Kingswood is right in that football has moved on BUT trouble is never far away, most of the time followers manage to keep a lid on serious violence but it only takes a tiny spark form it to all kick off, as for 'caged ' fans i suspect cages came about due to serious violence at matches and would not have been necessary had every one behaved, think we can all agree that no one wants to see a return to those days. The 70s were known for hooliganism at games. Very few went for the actual football. There’s been many a documentary on it especially featuring our fair club. Wasn’t there a Bovver Boots book released about it too?

Every week there is violence at football, admittedly it’s teenagers clad in Burberry and Stone Island representing their “ultras massive”. You can bump into a fair bit of it on Instagram reels every Saturday evening.
Who knows what’s exactly happened but 2 sets of fans have ended up brawling. It would be unusual to find yourselves on either side of the fight if you hadn’t conscientiously put yourself in that position somehow.
I don’t think there was any intention from either side to “beat anyone to death” but it certainly sounds like someone has taken a punch with far reaching consequences and that is what happens if you decide to swing your fists, it’s pot luck.
What a sad state of affairs.

I didn’t attend many games from 2001-2006 as I was still playing to a decent standard and then moved to London and never got back for many games.
Started going again in 2007 after I moved back and had to stop playing myself in 2008 after dislocating my knee playing in a game at Bristol Manor Farm.
Been a ST holder since 2012 and haven’t missed many games since.

JB talks about a play off push and aiming for the Championship before his contract expires and the club are talking about building a 4,000 seat stand, so you can hardly say from what you've "heard" nothing is likely to change in the next 6 years. If we do manage to build the new stand then it will be the first one with a fixed metal roof we've ever built as a club. We built one alongside the main grandstand at Twerton Park. I used to treat myself and sit in it sometimes. Brings back memories of sitting in that.

Apart from the £35 million debt he wrote off and the £1 million Training Ground, the £3 million he writes off every year, paying to keep the Club alive through Covid, Fans Zone, yep, pretty much the same. How's that different from any other football league club.. it's hardly got us anywhere. Don't get me wrong he's a nice bloke but the standard of football is right back where he started. If I'm honest I haven't got a clue what the clubs objective is other than just about staying afloat. A lot of the money he's writing off is down to some bloody awful decision making and recruitment on his part. This is something I challenged a few on the OF to do when this statement was made. Go through the club accounts and pick out where the money was wasted, how much that waste is and whether we are repeating the same waste. So far no one has done it. The best we had was that the quarters were a waste of money and we should’ve rented a facility instead.

All well and good, however if the income from the seats is going to offset the cost of the stand, that's 3 years with less of it going into the club coffers for wages etc. Some of it will be additional income to what we have at present, although I can't see us getting 4,000 seats in that space, so it could be a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul. You have to speculate to accumulate, investment in a improved stadium leads to more revenue which can then be ploughed back into the club. Depends what the speculative costs are verses the accumulation though…

Myles Peart-Harris has been in excellent form for FGR this season. Would happily have him.
Sam Nombe from Exeter would be another top of my shopping list should we have some Collins money to spend.

Think we're moving away from the fact that we took a point from a top 6 side yesterday, through hard work, more than most of us were expecting. And the sh1t lost. Let's just enjoy our Sunday and look forward to heaping more misery on FGR next Saturday. Agree. We aren’t a top 6 side yet but through graft we took something out of the game. Nothing wrong with that. Grand Prix to watch too.

15 pages? My word😄😄😄 Only our biggest winning margin since Cheltenham Away (October 15th) 😬 Will hope for similar this time next week! As long as you get up early and stop you know who nearly ruining the match day thread winning mentality all will be good!

They got a tricky run-in, could easily get sucked in to the drop zone now and who ever takes over has no window to work with. Doesn’t half remind you of us 2 years ago. The only difference is, when you look at their squad on paper, they hardly have a team full of Jack Baldwins and Ben Liddle’s. They have a fairly decent squad.

Not sure it's altogether fair to start blaming the Greens for all this. Maybe when we've identified something, and somewhere, and someone to pay for it, and designed it, and applied for planning permission, and seen the pp rejected, THEN we can blame those rotters the Greens. The Greens are exactly to blame for the UWE not happening and also for previous sabotage of the Mem regen. Without that achrid, tofu guzzling, hippy dickhead that was Radice we would likely have sailed through. I haven’t forgotten and I’ll never forgive them and they can stick Greta up their arse. Sideways.

I should imagine that if delegated powers are given to a planning officer then things could happen quicker but the report in Bristol Live states that months are being taken to allocate a planning officer to applications. As for Wimbledon: When Do You HAVE to Apply for Planning Permission? So, when do you actually have to apply for planning permission when it comes to a temporary structure? Well, if you follow a simple rule of “if your structure is going to be required for more than 28 days, you are likely to need planning permission” you won’t be too far out. We the Green Party having a majority on the Planning committee now i can only see the wait getting longer Why would anyone vote in the anti capitalist, anti investment, nimby tree huggers into a major city in need of investment, infrastructure and regeneration is beyond me.

If it's going to be ready for the start of next season then it's probably not going to be as impressive as I picture it in my mind😂 Im already under the absolute impression what its going to be like having wondered down the garden shed isle in B&Q on Sunday.

If it’s temporary does it even need planning? Because there will be changes to dimension, height, location and the number of seats, it will need to go through all the rigours of a process that a permanent stand would have to go through. That said, it should be a relatively straightforward process.

He has a certain style of football which isnt always easy on the eye to watch, its been effective over a long term at Wycombe but it certainly has a ceiling. Wycombe are an absolute Banned word of a club and it suits them perfectly.

Apparently this project no longer includes a Football Stadium. Good luck with that one, KP has been trying to convince us for several days. I cannot be bothered to trawl 4 pages of bollocks from a known disinformation-ist with a set narrative and agenda. Hopefully Peter Hooper is more ITK.
