I cannot think of another player given so many chances for years in a Rovers shirt. Now is the time for him to take responsibility for his performances IMO. I am not talking about the back pass, anyone can do that, but his many lack lustre performances and lack of work ethic. We haven't got where we are just by him scoring the odd important goal but by the hard work and consistent performances of the rest of the team. Yes his goals have helped but without the snake we are looking for someone to take on that responsibility. I don't think Gaffney is good enough either for us to progress, but at least he puts in a shift. I like Ellis and would love to see him do well, but for me he has had enough chances and we need to replace now. Attitude? Mental bloc? whatever, take it on Ellis and sort your self out, IMO success beckons if you apply yourself.

1 mistake and the linch mob are out in force , interesting how people blame Ellis for yesterday but don't feel the need to talk about Luke James who was a complete joke.

The difference is that Ellis has all the physical attributes but doesn't use them, whilst James at least puts in the effort. I have backed Ellis for the length of his time here, but that mess up yesterday summed him up completely. Headless.

Your reply is a complete joke, please read 'I am not talking about the back pass'. Luke James has recently been given his chance and he WORKS at it.Ellis is the opposite.

It's not just 1 mistake though is it? He just didn't look interested enough before or after his mistake. I can guarantee though any of our other players if they had made that mistake would be working their bollocks off to make up for it, not Ellis though apparently. Not to mention how inconsistent he is, the most frustrating player I have ever seen in a Rovers shirt. Also you criticise Luke James but at least DC knows he will get a shift out of him and Gaffney. With Ellis it just seems to depend on which Ellis turns up on the day.

Still think there is a player in there but perhaps a change of club is what he needs.

Still think there is a player in there but perhaps a change of club is what he needs. I think most people see potential in him and that is why he is so frustrating. It's no good fulfilling that potential 1 in every 10 games though.

Don't recall Luke James setting up their goal though? Harrison is obviously going to get slagged off after that. The truth is NONE of our strikers are good enough.

Ellis has all the skill and ability and when he bothers he looks like a really good player.
For whatever reason he seems not to show up too many times.
It's really frustrating and probably why he attracts so much flack.
He can do it, but doesn't appear to want to put the work in.

I think we should kill him.
Seriously.
Murder him.
And hide his body.*
*There's a field up by UWE I know, where we could probably bury his body, which will remain hidden for some time.

Really hope Harrison moves on at the end of the season for his own good more than anything else. The abuse he got yesterday in the west enclosure was awful. There have also been racist comments shouted out in the past few weeks as well. He's a football player ffs. Love my club with a passion but a minority of our fans are absolute w*nkers.

Harrison the man with no brain, under no pressure to send the ball back towards our goal , let's be fair it was a cocaine pass, misery written all over it ,2 points dropped imo.

Ellis has scored 40 league and cup goals for us and has just turned 23. Not bad going, really. Amongst those came some absolutely vital contributions under high pressure. This suggests to me that he has what it takes. What he is, undoubtedly, is inconsistent. Young players, in general, are.
Lockyer, who has been a rock for us over the last 3 years, has had a spell this year where he seemed to have lost confidence in his ability. Loads on here said he should be dropped 'for his own good'. He wasn't, and he has come through that bad spell. He remains one of our most important players.
Ollie Clarke turns 25 this June. Plenty of people have written him off enough times in his short career to have finished a lesser man, and only now is he finding the consistency in his game and the tactical knowhow, which takes years to build.
If you have faith in your talented young players, they will handsomely reward you. Yes, that means giving them lots of chances, FFS!

Not good enough for lg1. I'll say it again, its bloody typical that it is the first season that loans cant be made when you want as were terribly short up top. Glad we have drew last 5 games, as if it would have been 5 loses i would be worried about the drop

He has the game to be a great player. But he doesn't apply himself constantly. I don't see how giving him time to develop or sticking by him is going to change that. He needs a kick up the arse.

I cant disagree with the fact that Ellis has been given opportunity .... I don't disagree that at 23 he is ok but hasn't quite blossomed as we might have all hoped.
However .... he is possibly the best of an ineffective front line three that are left at the club for this season and we truly need to get behind him. We have all loved his good moments and there have been a number and now he needs a hug for the last twelve or so games.
There was always the possibility of bringing a striker in to replace the snake ...DC didn't want to pay inflated prices and we have to accept that. Equally he doesn't want to ask Jermaine to step back in and we have to accept that ... as crazy as that feels !
We have a very decent defensive unit now .... a midfield that is simmering nicely and a seriously poor front line .... Expect a lot of the last twelve games to be goalless or very low scoring. It really hasn't helped that in our last two games we have gifted the opposition their goals literally .... two wins from those games and the crazies on here would be talking about play offs .... I for one will be happy with 52 points reached asap and the relative safety of L1 football next season.
The summer will really be the time to test the Senior management appetite to push on .... Excited about that already !!
Let's get behind Ellis and hopefully he might just deliver ... as he has before!!
