It's quite obvious what they need to do about queues. Maybe a drink only shack. Pre make a load just before half time. Maybe serve dime bars with your drink as a snack. sh** loads of leftovers yesterday after the game That is a very good idea, a lot of Gasheads just want a Coffee/Tea/Bovril.
The Pasties/Pies are already warmed up before the game or for halftime, so that is not the problem. I heard another reason for the decision from within BRFC, it was to "cut down on the choice"!!!!!!!

Agreed mate. At least the new lot are trying to maximise the stadium, it may not be perfect but it's little steps of progress and I applaud that. Btw when I met up with Mr Hamer recently he said that if we fill the stand it will pay for itself in just 3-4 games and then its profit all the way. Now that sounds like good business sense to me and is a small step towards a club that is self-sustaining, and that is good reason to be happy. UTG Yeah but he got rid of the pies damn him Steve Hamer had nothing to do with the "pie" decision.
That was down to the "line manager"

GOOD NEWS - The pies make a return from the Cheltenham match.
Thanks for the help BSS, people power still has a place at BRFC

Oh well , a pastie it is then. Move on. Today it's a pie, tomorrow....? Hugo, that is exact it.
It appears that one individual is making these decisions without any consultation with supporters wishes.
Yes, it's pies today. What is next on the hit list? Bovril?

Have we had official confirmation pies aren't being sold, or is this another rumour similar to Taylor signing for Hearts? If it is true then perhaps there's a logic explanation? Is this for real?
The stadium manager has confirmed this, what more do you need.
I hardly think BRFC are going to make an announcement about this.
Try buying one tomorrow or ask Ian Holtby or Robert Lawrence.

I thought that the pasty huts were a franchise and not part of the permanent infrastructure of the club. I loved the pasties and, to be honest - my obsessive OCD requirement for a matchday pasty was as much responsible for promotion as the much vaunted Kettle from Newton Abbott. LIke Newton Abbott Gas, I won't be relinquishing my matchday "habit" anytime soon. I never had a pie but I am not convinced that the cessation of their sales will reduce the size of the queues by very much, if at all. If it works, then yahoo, I look forward to being able to walk straight up to the Pasty Hut and indulging myself with no delays!!! This seems a completely random and bizarre decision BUT at least it is beating any Matty Taylor Threads for the discussion point of the day. No longer the case, they are all under the control of the football club.
I'm sure if it were not the case, the pies would still be available.

Yes, the baguettes are very good.
There is a new menu of burgers and hotdogs, did not notice the prices.
Some supporters arrive at the ground, want to go straight in and buy a pie/pasty and tea/coffee/Bovril before taking their place. Some Gasheads travel a considerable distance to the ground and that is the only way they can get a snack before or during a game.
I make the point again. What difference, time wise, is selling a pie to selling a pasty. The only way you are going to shorten the queue is by having less customers = less revenue.
There shouldnt be. If anything the drinks probably take longer Which is why i wonder what the ratio of sales are If enough people turn up at the first game and are disappointed maybe it will change One for BSS and Ken.perhaps?Already emailed them.
In the scheme of things, this is a minor irritation taking into account the bigger picture.
But, someone has taken it into their own hands to make this decision and I do not think it is Robert.

The kitchen is still open in the Bristol room though. So you have the option there to get sometbing to eat. How many pies do they sell compared to Pasties in the ground? Yes, the baguettes are very good.

Time to get the pie Van out and start to sell Clarks Pies me thinks I'd buy one from them and as regards not being able to go 90 minutes without stuffing ones face, I assume that was "in jest" as BRFC make a lot of money at home games through hospitality.
Can you imagine any club in the north of England not selling pies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where you hear this? If true, then sack Robert Lawrence as he's the one in charge of catering! I could not believe this when told by the lady in the pasty hut so emailed the Stadium Manger and this was his reply.
Someone suggested that the profit is more on a pasty than on a pie. Could that be the real reason?

The club have decided not to sell pies any more at home games.
The reason given is to speed up the queues at the food outlets. Now, can someone tell me how not selling pies is going to speed up the queues, I do not like pasties, apart from not bothering to buy food as I will not be bothering in future.
A totally farcical decision with absolutely no logic.

I heard a "rumour" that 1983 Ltd had offered to buy a set of red and white quarter shirts for the match.

I have it on very good authority that the only promise given by Macron was that the shirts would be delivered before the start of the season.
No-one bother to mention the funday, that date had not been arranged when the order was placed in May(?).
This appears to be a monumental balls-up by several people at the club. Perhaps they should have asked BRSC for some input but they appear to be "persona non grata" at the moment.

It finished 0-0.
Have no idea who was playing, only relaying score from someone who attended.
His comment was "80% of chances to Gas but again no final pass/shot."
He has attended all pre-season friendlies so far this season.
There is also a game at Cirencester but not sure of date.

It's at Keynsham.
I'm told it was 0-0 at halftime and not a very good game.

By the look of it I do not suppose anyone is watching the Academy playing Keynsham tonight.

Brilliant to see Eliot Richards again and the applause for his goal well deserved. Enjoyed the game, Weston are a friendly little club and I might pop up the road to see them again during the new season. Don't know who the trialist was but he seemed useful. Thought Gos and Monty looked good. think the trialist is called Sam Barrett. Don't know anything about him other than he was at Maidenhead and is a 'highly rated youngster'... DC wanted this info KEPT QUIET, so well done.
He did not want to alert any other club that he was on trial with us, but it is not always clever to be the first to put info into the public domain.
