise us but I think he's been signed as cover for Mildy anyway. I'm not judging the player but all the well wishers, are you honestly saying you all did a little fist pump when we announced the LOAN signing of a kid? It's not about the player himself, it's the message it sends out. We are desperate for a decent keeper. Not a world beater but a decent pro with a few years behind him. We keep being told WAQ has cash and will back DC. We keep being told DC knows what's wrong and will fix it. How many of you really think this sends out the right message that we are hoping to establish ourselves as a top L1 side or that it will solve our problems? Personally I find it a very strange signing. I will fully support the lad and I will not judge or get on his back, but I would be lying if I said I was filled with enthusiasm for our business so far this window. Top post, put it down in a more measured way than I was able to but I completely agree.

"The haters"? It's not an episode of the bloody Kardashians, it's frustration at the fact we're incapable of signing a player it's glaringly obvious we're desperate for There's still a fair bit of the window left Bill. How about we wait and see what this kids like in a Rovers Jersey and what else we do in the market before assuming we can't sign who we need? That's true but unfortunately I can't see it. My reaction to this signing isn't one of burning rage and certainly not of "hatred" towards Lumley or towards anyone. I'm just hugely frustrated because I'm desperate for us to do well and it feels like we get close and then go and sign a player in the same mould as many who've struggled here. All the luck in the world to him, I hope he works out great and will always be supporting him 100% but I find it hard not to be frustrated by this as a signing. Just how I see it on this one I'm afraid.

f**k me the poor kid will be terrified if people's opinions from here transfer onto the terraces. Just what we need another nervous keeper. Welcome to the club Joe. I hope you prove the haters wrong. Who hates Joe? "The haters"? It's not an episode of the bloody Kardashians, it's frustration at the fact we're incapable of signing a player it's glaringly obvious we're desperate for

Joke signing ffs and that coming from someone who is very positive about the club, can't really fault Wael, and I love DC to bits. But it's excruciating that we insist on signing dross to play in goal. How hard can it possibly be to permanently sign a keeper who is over 25 with experience of league one or the championship. Unbelievably disappointing I'm afraid, can't understand what it is about this football club and signing goalkeepers, been going on about a decade now with Mildenhall the only half decent one and even he played in the relegation season. Do you really expect another club to sell their experienced goalkeeper to us midway through a season without us paying a substantial amount for him? Why is someone like Gerken a particularly unlikely signing? Gerken's experienced but isn't getting in the side at the moment, and I'm sure you'd find a minimum of 5 more in the same situation if you looked at whole of champ and league one. I can't imagine he would have commanded a substantial fee, but if a substantial fee is required let's just get on and f*cking do it for once. We know we NEED a keeper so let's sign one in the 25-32 bracket with some experience and the problem's solved for this season and god knows how many more. If it costs £100K then so be it, how much did we get from the Chelsea game alone?
