I am mts biggest fan but this is ridiculous now. I hope we now give him a deadline ultimatum of 5pm tmrw and then withdraw offer. What confuses me is if a big-er club wanted him, hes free, he would have been snapped up. The new club would want to see what they got and hope they see signs of him making the grade.... Signing two years with us with clauses to leave is surely a no brainer!! Grass isnt always greener matty!! There is no point in doing that.
I hope and assume that DC is actively looking to replace him, I'd be really disappointed if he is not.
If we find someone then we could sign them and like John Ward, Matty will find that the offer has been withdrawn.
I doubt we will find a 20 goal a season player on the funds DC has at his disposal.

Absolutely disgusting if it's Oxford. Supporter or not they got rid of him at least once before. If it is true I hope he doesn't cut the grade in League 1. Lets be honest we might have expected it from him as he kept Forest Green waiting when he signed for us.A leopard never changes its spots. I could understand if it was a Championship club or even a top big League 1 side like say Sheffield United but Oxford sorry Matty you.ve let your supporters down big time. I seem to remember at the beginning of last season there were more than a few "supporters" on here giving Matty plenty of stick.

I wasn't in anyway disrespecting Wael I was just pointing out we as a club have approached the UWE project professionally by employing an experienced team but still nothing appears to be moving!! I just used your message to make my own comment and was in no way intended to imply anything against any Gashead.

Who cares ! The bloody Saga continues why is everything so bloody complicated at the gas. Wael has taken on a team of experts to oversee the stadium project if they can't sort it out who the bloody hell can does your head in dunnit!! I have total respect for Wael and he has my 100% backing.
Remember, he/his family/one of his companies paid off the £3m loan and I also assume paid off Watola.
My concern lies elsewhere in the organisation.

I'm advised that SH has let it be known that it not appropriate for Radio Bristol and Evening Post from asking questions about UWE.

He was found out after LL was disposed of.
Having said that, LL went on a buying spree which took us a few years to recover from.

What kit are they wearing?
Is it the training kit again or do they now have the proper kit?

Roofe has just signed for Leeds United.
Announcement that Matty has joined Oxford in next 48 hours?
Nice deal for Oxford if true, sell Roofe for 2 million Plus add ons then get someone in who scored more goals than Roofe last season on a free!
Just shows the value of keeping your better players under contract.
But what does that tell you about Matty
Leeds pay £2m? for a player but could have had Matty on a freeby?

What is your obsession with withdrawing the contract offer? What difference will it make as he has likely got much better offers on the table anyway. I like the way DC has chose to do things personally, it leaves the door ajar whilst warning Taylor that it could be taken off the table at anytime. Why cut off your nose to spite your face? It's clear he doesn't want to stay if he did, he would have signed.
If he does sign, it will be because he had nothing else and we are his last option and he shouldn't he holding around forever. How long do you give it? He's had long enough to make a decision.
If that was correct you would think he would have signed for another club by now.
I'm sure he has received other offers but how they compare to ours is anyones guess. I have no idea and nor does anyone on here.
My own personal opinion. He wants to stay with us but is as indecisive as he is on occassions with the "one on one" situations with the GK.
I wonder if he managed to make up his mind on the Euro vote or even get around to voting before the polling boths closed?

Could it be that Matty CANNOT train because he is no longer insured by BRFC? Non-contracted players train with clubs all the time Yes, but are they covered by medical insurance should they get injured?
I do not know the answer, just asking the question.
What happens if a non contract player gets a really serious injury, who pays for any medical costs?

What if DC does not have a clue what is going on as Matty and/or his agent has said nothing?

He's either gone or going. Otherwise he would have signed for us. It's as simple as that. Shows a lack of respect.lets get someone in who wants to wear the shirt. Rant over. Kind of agree with you. It's clear he wants a move and we are his 2nd choice and back up option. The rumoured £7k per week we have offered him is a decent wedge for someone that I'm sure was on little over £500 per week a few season ago. I will always be grateful for Taylor's efforts these past 2 seasons and would love him to stay but this is starting to leave a bad taste in the mouth and shouldn't have dragged on this far. Some Gasheads have been listening to many fairy stories, he has been offered less than half of that.

Crikey, thought they would have cut the first few seconds. I don't know who does the interviews, but the standard has always been poor and seems to be one of the only areas of the club that hasn't improved in recent years. It was Keith Brookman and he is usually very good.
Just put this one down to a bad technical problem and I think we can move on without a full inquest.

Maybe he wants to stay at Rovers but is disappointed with the new deal as it stands ? and is hoping Rovers offer him a bit more ! Wouldn't surprise me. SH has already suggested we've made him the best offer we've ever made to a player and at the end of the day there's only so much we can pay any player. Regardless of what is going on behind the scenes surely the club can make some kind of announcment ie MT's turned down the offer/talks are still continuing/he's considering staying. Let's say he has been offered £2,500 a week by BRFC and has an offer of £3,000 a week.
I would not blame him for asking the club to match it even if they have said they have made their best offer.
To get a PROVEN goalscorer would cost us £500k+ if we have to pay a fee and any player who's contract has just expired will want that type of wage.
It depends on how deperate DC is to keep him and if Wael is prepred to bankroll him.

I would lo him to stay. I've always supported him. But.... his inability to make a decision until after the last minute will always look like he's holding out for a better offer. Now that can be understood, but it will not be forgiven by some. The first sign of petulance or miss a few good chances and sections will be openly discussing his will, his loyalty or whether he can bothered. We will look like his least worst option rather than his best. Maybe he wants to stay at Rovers but is disappointed with the new deal as it stands ? and is hoping Rovers offer him a bit more ! Wouldn't surprise me. I tend to agree with you.
I think he wants to stay and has not received mega wage offers from other clubs, although I am sure he has received an offer that is more than we can afford to pay
The Contracts offered to a lot of our players were not a great deal more than what they were on last season and some, the same money.

If he is going to sign for another club, there is absolutely no reason why his new club will/could not announce this today.
They do not need our permission to announce this, in fact we have no control over an ex-player, because that is what he is, doing whatever he wants.
I find this absolutely baffling and cannot see what supporters expect of BRFC, they can only say he has not signed a new Contract with us.
Is Matty still expecting us to up whatever offer he has received from us.
It will be interesting if he appears at the training ground on Monday morning if we hear nothing by then.
